...yay?

Indeed. PS4 has well earned it

We don't use VGChartz for actual numbers, but it has reached 20.2 million. Which was obvious.

Which means it will easily overcome PS3's total sales by 2018 and still have roughly 2 years in it's prime left.

I own one and I don't find it has earned it.

It just didn't stumble as much as the competition did.

It capitalised rather than earned. Still though 20m is a decent amount of numbers.

They'll skyrocket in Japan once a good AAA title comes out there.

But I agree with KHSora, my PS4 has been sitting here for the last 3 months untouched, other than maybe a round or two of arena in inFAMOUS First Light. Needs more good AAA games.

The PS4 has only been out a little over a year. Trust me, by the end of 2016 that statement will be totally outdated.

Actually, I think the Wii is still fastest ever to 20 million. It's close though.

No, it's been officially announced several times that PS4 is the fastest.

No, it's been officially announced several times that PS4 is the fastest.

Where are those several announcements and how do you know they're official?

And even then,it sold 20 millions because of hype mostly and not much else.99% of games on the system are either portsremasters of games from a year or two ago or games that are on Ps3 and Xbox One too.

The Ps2 still beats it in my opinion as it actually had great titles not only at launch but continued with many more exclusives

Besides,do sales contribute to your enjoyment of the system?Cuz I enjoyed My Ps3 a lot even though it's initial sales when it was launched and the year after it's launch were miserable

I don't think the corporate heads of any of the console making company care if anyone went crazy about how much they're console sold

At the PS experience they said it was the fastest selling console ever.

You can't expect huge AAA games to be popped out like crazy at the drop of a hat. PS2 games were WAY easier to develop than PS4 games. What took a team of 50 people back then takes around 200 now. Just be patient till the greatness arrives.

No the sales don't make you enjoy the console the console... The point is that if Sony make more money we'll see more exclusive games and a lot of money poured into making PS5.

No, but they sure want it to sale more and that's understandable. I want the gaming brand I love to make money.

I want the gaming brand to amaze me.

Guys let's keep this civil - no condescending or rude comments please.I had to edit several posts in here due to that. We can discuss without getting hostile or rude so let's keep this friendly!

I don't really see the value of being excited or happy about a game console's sales unless you were worried the system would fail

like

what are you cheering about

"yay, people bought this system, that validates me dropping 500 dollars on a system with no games"

If anything people should be concerned when their favourite console takes the lead, history has shown us that every time a company ends up on the top, they completely screw up and have to spend a generation recovering

idk, you could probably consider it a victory for capitalism for a game console with no games to be selling so well.
