Gamers have been waiting to play Final Fantasy XV for a long time, but a chance to sample the gameplay is coming soon. A downloadable demo for the next numbered Final Fantasy will be available in 2015, and lets players see some opening sections of the game in action.

 

Square Enix is calling the demo Episode Duscae, and though it focuses on the early parts of the game, some elements of the progression have been altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience.

 

Some players will be able to get Episode Duscae for free thanks to a voucher included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which releases on March 17 in North America. A representative from Square Enix could not confirm that the demo will be available the exact same day as Type-0 HD, but it will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One when it does release.

 

 

Our Take

For the prospects of Final Fantasy XV when it releases in full, this really needed to happen. For years, all we have seen of the game is cryptic trailers and minimal updates. The time for teasing is over; we've reached the point where gamers just need to see Final Fantasy XV in action, and I'm glad that Square Enix has realized that. Hopefully, after playing the demo, everyone who has been looking forward to this game since its reveal in 2006 can have some renewed hope for its future. As long as Episode Duscae doesn't release too long after Type-0 HD, at least.

Yeah, Type-0 isn't as big of a deal since it's just a game that they already had. If it was XV coming out this much earlier, the Japanese would have a fit.

Finally something! I had almost given up all hope for FFXV.

Hmmm interesting a demo would be nice to have for this game that being said it would be better if we had a little more info on the game like how much of it is completed it must be abour at least 60% in order for them to have a demo by that time so hopefully we could get XV around winter 2015 or early 2016

 

So not only do we get a good FF game people have wanted in the West for years brought over as an HD remake for PS4 and Xbone in a few months, but it comes with a demo of FFXV, which people have been waiting for eight years?

Yeah 2015 would be a nice year to bring it in. Though if it were to come in that year than it would possibly release on either the fall or winter.

Square Enix has confirmed everything.

A staff member from Square Enix said there was no official release date for the FFXV demo. The code to access the demo will come with Type-0 but there's no official date to tell us when we can actually use that code to get the demo.

The team is making everything they can to get it out in March 2015 though...so that's good news

They are definitely releasing it in March but we don't know when exactly. We have a release window...but not a date.

Also they said the demo would be 3-4 hours long so I'm sure it'll be worth it when it comes out and they said a special surprise for the fans after you beat the demo so I'm not worried!
