Dio Brando 5,810 Posted August 29, 2014 Don't tell me I have to buy this 3DS to play the future games! You don't have to,it's just for very few selective games They're idolizing the new 3DS over the Wii U. How?It's only a new model, where did you get the idea from? Also,3DS is their best selling system right now so of course they want it to sell more
Oishii 3,987 Posted August 29, 2014 One thing I can forsee being a problem is the younger 3DS owners who get their 3DS games from their parents. Not all young kids are going to seek out game news and know about this, and their parents are less likely to do so. I can imagine there will be kids asking for Xenoblade, their parents buy it for them and low and behold the 3DS won't play it. Then the parents will march angrily to the store to be told, 'Oh, that game is for the "new" 3DS'. Parents aren't going to like this upgrade cause there really isn't much visible difference in the model. 2 Sora96 and DragonMaster reacted to this
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted August 29, 2014 http://neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=884846 and there we go. It's confirmed that new titles in the future will be exclusive to the new model. Now I just hope they're all games I have no interest in. Yep. Lol. I think Dolphin was the project name. Still, certain selected games not all future 3DS games. Also, here is an idea for you.....don't buy it here...problem solved

It's the type of game aimed towards serious JRPG players, and it's a lot more mature than other Nintendo games (Death, blood, swearing, suggestive themes, etc.) Although that could become an issue for other games. 1 Oishii reacted to this

Nintendo really needs ti get better at naming their consoles. It's bad enough that they named their next gen system the "Wii U" because most people think it's just a add on to the Wii. 1 Oishii reacted to this

DragonMaster 1,166 Posted August 29, 2014 Well, I don't really care in the case of this game, since I tried Xenoblade on the Wii and didn't like it. But I am fearful there will come a game that I really want and it will be exclusive to the New 3DS. Honestly, maybe it's selfish, but I'd rather this never existed. Or at least they had never decided to up the things power to the point games can't be played on the older 3DS's anymore. But maybe it will be like the DSi exclusive games, hardly any, and even less that were that good. For how much people love to complain about every single thing Nintendo does, I've noticed far fewer complaints about this than I would've expected. X_X I swear I'll never understand people. The naming scheme kinda reminds me when Apple released the "New iPad"... I honestly find it just as stupid when Nintendo does it. (And wow, I think this is the most negative I've ever been about Nintendo...)

It's going to be more than just Xenoblade though, that's what I'm worried about since I have no interest in this certain title but worry it might be a requirement for a game I want to play in the future. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted August 30, 2014 You know, I had heard great things about this game, and I want to play it, but apparently I have to have a new model 3DS or else it won't work! I'll just buy the Wii version. I won't waste money on another 3DS when I already have a perfectly working 3DS system! Ugh, Nintendo, sometimes you can be so nonsensical. Xenoblade's probably going to be the best game on the system, though. : Just saying. Also, you could just sell your old 3DS if you really need one. D: Once again, you can sell the old one after transferring the data. It's basically an upgrade. I personally don't mind. However, be sure to get Xenoblade in whatever way to can. It's definitely worth it. It and Smash Bros are the two best games I played last generation, and I don't see that ever changing.
