Well, with Mario and Crash, I grew up with those two. Mega Man 2 seemed like the best starting point, so I went with that. I kind of wish I started Kirby with Super Star, but oh well.

I want to get into Metroid, but it hasn't been going well for me. I have Super Metroid, but I'm horrible at finding my way through it. I want to try out Prime when I get the chance.

i have super metroid but i cant play it without i guid and i also have prime but im waiting till i find the prime trilogy for a better price because i hear that its a better experience. i know i will like it when i get it tho.

I'm debating between getting the Prime Trilogy or getting the games separately. I'm not a big fan of motion controls, but at the same time, I don't see the Gamecube controller working too well in a first person game. The Trilogy is also really expensive.

for me i just cant play a game knowing that there is a remake or even enhanced port that is a better experience. OCD i guess.

Because Lucas is one of my favorite character in Brawl,I wanted to see what his game was all about and I couldn't get Earthbound until they release it on the Wii U Eshop years later and I still haven't play Mother 1,I'm waiting for the fan remake or a virtual console release.

a fan remake sounds awesome! but if you ever get tired of waiting for that to happen then you could always play the mother 1 unreleased translation.

I spent a dick of a lot of time on Fallout 3 on the 360 without ever knowing there was even a Fallout 1 or 2 (or Tactics, of BoS) which I'm sure pisses off all the old skool PC gamers. (To be honest, I think the original Fallout games do not hold up at all and transitioning to an FPS was probably the best thing for the series.)

 

Of the ones you mentioned:

 

Mario- Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins was my first Mario game, and I think my first video game ever (it was that or possibly Alleyway or the Game & Watch Gallery, I can't remember exactly). It's still my favorite 2D Mario game, too!

 

Megaman- Do the Battle Network games count as Megaman games? Because I played the shit out of 3,4 and 6 back in the day- I still have the Blue version of 3 lying around somewhere, too. I like them way more than the traditional Megaman games, though that one might just be nostalgia on my part.

 

Sonic- Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I played the first few Sonic games on my old Genesis back in the 90s, but SA2 on the Gamecube was the first Sonic game I really gave a shit about. I still have very fond memories of going over to a former friend's house to play it and how we would both air guitar and jam the firetruck out to the Crush 40 soundtrack. Glory days, man.
