Playable Characters for KH 3 Prediction

Okay, besides Sora, who will be the next playable characters in Kingdom Hearts 3?

I think Riku, Lea, Kairi~

Let's share the opinion :)

Riku and Aqua.

Definitely Riku given the huge part he's sure to play in KH3, and hopefully Kairi so she can be useful.

And personally, I don't really care either way if Lea is playable or not. I'm kind of imagining they're going to have Kairi and Lea as their own team given that they're both Keyblade newbies and Kairi would be the actual playable one. As long as it's not like we get to play as Lea instead of Kairi though, I'm good if they wanna make him a usable character.

just sora please

just sora please

Seeing as how there are like five different active Keyblade users this time around, it'd feel like we're missing a ton of content if we only focus on the one character when they split up- or they all stick together in one party, in which case things would feel ridiculously overcrowded all the time. Either way, no fun.

you're less missing content, more getting content that's fully fleshed out. Something we don't get in all the games with multiple dedicated characters

But the way the story's been set up, there's going to be multiple characters all doing different things, unless you really think Sora, Riku, Kairi and everyone else are all going to be travelling together and having the same adventure. It's either we get to play as different characters dong different things, or we get cutscenes of those different characters doing those things. It's like if you only got to play as Riku in DDD and all of Sora's story were cutscene, or if you only got to play as Aqua in BBS and Terra and Ventus' stories were all cutscene. It'd be tedious and boring.

I have said it multiple times before and I'll say it again:

This is KH3! This is going to be the end of a saga and it MUST be amazing and awesome with epic proportions.

This is going to be a battle between seven heroes and thirteen villains! If Sora was going to be the only playable character that would mean that either A: the others fight in cutscenes, which can ruin the experience cause you would rather actually fight, or B: Sora beats up everyone, which defeats the purpose of having seven lights.

We need to play as multiple characters. After playing as all these characters: Sora, Riku, Roxas, Mickey, Terra, Aqua and Ventus, I don't think I want to stay stuck in Sora's big shoes. Heck, I don't even think that Sora should defeat Xehanort. He hasn't even seen the guy! At this point, I think it should be either Terra or Riku, at least they've seen and talked to him.

They can easily make the game by switching characters like in Dream Drop Distance, but without the drop meter, as there would be no reason to have a time limit as playing a character. A limit, sure, like you have to play a certain number of worlds for this character before switching to the next, but no time limit. We can, for example, a team with Sora, Riku and Kairi and you can switch between them with L2 and R2.

We can't just have cutscenes with the other characters! We need to play as them to make the experience better. Some people don't want this because they think it could be like BBS, where you have to play an entire story for one character before playing the next. They don't have to! They can just do like I said above about switching!

We NEED multiple playable characters to make Kingdom Hearts 3, the game we've all been waiting for, to be the best Kingdom Hearts game. Every single KH game introduced something new in terms of gameplay. Just look at Kingdom Hearts 2! That game introduced so many things that didn't exist in previous games: Limits, Drive Forms, Reaction Commands and switching party members at will. Kingdom Hearts 3 can expand greatly with many things!

Multiple playable characters is a MUST! Enough said!

Characters were always off doing different things in previous games. We only need to see the essentials. With some restructuring BBS and DDD could have easily had Terra Ventus and Sora as side characters. It wouldn't have worked that well in BBS since it was built from the start with 3 characters in mind, but if it WASN'T, I guarantee you a game where we jsut play as Aqua would have been a lot more enjoyable. I mean, most of the cutscenes are just Disney worlds anyways, they lift right out. In fact, in DDD it could make a small mystery from not seeing Sora's perspective, so we don't know what happened to him.

I can live with missing some of the action with other characters if it means Sora can play properly this time. You call it tedious to watch Terra and Ven's cutscenes? I call it tedious going through the same worlds using the same basic combo on the same enemies

I wouldn't object to have small mini game type things like when you play as Mickey and Riku in KH2 with a limited moveset, but I think it's about time KH returned its focus to a single character

Yeah, if you completely rework any story then you can get it to work the way you think it should. And I'm not saying BBS or DDD did the mulit-character thing particularly well, but that doesn't mean KH3 won't do it right. Besides, they fixed most of the tedious parts of it in DDD- Sora and Riku went through the same worlds differently more often than they went through the same shared areas. If they remove/revamp the Drop system, I'm confident they can do the same thing as well or better in KH3 (with more varied movesets between characters, assuming they add Kairi or Lea or whoever else).

Besides, almost half the games in the series have had multiple playable characters (more than half, if you count 358/2 mission mode, which I think we should), saying it should "return" to single character makes it sound like it's weird for KH to go the other route. It really isn't.

I don't really care that much if there are going to be more playable characters. The idea is nice and all but maybe it's better if they got their own game. I just want to be able to costumize my team's AI for battles.

What I'm afraid of the most though is that our team will be stuck with Donald and Goofy again, and if they're not useful in combat like in KH2 then there is no reason for AI costumization to exist.

ALL THE CHARACTERS. No not really.

Still, I wouldn't mind being able to play as Riku, Roxas or Lea.

it is a weird route though, there's a reason the other KH games aren't as good as the numbered ones, and why Re:Coded is regularly praised for its gameplay

If Kairi ends up being playable, it'll probably combine action RPG with stealth.

I want Aqua or Kairi. I don't know that much about the other characters but these two seem to be ones that could be expanded upon very well if they had more playing abilities

My personal opinion is, for every world sora completes, you get a little side story, with one of the other character combinations.

Kairi should be the tutorial character to start Kingdom Hearts 3. She could start off by having a compressed Mark Of Mastery Exam.

Actually, yeah, that's probably a good idea. It's like in Paper Mario, how we get quick glimpses of what Peach is up to while still having the core game be focused on Mario.
