AlixtheMagi13 245 Posted January 10, 2015 Whenever you play bbs you come to the worlds of a few princesses like Cinderella. The real question is a huge plot hole, they LOOK exactly the same as they did in Kingdom Hearts 1. Is it a huge plot hole,or was square too lazy to make longer character models? I know that Kingdom Hearts 1 came before Birth by Sleep, but still bbs takes place 10 years before hand. They should at least look a few years younger. 1 Ruby Rose reacted to this
Ruby Rose 8,591 Posted January 10, 2015 Unless you're Kairi, Sora, Riku, Hercules, or a future Organization XIII Member, you did not age from Birth by Sleep to the first game Nomura illogic 1 AlixtheMagi13 reacted to this
EternalChange 303 Posted January 10, 2015 Girls usually finish puberty long before guys, and the time from 20-30 doesn't usually involve very much biological change, especially if you're pampered like the princesses are. So I think the princesses looking pretty much the same in BBS isn't entirely unrealistic. 1 AlixtheMagi13 reacted to this

AlixtheMagi13 245 Posted January 10, 2015 Thank you so much. It was something I noticed just recently and just was confused on why they made no small change for kh1 to khbbs even if one game takes place 10 years before hand.

Cinderella spent the majority of her life in indentured servitude with an extreme emotionally abusive environment, and Snow White didn't have it too easy herself. The only one who might be considered pampered is Aurora, if only because she grew up in the most stable environment, and even then, she spent the better part of her life in a minimalist environment in the woods. 1 Handsome_the_Wise reacted to this
Forever 3,550 Posted January 10, 2015 Like Yen Sid, they use a very special age-defying creme. Even at 312, he's still perky and goin' strong!
Firaga 5,947 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Time moves differently in different worlds. ( Nomura's words) They even talk about this in DDD. Basically this. Also, Disney characters don't age past their initial design and appearance in the series, except Mickey and his group, I guess, because Timeless River was a thing. It's not because age shouldn't be taken into account for them or anything, it's just that, well, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things anyway. Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted January 10, 2015 They were in suspended sleep: they're all probably still the ages they were in BBS, so, as example, Cinderella is probably 17 or 18 in KH1, and 15 or 16 in BBS. Assuming they were kidnapped closely after BBS, then they didn't age at all.

I don't remember if they said when they were kidnapped in KH1: the first few were taken before Sora got involved. Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White were already in Hollow Bastion in KH1, insinuating they were taken sometime before Sora's world was destroyed, I thought. Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Because they're Disney characters. Disney characters don't age, unless they did so in their original movie (they could have used Cinderella's childhood design in BbS, but then there'd be no story). Square also probably didn't want to mess around with their designs out of respect for Disney. There is that whole "time moves differently between worlds" angle but my interpretation is different from most. I think time moves at the same rate universally, but each world stays in their own era. For example, Enchanted Dominion is permanently stuck in the 14th century while Deep Jungle is always in the 1930s. But yeah, unless you a KH original character, a Final Fantasy character or you age in your original movie, you don't age in KH. Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Cinderella aged by a year in those sequels they did, though Yes, but she still looked exactly the same as in the first one so the model wouldn't have changed. She was 19 in the first one, there's is much less of a physical difference between 19 and 20 than there is between 14 and 15 or 15 and 16. Main reason Sora, Riku, Kairi and Namine grew so much during a year was puberty. Edited January 11, 2015 by Isamu_Kuno

And in the 3rd one there was some crap about time travel, so she's probably 19 again anyway, and BBS doesn't mention or deal with Cinderella 2 and 3. But I still say Kairi looks a little older than 15: those..ahem...objects on her chest are slightly big for that age, and Riku is possibly the worlds tallest 15 year old. Only Sora looks 15.
