Okay, so we all know that the X-blade was shattered into 13 pieces of darkness & 7 pieces of light during the keyblade war. My question is, by what? Do you think someone intentionally destroyed it in hopes of ending the war or other reasons? Do you think maybe it self-destructed to protect Kingdom Hearts? Do you guys have any guesses as to who or what caused the destruction of the X-blade?

Whoever or whatever broke it did a poor job, they should've made it an even 10-10

Organization X would make more since, given Xehanort's obsession with 'X' but Nomura has a strange obsession with XIII, so that's what it is.

This is quite possibly the best question ive read on this site. It would have had to be something of equal power or greater obviously. But I have no idea.

Not EVERY story needs every single detail explained. It's sometimes better to leave people thinking and wondering about bits and pieces.

If Kingdom Hearts can be said to be sentient, then it follows that the x-blade must be too because how could something without sentience protect something that has it? I think the Self-destruct theory is the most likely.

Either that or

Nomura broke it himself so he could make the Kingdom Hearts series

That'd be interesting! But I don't know if it has a mind of its own so I don't know about this.

Magic . Freaking magic .

Faulty craftsmanship. I mean, I can see a sword breaking in two, but shattering into twenty pieces indicates that the thing had the structural integrity of a piece of glass.

Wow, thanks. So glad my curiousity could be the best question you've read on tthis site. :)

That's your opinion. I for one like to know the facts. KH has a TON of 'use your imagination' gaps in the story. The destruction of the X-blade is pretty important, so excuse me for being curious about what could have destroyed it. The point of this thread was to actually see what people thought happened, so instead of contributing to the conversation, you just said people should think about it, which is exactly what a discussion thread, such is this one is for. BOOM. Case closed.

I guess it self-destructed in order to not let anyone touch Kingdom Hearts...

I would say that it's a sentient being, but I feel like it really isn't. Maybe Chi will explain that. Maybe one of the Clan leaders destroyed it, or they all destroyed it in agreement.

You started that paragraph saying this was my opinion, and then you go on a rant about it? Well, geez...

I was just saying that, maybe you don't actually want to know. Sometimes that's better, since it might not pay off in the end and you'll just go, "Oh, it was only that? That was disappointing."

But whatever, I'll just leave the conversation if I bother you that much. =/

The "X" Xehanort is obsessed with is a letter, not a Number. In the game it means destruction, if I recall correctly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My guess would be that someone accidentally destroyed it during the conflict.

Could be anything literally. Could be self destruction, could be the war itself..too many possibilities to try and guess one

I'd probably guess that either since it was a war, it got unintentionally destroyed in battle OR it was deliberately destroyed be two warriors, one of light and one of darkness, who both sought to end the war between them by destroying the Goal: The X-Blade...but they ultimately led to their own demise as the Worlds were then swallowed by Darkness.

But then again, it's just a theory.

Your opinion is more than welcome, you're entitled to it. I just don't see the point in saying what you said. Instead of contributing to the topic, you basically just put me down by saying I shouldn't be curious about things such as this. The fact that you think some things should be left up to imagination is your opinion & I respect that, but I like the facts & the point of this thread is to share non-factual theories about the matter. They're sharing their imagination, just like you said they should.

I'm aware, but iit's still an 'X' so it'd be fitting. Plus, the Guardians of Light & Seekers of Darkness would be at relatively even odds. I believe Xehanort said the 'X' represents death.
