Are Sally and Nala even Disney Princesses or... actually, I'm starting to think if Disney Princess is actually still a specific title or if its just a name you can slap on any female Disney protagonist nowadays.

Well, the official Disney Princesses are just the classic ones plus a few others: Tiana, Cinderella, Rapunzel, etc. However fans often like to think of other female characters as Disney Princesses, like Nala, Sally, Vanellope, and whatnot even though they're not official Disney Princesses.This explains it pretty well:http://disneyprincess.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Disney_PrincessesBasically to be an official Disney Princess, you have to be chosen for it and have an actual Disneh ceremony.
