Nintendo's made a lot of characters over the years, but who's your favorite? Once again, we're only going with first and second party characters (Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc.) Only one per post, please!

 

Anyway, mine is this guy right here:

 

Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles. The guy has a really cool ability (Visions from the future) that are actually integrated well in the gameplay, and his weapon, the Monado, is possibly my favorite weapon in a video game. I also really like his design, and his personality.

Link from Zelda.  Zelda and Mario are the only games I really play from Nintendo.  And while Mario's fun I don't think there's really that much interesting going on in the Mario universe to favor him.  I've always loved the Legend of Zelda though.  So Link.

I'm gonna have to go with either Luigi or Dark Pit.

Solid Snake.

It's a dificult choice. I love so many Nintendo characters, from Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda to Shulk, Reyn, Dunban, and Fiora from Xenoblade. Choosing a favorite is sadly impossible for me. Some highlights though, are:

 

The Earth Dragon from Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, for his traditional Chinese dragon style they take with him in terms of personality. His design is cool, and I really like the plotpoint they have with him.

 

I have a tie between Dunban and Shulk from Xenoblade, Dunban for being really cool, he's the traditional RPG hero with the flowing hair and the amazing skills, Shulk shows what you can do by choosing your own destiny. He is an amazing character overall.

 

I love Hades from Kid Iccirus Uprising. He's a textbook troll through and through with a awesome cool and level headed personality, constantly toying with Pit and Co., and just in general being hilarious and amazing.

 

I love Erica and Ephraim from Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones, a brave warrior prince and a kind princess, being twins didn't stop them from being diffrent in any way or keep them from being good friends. They were sensible and kind to people, and they are both powerful, and both great leaders.

Ike from Fire Emblem 9 has always been a big favorite of mine. He's got probably one of the best fleshed out personalities I've seen in a game, where he manages to defy archtypes and actually have different angles to his character and interactions. Also, I love that he's grumpy, but not broody or impolite. In fact, the parts where he's more than willing to apologize for coming off as blunt really sells the character for me, because a good hero should always be polite. I also really like how his rise to being the leader of the group is contested and frowned upon, and rather than have the nay-sayers outright vilified, Ike is smart enough to know that he doesn't know everything right off the top of his head, and uses the other people in the party and takes council.

Don't want to count Pokemon since it's a easy route, but choosing some other character is difficult.
