Yeah, Angry Joe summed it up pretty well.

No, god please no.

No.

No.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

My friend bought it in a local game store for like  £2. He can usually beat bad games but even he couldn't complete Mindjack. Is it really that bad?

I'm guessing that Square Enix made this game?

Nah, they only published it. I've never played a bad Square Enix game.

I had never heard of this game until now... and for good reason. ew

R.I.P. X-Play

Also R.I.P. Sora96s mind.

I got worried for a second that this thread was about a MindJack reboot

what's the point of reviewing games if you only cover good ones

MY MIND HAS BEEN JACK-JACK-JACKEDDDDDDDDDDD

Then you should try Blood of Bahamut, Sigma Harmonics, Lighting Returns, the original FFXIV launch, Front Mission Evolved.  All Square Enix homegrown games, all nigh-unplayable.  And that's just off the top of my head.

Lighting Returns

lol okay

Yeah, that shit was unplayable, and that doesn't even describe it.

Most of the games you listed weren't even developed by Square Enix. And I actually loved Lightning Returns and Front Mission Evolved was great. I'd love to play Blood of Bahamut and Sigma Harmonics but they are only in Japanese.

I actually loved Lightning Returns

I want to pretend you don't actually believe that.  But since i can't, I'll just pretend you didn't even say it.  :)

Ahhh, such an amazing game. And the staff have moved onto even bigger games. The art director is now the world art director on FFXV, the producer is the head of Square Enix's #1 division and is helming the FFVII Remake and the director has his own project in addition to most likely working on the VII Remake.

Lighting Returns isn't without a few merits!  Art direction was impressive, so I look forward to seeing something like that on XV.  The producer is....well, the same guy as every other game.

Now, Motomu Toriyama....  Yeah.  He's a problem.  Every single game - EVERY SINGLE GAME - he was behind was a complete and total dud.  Blood of Bahamut probably being the worst offender.  Lighting Returns WAS an amazing game.  An amazingly shitty one.

Please, X was the best PS2 game ever, X-2 was a very successful sequel, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings was also great. Lightning Saga sold over 11 million copies on PS3 & 360 alone. Read it and weep.

Sure it was.  If FFX was the only PS2 game you ever played.  X-2 is the sort of abomination most everyone wants to delete from their brains.  Revenant Wings, not much different.

And Lighting Returns selling 11 million?  Rofl, wtf?  I think you mean 800,000 in total.  Worldwide, on all platforms.  That's called a complete failure.  Not that even IF it was a success, sales don't even remotely amount to quality.  Read it and weep.

That's why FFX keeps winning awards in 2014 & 2015 and X/X-2 HD sold like crazy on PS3 & Vita. That's why RW was the highest selling new FF on DS and still scored highly as did X-2.

I said Lightning Saga, that's all 3 games. Wrong, it sold 1.4 million copies on PS3 & 360 alone. Toriyama's games sell more than any ever in Square Enix history. Read it and weep.
