Has anyone ever noticed this? (Deep Dive Trailer)

Fool. Early concept that was changed. It was known that he was a Nobody. The yellow eyes just must have changed significance somewhere down the line.

Its probably like that BBS trailer. Terra has ansem/xemnas like eyes but in the game they are just blue.

hmmm that's a good qustion maybe he was suppose to be a nort?

We know Xigbar, Saix, and Xehanort all gain yellow eyes as they fall deeper into Darkness. Perhaps Nomura made slight revisions to the timeline before Roxas was revealed properly, in which Roxas was corrupted by the Darkness by Xion's destruction, after which Riku gives him a beatdown to bring him back to his senses.

Of course, this is all off the assumption that the one in the Dark Realm was Roxas. In all his appearances in the cinematic, you can see a tuft of yellow hair sticking out form under the hood. The figure you refer to has no such tuft of hair. It might have been someone else altogether who was later removed from the timeline of the game.

Or Xemnas

This was definitely created before the yellow eyes indicated that Xehanort was inside somebody. Most likely, they used the yellow eyes in this trailer to show that this person was a Nobody, and every human-Nobody was most likely going to have yellow eyes simply to indicate that they were a Nobody.

Those eyes will forever haunt me in my nightmares! xD

JK, but that does peak my curiosity.

He was just an early concept then. They were probably going to make him the bad guy then.

Yeah, I made a whole thread about it.

Fool. In the trailer, they turn from blue to yellow symbolizing him letting the darkness in after he saw Ventus get hurt.

Probably old concept art, I noticed that to but I was kinda lazy about it because I played Roxas and only saw his eyes yellow when Vanitas took over his body. And if it wasn't him I just expected a new villian

I don't think they planned far enough ahead to make a connection with Xehanort. Just a common aesthetic choice for antogonistic things in Kingdom Hearts (I think some heartless have yellow eyes too... Like Shadows). This may have been made before he came up with a design for Nobodies so may have used Heartless characteristic in this character that was related to Sora.

Okay, we all know the Secret Trailer at the end of KH1. Y'know with the 'Spicky Blonde Kid' we didn't know about. Now, this thing I noticed in the trailer I have been wondering about I never really thought much of it. Now I'm actually quite curious if anyone else ever noticed it.

At 0:35 you see Roxas leaning to the side, in which his eyes glow yellow. We all know Roxas has blonde hair and blue eyes nazi jk, I didn't think it was a big deal. But now I'm actually wondering why is his eyes yellow? What do you guys think?

Maybe since this was before KH2, maybe Roxas was originally supposed to be a heartless, cue the yellow eyes or maybe just an evil character related to Ansem in some way. Maybe it was just a small character design that Nomura made and decided blue eyes was better.

What do you guys think? Obviously the yellow eyes wasn't there for no reason.

It was an early concept. In fact, at the end of the video you see Mickey, but then, in 358/2 days (and also in some flashbacks in KHII) Mickey doesn't appear. I guess Roxas' yellow eyes in this secret video has nothing to do with "Xehanort's eyes".

Ventus' eyes are gray, right? HAHA maybe they fought a blondy should have eyes matching his hair and then changed to blue since he was going to be Sora's nobody. SOMETHING should be equal to Sora, right?

I think it was Nomura wanted to give him yellow eyes originally but changed his mind while working on KHII.

Fool. In the trailer, they turn from blue to yellow symbolizing him letting the darkness in after he saw Ventus get hurt.

But Nomura himself stated that it was an "error", more specifically a concept that eventually changed. This is because at first, the yellow eyes symbolized a very close contact with the darkness but then, Nomura decided to give the yellow eyes the meaning of nortification. That's also probably why Roxas had yellow eyes in Deep Dive, because he's a dark version of Sora, just like Sora's Heartless

Ahh the good old times look how dark and badass this made 358/2 days look.

I think it was a style over substance thing

...What? o-o

They are? xD I didn't notice.

Then again I think this secret trailer was just showing what they have in mind for the next game, there are a lot of differences between this and 358/2 days.

i suppose they're Yellow 'cause they're shining in the dark or 'cause roxas' eyes color was yet to be decided xD
