how much did you like kingdom hearts chain of memories?

Posted

personally i loved it i loved everything about it especially the story it was definitely one of the more darker toned kingdom hearts games i loved the whole concept of "to find is to lose & to lose is to find" i loved the way sora changed as his obsession for namine drove gooby & doland (LOL) away () in his search for namine i also really really really loved marluxia as a charecter for many reasons such being the incarnation of death (DOOM) in the english version he frequently proclaims himself to be the "lord of the castle" while in the japanese version he seid "god of this castle" i liked how in riku's playthough they went all "DRAGON BALL Z" like when riku fought lexeous & he powered his ki(LOL) darkness and how riku could sense marluxia when sora mercilessly killed him with no remorse (LOL sora's face after he beat marluxia). i thought it was kinda weird how many elements from com went unused in the latter installments like how charecters could feel others energies or how riku could smell darkness anyhow did you like com or did you hate it because of the card system ruin your experience personally i liked the card system.

Honestly I didn't care to much for it, the only good part was when we got to Riku's story then I felt at ease.

Hate the combat system, but I like the story. Not to mention it features the stranger members of the Organization. xD However, am I the only one who found the Marluxia battle to be a little creepy? I mean, what on EARTH is that flying angel of death thing holding his sythe?

I really liked it . Especially the whole storyline thingy .

The combat system in KH Re CoM was just so boring and annoying to be honest, sure it created some cool combo's but it just wasn't my type of game.

I really don't get why people hate on the card system so much, I found it to be a unique and creative way to battle.  Not only was it a fun variant of the normal Kingdom Hearts combat, but it also made you think of what cards to have in your deck, and it also made you come up with strategies to defeat the bosses in the game, and other powerful enemies!  I loved the battle system very much, and I loved the story because of how intriguing it was, for it showed how far Sora would go to save someone in need, even if it meant pushing his friends away.  The introduction to Organization XIII was very cryptic and mysterious, and Marluxia was one hell of a character. To this day he remains my favorite Organization member!  I loved both Sora's and Riku's stories, for they were both well done.  I loved Riku's in particular since that's where he began his journey of redemption, and we could see it firsthand!  I love Com/Re:Com, and I will always have good words to say about it. :)

because it was awful!? And boring!?

I liked the gameplay alot actually, i thought it was a nice break from the normal gameplay, and it felt like a mix of Turn based and RPG in a good way, since you could "end someones turn" with a card, and vice versa. It had more strategy involved in it than most of the games. Plus the sleights are awesome and OP. Although, i admit, if i hadn't played the GBA COM originally, Re:COM would've probably been alot harder. I also REALLY liked the story.

100% agree with this, Gameplay and story was really nice. PS3 1.5 version amused me the best though.

I do have to say they did create some unique abilities with the card a maybe they will bring a small part with the cards back into KH3 I'll be down for that.

I really did like the story a lot it just the gameplay that ruined it for me.

Yeah I agree that it has one of the best stories and is very dark. The members of the Org.XIII look much more powerful then in KHII, maybe because of the card battle system, where they release freaking awesome skills. Though I also thought it was a little tiring... I don't remember why.

First it was bit complicated but on my next account I learned to use much of the sleights then it was more easiliy.

The plot was okay. Maybe I would have liked it better if the whole Namine thing wasn't spoiled for me. :P And the gameplay was godawful.

I somewhat agree with this. I thought the plot was decent, but the combat part is just frustrating.

I liked it, but mostly because of how nostalgic the GBA version is to me.

I loved it. Then again I may be biased because the GBA version was the first Kingdom Hearts game I ever actually played

I didnt like the combat but i liked the story a lot, it was completely new and no one expected that much of story to the game.

Chain of Memories is an under-estimated title because of its combat system. Most of the people says "Cards? What the hell?!" but I have to say Card System is awesome because of the majestic tricks you can do by combining them (Do you remember Megaflare huh?). The story is very important and I love the "Reverse/Rebirth" where you can play as Riku. Sometimes it's a bit repetitive (especially in Disney Worlds where you have to do always the same thing, find cards and defeat bosses) but fighting against the members of the Organization XIII (especially against Larxene) is very enjoying in my opinion.

I like it. The story is very good in my opinion, and I love the atmosphere. The battle system is nice too, in Sora's side of the game (they kinda ruined it in reverse/rebirth because you couldn't choose your own deck). It's pretty unique and requires a bit of thinking which is refreshing.

What bugs me in the game are the worlds, though, since they are ultimately boring, especially in Reverse/Rebirth where I just rushed through each world as quickly as I could. The regular battles get annoying after a while too, and disney-boss battles are nothing new. Luckily orgXIII -bosses make up for them. Though I still think Marluxia was way too easy.

the overall story was good, tho i found fighting int he same world as KH1 a bit boring.... and the card system was a pain in the neck >.>

I really enjoyed it. But I may be biased because it was my first KH game

I enjoyed playing a CoM emulator. The gameplay is fun on CoM, but stupid and not intense on Re:CoM. And having actual fighting in scenes was cool too(but when I think of that I only think of Vexen...)... And getting to play as Riku was neat, especially that Dark Mode thing.

the remake was nice tho

7/10 story wise and also gameplay wise. Though the gameplay was hard it was pretty much the beginnings of the deck commands! But I hated how enemies could not only block your attacks, but stop them from happening!

And Riku mode gets a 6/10 for gameplay because you can't even chose your cards! But I guess I actually found his play-through easier than Sora's. And story wise I thought it was better! 9/10!
