i love Super Mario Bros Wii, New Super Mario Bros, New Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario 3D Land, but every time i played one of those games i think to myself "Why are Mario Games soooo easy nowadays?"

I want Super Mario 3D World, (when i get a WiiU) but all the power ups just makes all the Mario games easy.

look at Super Mario Bros 2, i love that it was all about the coins. but get 100 coins i get a free life and that was still in the game. in other words, i got 200 lifes before fighting Bowser. i didn't get one game over in that game. and it took me 5 days to beat it tooooo easy.

Super Mario Bros 3 however is another story that game was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard it took me a few months to beat it. really, World 1 was easy World 2 and 3 were getting me ready for the rest World 4 (my fav) 5 and 6 were telling me this is no joke World 7 and 8 were hard as **** i back tracked to other worlds to get power ups and 1-ups AND I STILL LOST!!!!

I wish Mario games would go back to being hard like Super Mario Bros 3. sorry for this long rant Talk.

New super Mario bros. is hard for me, Co-op, 4 player and solo!

The Super Mario 3D and super Mario Galaxy games are easy.

Would a six year-old want to play a very difficult game?

Mario games are usually made to appeal to general audiences.

Games in general are easier now because they don't have to rely on forced difficulty to make up for ROM limitations. With that said, there's still brutally hard levels in Mario games, even if they have to be in the secret zones. Just look at Champion's Road in 3D World. lol

Well Super Mario 3D world has special worlds after beating the game and those worlds are much harder than the regular ones

That Road was a nightmare,it took me over 150 lives just to beat it

Haha xD I find all Super Mario games hard! Seriously my difficulty level on games is Pokemon xD

Super Mario Bros 3 wasn't that hard to be honest compared to Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island

Also recent Mario games aren't that easy or too hard, they just usually have a balanced difficulty so it can appeal to both casual players and Mario experts

A game doesn't have to be ultra super hard in order to be fun.Heck Sonic Generations is one of the easiest Sonic games I've ever played yet it was a ton of fun to play

Mario games are fun,I like the recent Mario games but I wish they were not so easy.Kid these days are not dumber then we were as kids and we had games like Super Mario bros 3 which was really hard and frustrating sometimes, but it was super fun and satisfiying to beat.Even games like New Super Luigi U which is advertised as a hard game, its still easy.

Super Mario 3D World is definitly a step in the right direction though with the bonus worlds and the multiple playable characters that kinda changes the difficulty of each level depending on who you pick, but even that its not enough. In my opinion,Mario games needs difficulty settings,A normal mode for the casual players who just want to have fun and hard mode with more challenging enemy placement, enemies could attack a bit faster, make Mario jumps less floaty so that every jumps feels a bit more scary like in the old games, that would be awesome.

Like a lot of others here said, they make them so that they're fun for any age. The main game is easy, but they usually have challenges (collecting star coins/stars) and bonus levels at the end for older players who want more of a challenge. 3D World's post-game got brutal sometimes. Even some main game levels were tough.

Mario games are challenging if youre trying to 100% them.

It depends on the game,Super Mario 3D World is hard to 100%,but not the New Super Mario bros game and the Super Mario Galaxy games,I find that only like 5% of the missions are really challenging. Its not that challenging to collect star coins or to find green stars

I find them okay. But I'm not a big fan of platformers. Mario Kart's great though.
