Sup, how ya doing? So, I wanted to ask you guys a big, big, big favor, ENORMOUS. Do you know how can I contact Square Enix? It's not about customer service, it's about.. joining them. I'm a Musician and personally started to Love Music thanks to Yoko Shimomura's Music in the Kingdom Hearts series, she's what inspires me. My Music genre is, in fact, mainly VG Music and Movie SoundTracks. Lately I've been sending an e-mail to a CEO working for a very famous movie franchise because my father, listening to my latest composition, said he could actually imagine it as a SoundTrack for the next movie of that franchise; but I strongly think that, even though I do make Movie SoundTracks genre, my composing style isn't adequate for that movie franchise but would definitely fit in a Fantasy context instead, which is very familiar in Square Enix videogames. I know that making Music for Kingdom Hearts would be out of discussion because Yoko Shimomura is the only composer, but I have to admit that it would be HELLA cool if I could participate in the project xD Anyway, my request is for Square Enix in general, hoping me and my Music could have a place. The perfect thing would be working with both Tetsuya Nomura and Yoko Shimomura :'D (one can dream). One more thing, if that doesn't make this more impossible than it is already, I'd like to ask you if you know how can I contact Yoko Shimomura as well. This is mainly because I want to give her the biggest thanks she could ever receive, even though it would be awesome if I could collaborate with her as I said previously xD So guys, can you help me? Many, many, MANY thanks in advance! xD

Could I see some work?

You mean mine? The majority of my works are not online due to trial and error process in both growing my style and getting the best quality out of my poor equipment, but I do have a recent track that I could show you. Here's the link of the thread in which I posted it:http://kh13.com/forum/topic/77553-my-newest-orchestral-theme/

If you want to send in an application go here

tbe.taleo.net/CH01/ats/careers/jobSearch.jsp?org=SQUARE_ENIX&cws=1

I know a guy on twitter (@skywardwing) who got in contact with them so you can ask him what he did. For reference he is a kingdom hearts tuber and while I can't say why he did it (he told the people who came to his meet up and asked us not to share it), he managed to get in contact with someone there and get what he requested. Just make sure your fully prepared once you get to talk to someone.

Fool. You don't come to them, they come to you. First off, get your music known. If Square likes your stuff and feel like it's what they're looking for, then you've got a chance. I guarantee you will be ignored if you try contacting them and saying, "Hey, I want to work for you. I make music that I think is good and you should listen to it."

Yeah, I know SkywardWing! Thanks for helping, I'm very grateful for this

Whether it works or not, I wish you luck and hope to hear any of your music sometime. :)

Thanks a lot, you can find a link to a composition of mine few comments back if you're curious xD

Thanks for your concern, but I'm not sure it is ALWAYS like that.. Like castings, they mainly works through candidates, don't they?

Fool. I guarantee you. What do you mean by candidates?

For instance, when Square Enix designed Piano Collections, Hiroyuki Nakayama, who performed the rearrangements, first participated as a candidate along with others. The same example could be made with Actors, who often get the part through casting, they don't always get chosen by the producers

Don't mean to burst your bubble... But I highly doubt you will be able to work on the score Square Enix title just because your father said he could hear it in a movie. Establish some great credentials and then go to Square. Nothing's impossible, but as for right now, you'd be lucky to work on a video games score.

Wait, don't misunderstand my words, I always had this in mind by myself! The thing about my father is that he suggested me to contact that specific movie franchise because he, being a former Musician, said could fit; that's all xD

I'm not saying you're father is pushing you into the business it's just you're going to have a tough ass time getting in with no prior backing. Not to mention you're American... They do most of the music in Japan... Unless it's remastering it which in case is done up in Boston.

Actually.. I'm Italian, and I live in a three thousand inhabitants Town.. I don't have many opportunities, that's why I try to create them myself xD

Good luck with your ambitions

Thanks a lot, really xD

Fool. Right, but it's not like it's an open casting call. They still come to you one way or another. And I'm assuming you have never really got your music out there or sold it. Right now, to them, you're a nobody.

I indeed am a nobody in this world, that's why I want to prove the contrary! Not that I will contact them immediately, but I will once my situation gets stable and then, I'll need to make them hear myself

Well my good friend, I can't be of any help since I don't know where to contact Nomura or Yoko, but I wanted to say that I admire your passion for your dream, and I really hope that you continue to follow your heart to make your dream come true!  With hard work and dedication, I know you can make it!  I wish you the best of luck my friend, and if you get the chance to compose music for any Kingdom Hearts game, I can proudly say to my friends: "Hey, I know that guy!  He's a friend of mine in KH13!"  Good luck buddy, you deserve it! :D

You definitely have been of much help instead.. Support and people who believe in me, that's just what makes me stronger! I always had a problem with self reputation since my self-esteem always been located under my shoes.. but not for this. I'm still faltering sometimes but I'm firmly convinced that I CAN do it, no matter what.. But I do need people who believe in me for me too. I don't know if I've been clear, probably not, but I hope my feelings could reach people's Heart someday, so that they can understand what I can't explain with words..and I intend to transmit them with my Music. Thank you a lot, my friend :D
