Amazon.co.jp have released seven sample pages for the official upcoming Ultimania companion book for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, titled Kingdom Hearts Series Memorial Ultimania that will release in Japan on October 2, 2014. The sample pages showcase the various games in the series, screenshots, renders, artwork and more. Amazon.co.jp also confirm the book will feature a belt cover. Looks like Rikku correct, but it's more likely an early design for Yuffie. Could have used her as a base since Nomura was working on FFX's character design at the same time.

I had heard that Rikku was considered before Yuffie but was not used as to not cause confusion between Rikku and Riku.

Sora was going to to be a lion hybrid thing. Mickey Mouse was once considered as the main character.Kairi was said to be created due to Disney pushing for a female lead. It was supposed to be just Sora and Riku. I think this is a myth though
