Every time Atlantica and KH are mentioned in the same breath I get this reaction

Why? I admit the singing wasn't great, but I really liked the rhythm game element, though was really disappointed with the lack of "Kiss the Girl" It was a fun distraction from battle and a different experience then the 100 acre wood games. I don't expect it to return for a long time, if at all because we played the story and the sequel take place ten years later, it'l probably be replaced by Atlantis if they want an underwater world (I know time differences between worlds but I don't the Atlantica is just going to skip ahead 10 years since it didn't between KH and KH II) but I wouldn't mind. Though they could go back to how it was in the first game but give the world a unique battle system.

I loved Atlantica world in both KH and KH2 the music part was fun like you said and it's great seeing Sora having fun for a change. Rather than fighting waves of heartless and nobodies. The haters are just going to hate. But just note that you do have a fan of Atlantica right here ;)

I really loved Atlanctica. Honest and truly i did.

I just don't like it because it's The Little Mermaid of all things. I just don't like that movie. And the backround music annoyed me too.

Haters Gonna Hate :P

Well , it's just that some fans are getting bored of worlds like Atlantica or Agrabah . Personally , I liked the whole singing thing in KH I and II . It felt like a "break" from the usual KH fighting style . But , honestly , SE could have done a better job with those kinds of worlds .

I really don't mind it at all. It's not my favorite but I don't hate it either. I actually played KH2 first so the Atlantica world was a nice break from the "darkness" and a fun way for me to take my mind off the story for a few minutes. I guess people expected more from Atlantica or expected something completely different than what we got. Either way I still like both versions in the series.

Also, I didn't mind it, it just...kind of was awkward.

It's inconsistent and a waste of space, the fist one was great, but the change he second one so much I mean the had all the movement from the first time but the did that! Why are there even commands and compass to the other worlds it could have been better at lest pooh has been consistent... So thats why it's a waste of literal space.

It's not that anybody HATES Atlantica, it's just that due to the fact that it involves different forms of gameplay in each game it tends to get different reactions. It kind of falls into the Water Level theme, where everything has to be taken into consideration differently in terms of how to play. I like KH1 Atlantica a bit more because it was a bit of a challenge, but I admit I don't return there that much unless I need to. KH2 Atlantica didn't have as much of that. It probably could have been more fun if there was actual gameplay to it. The songs, looking back at it now, I only really liked it when they did covers of the original songs and Ursula's Revenge, everything else felt kind of B-class in terms of singing quality. I didn't mind Atlantica that much, but I got to admit I don't see much potential for it anymore and I'd really like to see another water based movie get the spotlight. In terms of water physics, I really liked the water section of Prankster's Paradise, it really felt like how being in water should be like, at least when you're not a merman. Atlantis would definitely be a fun world, and it would be really awesome if they got Michael J. Fox to portray Milo again!  xD

I like Atlantica in both Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Enough said. Besides Little Mermaid 2 takes place like 12 years after the first movie, so I don't think it will come in Kingdom Hearts 3. But it would be awesome that if Kingdom Hearts 4 takes place 12 years after Kingdom Hearts 3, because if it did than maybe maybe Sora and Kairi's child could team up with Ariel and Eric's daughter Melody.

I don't hate atlantica, but its still my least favorite world. The controls are a bit awkward,I often tend to confuse going up and down and you can't dodge roll

We didn't hate Atlantica but we didn't consider facing Sing It instead of Action RPG game.

I agree!

In Kingdom Hearts 1, it wasn't so much the world as it was the controls. I absolutely LOATHED the controls! I never got used to the whole swimming thing(I had more success with flying). And whenever you would fight an enemy, you would have to swim to them to hit them, leaving yourself vulnerable to being attacked. And as for Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts 2, I just thought it was a waist of time. Going there serves no purpose to advance the story and is just a distraction(like the 100 Acre Wood). I never even bothered going to that world.

My answer is going to be the same as most. I didn't mind it all that much. I think that some people felt it interfered with the flow of the gameplay. The controls were a tad bit annoying but tolerable. I just wish they would have given hime more exciting animations in his dolphin form to make attacking enemies a little more visually exciting. Sora is more sluggish in Kingdom Hearts 1 and to put those underwater kind of made it feel even more slow and slightly dull.

With the 2nd, I didn't hate it but I would have rather it have been a regular wolrd than what it was. Instead they made it like a Winnie the Pooh kinda thing.

Personally I like it in both games (though not as much in KH1 because I got lost pretty easily). But I understand some people either find the background music annoying, or didn't feel like doing the music game and just wanted to move on the plot.

No matter what anyone says, I still enjoy Atlantica
