Short Question: Do you play 2+ RPGs at once or do you focus on one and then go to the next one when you beat it?

My Situation And Why I'm Asking (Optional to read): im currently working on xenoblade chronicles (a WONDERFUL game so far) and i want to get into earthbound. should i start earthbound now when im already doing xenoblade chronicles or shold i wait until i finish that. both have negatives. if i wait then im going to be ancios about earthbound and want to beat xenoblade chrinicles fats (AKA rush it) i dont rush games becouse i thnk that takes away from the experience if your just anticipating it to be over. on the other hand, if i start earthbound now, it might take away from my xenoblade chronicles time and ill stop playing it almost in entirety until i beat earthbound if i like it enough. so i ask you to answer the question stated at the beggining of this thread.

i start any game i buy right when i get home... or i try to at least. so you cold say i have many games in progress

I usually play two games at once; one on my console and one on a portable.  But that's just so I have a game to play at home and one when I'm not (or away from the TV).  Maybe if you split the time up doing both at the same time won't interfere too much.

Well, even when I buy multiple games at a time, I usually play all the way through each one individually. Most games I buy take a few hours, but a RPG takes a couple days out of my time. Basically, I dun build a backlog of games.

I usually focus on 1 right away and finish it. Then start another.

currently I'm playing both Shin Megami Tensei IV and Final Fantasy IX back to back and once I finish SMT IV I'll start with Bravely Default but not after making a substantial progress in FFIX

I tried doing that. KH1.5 and FFXIII. I decided to just finish up the entire FFXIII series before heading back to KH1.5

One at a time, I'm happy to put one aside when a big new release comes along. Eg. I was playing FFIV but when X/X-2 HD Remaster came out it took priority since I loved it so much on PS2.

Well, kind of but not really. Right now I have many games that I should continue, but my priority at the time is Persona 3 FES, so everything else can wait.

I'd like to get back to FFX, but I've decided to finish P3 first.

i'm playing both Persona 3 fes and 4 atm

I've run multiple RPG's at once. Well.. the number was around 4 at the same time. Pokémon Fire Red, KH1, Spectrobes, I think the dinosaur fossil game, and Fire Emblem Awakening. Not an easy task, I repeatedly tried to assign dinosaurs for Sora to use with the Falcon and teach him Fly.

Wait, do you mean not at the literal same time?

All joking aside (though the story was true) I've run a lot of RPG's in-line. If you wanna do it, go for it, it's not hard. Just choose which one you wanna chip away at more and more at whatever time.

Sometimes I could have a dozen games going at once.

I'm actually playing a few RPGs at the same time currently. I'm playing through Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Golden Sun and Kingdom Hearts Re:CoM.

And that's even before I mention that I decided to replay through Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Final Fantasy VI, Xenoblade Chronicles and Dragon Age: Origins.

I really should just beat one before moving onto another one to be honest... xD

I would prefer to focus on one at a time, and I normally do. However, I've got 9 RPGs in my backlog (and I've come to accept that I'll probably never get around to a couple of them), and there are 10+ games (more than half of them being RPGs) out/coming soonish (admittedly, some like Persona 5 are way out there) that I want to buy. So I need to get going or else I'll be drowning in games. So right now I'm juggling Shin Megami Tensei IV, Tales of Graces f, and Etrian Odyssey Untold.

I tend to focus on one at a time, or at least I prefer to.  When I play more than one RPG simultaneously it seems that one (or both) never get completed and I end up abandoning a great game before I can ever enjoy it to its fullest.  It also prolongs my entertainment this way, so that I'm not always buying new games.

I know; easier said than done, right?  As a result, I *still* haven't opened Lightning Returns, and refuse to play The Wind Waker until I finish Twilight Princess, but different things work for everyone.  Gaming is meant to be fun, and if you're dying to try Earthbound now and you're growing tired of Xenoblade Chronicles because you want to play it then I'd say go for it!  It's all about having a good time in the end, not what you do or don't complete.
