November 23, 201410 yr And the day is saved once again... Well, if anything good came out of this, I like Roxasrox 37.5% more now for agreeing with me
November 23, 201410 yr Gosh, people need to calm down and realize that Nomura wasn't a big contributor to Square Enix's "decline" as they think he is. If anything, Square Enix's former president, Yoichi Wada, was a bigger contributor for putting too much faith into the company's staff and being extremely lenient on deadlines. November 23, 201410 yr Oh when I said it you were saying I have desired fantasies but when he said literally the same thing he's right? Just noticed his fourth point. 4-After seven years, he got booted off Final Fantasy Versus XIII/XV and needed Tabata to basically save the project in record time. To put it more gingerly, he was fired off of the project after wasting seven years of money and resources and getting absolutely nowhere with it. Source please? And the day is saved once again...Well, if anything good came out of this, I like Roxasrox 37.5% more now for agreeing with me Aw. I was hoping for 37.6%
November 23, 201410 yr Moving it where? Can we go to Italy?I've always wanted to go to italy Random and Guys remember to keep it civil
November 23, 201410 yr Moving it where? Can we go to Italy?I've always wanted to go to italy I've never been on a plane. Will it be an overnight stay or do I have to bring my plunger?
November 23, 201410 yr Oh, it'll be civil alright It'll be a goddamn civil war! Not really, I just thought that sounded cool
November 23, 201410 yr Source please? http://www.novacrystallis.com/2014/09/nomura-comments-on-his-departure-from-final-fantasy-xv/ If he was leaving with amicable reasons, the usual copy-and-paste reply is "We all agreed that this was the best course of action, and that it allows my team to fully commit to Kingdom Hearts III", or maybe "I feel that I have contributed enough to reallocate my priorities to deliver the best of both games." Instead, his copy-and-paste reply was "It was the company's decision, I can't say any more than that." That's called a corporate gag order. It comes standard with getting ejected off a project. Kicked off is another way to put it. Shown the door is another effective metaphor. Or, if you're extremely literal minded, he was no longer welcome among the development staff. I still think that's too much conjecture to blindly assume as fact. You really think Nomura did nothing with the 7 years he spent on XV and that none of that work is present in the final product? I think that's more than false.
November 23, 201410 yr But...they're not really doing anything about it though. They're like the kid who writes on the chalkboard that he won't be bad anymore a hundred times, then just repeats the routine the next day. It's like....they admitted that lately they've had too big of a focus on mobile titles. What did they just announce two days ago? A whole lot of mobile titles. Biggest complaint with XIII? How linear it was. XIII-2 and LR are definitely not linear. FFXV's going to be an open-world game. FFXVI's going to be 17 times the size of Skyrim. FFXIV 1.0 was a disgrace. They completely rebuilt it and made it one of the best MMOs on the market. Square Enix is very open about developing more mobile titles because it's A LOT cheaper and they make A LOT of money. One billion yen in a month on just one free game. They announce more mobile titles since they have two divisions made for mobile titles.
November 23, 201410 yr @Sora96: Well, it's still one step forward and three steps back. They fix the popular issue, then introduce a plethora of new ones. Though, to be sure, A Realm Reborn kicks serious ass. I've been having a blast with it since the closed beta, so I like to think that keeps me optimistic. And as for FF15, Tabata is handling it now. From his work history, to his entire attitude about developing it, I'm actually kind of looking forward to it again. But...a bromance depends on humor and character development along with chemistry between the brahs. Final Fantasy writing of recent times............hasn't exactly excelled at that. Not even the excellent Type-0. @Roxasrox: Then you've obviously never held a job with a big corporate entity. He was fired. And as for what he did during those seven years, we'll never really know because it seems quite obvious Square is trying to distance themselves from it. What we do know is what we've been shown over the span of those seven years, which was a whole lot of nothing interspersed between super pretty pre-rendered footage and some very choppy gameplay. What we do know is what we've been shown over the span of those seven years, which was a whole lot of nothing interspersed between super pretty pre-rendered footage and some very choppy gameplay. Again, until I see more evidence proving that's not just a guess, no matter how educated a guess it is, I'm not going to blindly assume that. The E3 2013 XV reveal footage was done while Nomura was still at the wheel, that was anything but choppy or nothing. It's more logical that Nomura simply wasn't needed on it anymore as he'd done enough and the rest was out of his hands. That's a guess as well, but it's just as valid. EDIT: Just came across this. Adding it for the record: "Famitsu points out that it was at last year’s E3 that the change of hardware and Tabata joining the development team were announced. “Yes, it was about a half a year after I began working on the trial product developed as Final Fantasy XV,which was approved, and then we officially continued the project as FFXV, and announced it at E3 in 2013,” says Tabata. He adds, “Afterwards, with the latest set of announcements, we said that the director has changed, but it wasn’t something that happened abruptly. When we transitioned to new hardware, the characters and main point of the story had already been solidified by [Tetsuya ]Nomura.” “Things like the content, techniques, and how to make the game better are some of the topics we’ve continually discussed with Nomura, the development team, and the management.”" http://www.siliconera.com/2014/09/22/final-fantasy-xv-changed-directors-nomuras-vision-remains-intact/#zsubzhZ4vBHpIlJQ.99 Edited November 23, 201410 yr by Roxasrox

November 23, 201410 yr (My reaction when watching the video) ..... ..... ...... ..... ..... ....... Welp... He deserves a dislike from moi. I could also reign down heck with a crudstorm comment while I'm at it. I'm tempted... But JIM is not worth my time. Nomura is awesome! That's his style when making these characters! End of story....
