I Don't Understand The Need For This

Well of course that's the only reason, He was out of commission for decades without Epic Mickey, no one would even know who he is. But without Steam Boat Willy no one would know who Mickey is, without FF VIII no one would know who Cloud is, without the first KH no one would know who Sora is. Epic Mickey may not of been Oswald's first appearance, but it may as well have been for how many people even knew he existed.

Oswald isn't an antagonist, he's just jealous not evil. More of an Anti-hero

Yeah but all he did was act like a jackass. There's literally nothing else to him.

Jealous of knowing that Mickey is a much better version of him which is also why he was trying to STEAL HIS HEART in Epic Mickey. EVIL!

Why rival? Why not ally? Besides, unless he had a Keyblade he couldn't really be considered Mickey's rival because rivals have to at least be able to be competition.

He doesn't need to have a Keyblade to be a rival. To be a rival he only needs to be able to hold up a fight. Whether he fights himself, has others to fight for him or something else which makes him a treat.

Also: what does that mean? D: Of course there is something to achieve, we got a creepy old man and his army of clones trying to take over the world! Furthermore, how is throwing in the failed version of Mickey Mouse going to help that?

It's funny that you mention that: the entire plotline of Xehanort, his clones, the X-Blade, 13 darks vs 7 lights, etc, were all introduced extremely late in the overarching plotline, and superimposed upon everything that came before, often awkwardly and without making sense to the preexisting canon. BBS and DDD both invented plot points and devices and then retconned other parts of the series in order to make them work (Nobodies growing hearts and the point of Organization XIII, for instance). The point is, Nomura is no stranger to simply inserting things into the plot and then making vague reasons as to why they exist and work in sync with the other games. If he wanted to force-feed Oswald into the plot, it certainly wouldn't be anything new from what he's done before.

They made up in the end though, remember? The version of Oswald in KH III could be closer to his Power of Illusion or Epic Mickey 2 version. Have you played either of those? Or even read a synopsis? He's a much more agreeable character in those. They could just make a vague mention about their past with Oswald saying something like "Sorry for... everything. I was in a bad place."

Maybe, but it seems like the Keyblade kind of trumps everything, doesn't it?

No, because they sucked.

And... I... *sigh* You win. I think I understand now. Now stop throwing logic at my face, know it all.

I could see Oswald showing up in a Timeless River kind of deal.

Why people wants him? He's a bunny, Jesus. Need I say more?

Oswald is the original Disney character! And plus if they could put Julius in KH3D, then why can't they put Oswald in at some point? I like Oswald and no matter what anyone says about him, I will always like him.

Why can`t they just not include the Epic Mickey Canon and instead use the Oswald from 50-70 years ago?

Pretty sure the only reason Oswald is popular is because of Epic Mickey. Just Saiyan.

Actually, as far as Japan goes, Oswald became popular before the idea of Epic Mickey was conceived.  They started making Oswald merchandise in 2005 and became so popular they were included in UFO catchers (which are everywhere in Japan).

I see him appear in a side game mayby just mayby.

Don't know better not I want Mickey to be unique.

Meant to google Oswald the Rabbit but accidentally clicked Oswald of Carim

I mean, I wouldn't object to a Dark Souls and KH crossover but...

I would buy that game nine times.

Well, I'll be honest. I dont know who that is lol

Hey, don't make me sound like an asshole, I just DON'T GET IT.-_-

I'm not saying anybody who believes the opposite is wrong, or an idiot, or a sack of shit, or anything like that. I. Do Not. Get It.

And you know what, the reason I'm even presenting it this way is so that other people who do get it can convince me otherwise. As you so clearly said (even though it was so sarcastically put), human beings can have different opinions.

I agree with you somewhat. Oswald doesn't have a place in the Xehanort Saga. But I believe that he can have a place in the next one. Like in KH4 or something. Certainly in that game he can be a part of a new world and be a new plot device in a new plot. He'll just be a new character. In fact, he can be a minor character. New characters get introduced in new plots. it makes sense, right?

Why can`t they just not include the Epic Mickey Canon and instead use the Oswald from 50-70 years ago?

I already do. As far as I'm concerned, Castle of Illusion, Epic Mickey, Power of Illusion and Epic Mickey 2 all take place between Chi and BbS.

I know they're not canon and Square has nothing to do with them but IDC

This is a good idea! That way everyone will be happy. For Oswald fans, he'll make an appearance. For those who hate him, he won't be PERMANENTLY in the game. Eerybody wins! :D

Also, I don't really care about Oswald being in there or not. I just really want to revisit the Timeless River! That was one of my favorite worlds!

  • 2 weeks later...

I certainly don't care for THAT characater haha. Let's have Pete's wife in a game and see how it works out.

Lol oswald is the master mind behind the whole series he's controlling xehanort with mind control, And mickey knows it he's just keeping it a secret so everyone dosent think he's a traitor. xD
