What About Kingdom Hearts In Once Upon A Time?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I know there's already a thread about OUAT being in KH, but this is about KH being in OUAT. And I have no idea where to put this thread, so...sorry.

Anyway...what do you guys think about Kingdom Hearts being in Once Upon A Time? I mean, I know they mainly focus on Fairy Tales and Disney movies, but there's only so many of those out there.

And for the sake of argument, if KH is included in that show, would you want Asian/Eurasian actors portraying them, or would you be okay if they white-washed them?

This isn't the first time that I thought about the possibility of Kingdom Hearts being in Once Upon a Time.  I think it'd be a great idea, if done correctly.  I know that they won't do it because it's not a fairytale, but that would be an awesome concept.  Two of my favorite things in one place!

The Disney-ABC TV Show?

....I think I'll pass on that.

The TV Show is an interesting idea (Haven't watched it) but I don't think KH really has a place in it. Maybe a Easter Egg or Reference but a canon role isn't really needed. And I'm not even sure about the idea of it being vice versa.

And besides; How would they even do it?

idk, OUAT isn't really that good of a show, although it's basically Disney fanfiction put on TV with a decent budget. I feel like the two franchises wouldn't mix well, though an easter egg would be neat

1. The show has been practically ripping off KH. Yen Sid, multiple worlds, light and darkness stuff, an important character locked behind some sort of door...2. They wouldn't do it right at all. Seriously, the KH characters in live action would not only be bad, but it would LOOK bad. Not only that, but they might not get the characters right at all!

No, first off I don't think they can really portray the characters that well no matter who from Kingdom Hearts they bring out, second this show is about the fairy tale stories that Disney just made into movies, as far as I know, the only way you can tell it's Disney is because of the Frozen characters in it even though they are based off of the Ice Queen story but they use the Frozen names.  I'm also one of the people who are part of the no live action Kingdom Hearts in anyway, need we go to the Live action parking lot battle video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2e7bX2oVlQ

I rest my case.

I Believe I ALREADY Asked This Question.

Either Way, Maybe Sora, Riku, And Kairi Could Be Living On An Island In A Realm That Is Somehow Connected To The Enchanted Forest.
Otherwise, Namine Could Appear.

In The "Kingdom Hearts" Series, I Could See "Once Upon A Time" Appearing -- Yet, Only Season 1.  Of Course, The Enchanted Forest Could Have Been Part Of The Original World....

Agreed, the show is literally already KH-lite in a TV primetime drama live action style. There are many main characters that blatantly can be paralleled to KH main characters.

The protagonist is basically tasked with saving everyone and she will have a fall into darkness next season (similar to Sora and his bit in DDD)

Of course. -__- Now people who watch OUAT will end up looking at KH and say it ripped OUAT off.

I'm not going to lie I would love KH to be featured in Once Upon a Time. In the show it seems that they pick characters sometimes according to popularity (for example: Elsa and Anna from Frozen) so maybe when KH3 comes out and if it's a huge hit, I'd hope that the makers would consider adding KH.

The reason why I would love it is because for starters it obviously won't be cannon to the games. Plus, I would love do see how they would work it into the storyline. Even if it sucks, I would still watch it simply because it's KH. You have to think of it as a separate thing from KH.

You should check out this imdb post on KH in OUAT:

"I'm finishing up the latest season on Netflix and I already know that Swan is the new dark one. We all know that Emma is special and it's going to take more than True Love's Kiss to destroy the darkness within her. The route they're taking the story reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. If you haven't played it, you really should. It's a great game. The storyline is very complex so some of you may not know what I'm trying to say but I will try to explain it as clearly as possible. If you have the time, read about the story!

You see, Riku's fate could have led him to a dark or light path just like Emma's. I remember in Birth By Sleep, Aqua reminded Sora to look after Riku in case he decided to go down that dark path.

To me, Emma is playing that role of Riku and Henry is her Sora. Emma and Henry are the only ones that are not traditional Disney characters so that already separates them from the rest.

In Kingdom Hearts, the Heartless (darkness) were released and Riku disappeared in it while Sora gained the Kingdom Key. The one with the strongest heart can wield the Kingdom Key. And Riku's heart was weaker than Sora's at the time. Just like Emma's heart is weak as the dark one.

In Chain of Memories, Riku has a choice to follow the path to dark or the path to light. He chooses neither and says he's choosing the middle road: "the road to dawn". He will always have a little darkness in him because it will never leave. Snow and Charming tried to get rid of the potential darkness that Emma had. Even when Emma gets rid of the darkness, she will still have remnants of it within her. She just has to overcome it like Riku did.

I think Kingdom Hearts would be a little stretch for the show but it can add a wonderful and deep story to it too. It will also promote the next game coming out and attract new fans. Trust me, I think OUAT will have a lot more views if the KH storyline is added.

Now that Swan is the dark one, I can see the Kingdom Key appearing in Henry's hand at the end of an episode. It will be awesome for him to quote some lines from the game too. This is my favorite quote:
- "The heart may be weak. And sometimes it may even give in. But I've learned... that deep down there's a light that never goes out!"

Here are others:
- "I know now, without a doubt, Kingdom Hearts... IS LIGHT!"
- "It doesn't matter how much we see each other, but how much we think of each other."

Henry has always been the one to connect everyone together. He is the light. It will be great if Henry was the main hero for this arc. I think he's the only one that can get Emma back other than herself."

Damn, now I REALLY want KH in OUAT LOL
