What Does "New Worlds" REALLY Mean?!?!

Posted

So, Tetsuya Nomura has told us that, other than Olympus Coliseum, almost all the other worlds in "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be new.

Yet, recall how Nomura said the same thing about all the Disney worlds in "Kingdom Hearts 3D:  Dream, Drop, Distance".  Only Le Cite Des Cloches was completely new.  Tron's world [The Grid] had basically appeared in "Kingdom Hearts 2".  We went to Monstro in "Kingdom Hearts 1", which is technically part of Prankster's Paradise.  The Country of The Musketeers is probably set in Disney Castle's past, or it is an entirely different world based on what King Mickey said.  Lastly, The Symphony of Sorcery is part of Master Yen Sid's tower/The Mysterious Tower.
In other words, when Nomura said "new worlds", he probably meant to say "New AREAS".

So, what does Nomura mean THIS time?  Are we going to get completely new WORLDS?  Or just new AREAS in worlds we've been to before?  Or will we get BOTH NEW WORLDS AND NEW AREAS TO EXPLORE?

He's probably just saying that to through us off.

he specifically said besides Olympus Colisseum, which looks entirely new, so he's talking about brand new worlds

I'm pretty sure he meant mostly brand new worlds since he said he was meeting with disney to decide them. I don't think that world selection should take this long unless they were mostly all new

Country of Musketeers was a totally new world, Mickey said as much. To the two French worlds where new.But we know we've never been to the Tangled world. Before and Frozen is practically a guentee. He also said he wanted more world's than KH2 so I'm guess the majority will be worlds that have not been in the series yet. I'm hoping for some worlds from the less popular eras like The Black Cauldon from the Dark Ages or Treasure Planet (which would negate Port Royal but oh well) from the Post Renaissance. Obviously Revival Era films like Tangled will be in there too. Frozen is practically guerenteed. There will probably be one Live Action world too and since he said "almost all" probably a couple of other returning worlds too.

Didn't he say world selection was already finished? I think he said that when he said gameplay was complete.

Tron Legacy is a new world. It's world is not based on the prequels world and it's visually different from Space Paranoid to call it its own world. Symphony Of Sorcery is based on Fantasia, and to be honest, the only thing that happens in Yen Sid's tower is the battle with some Nightmares and diving into the sheets of music. Country Of The Musketeer is an entirely new world. It has noting to do with Disney castle. For proof, here's the Disneytoon DVD the world is actually from...

Treasure Planet would not negate Port Royal at all. They're both aesthetically different enough to both be featured in Kingdom Hearts 3. That's like saying Enchanted Dominion won't be in Birth By Sleep because Dwarf Woodlands is. They're both forest but they're aesthetically different enough to stand out. And unlike the forest worlds in Birth By Sleep, Treasure Planet is about space Pirates whilst Port Royal is about live action Pirates: both their premises stand out to both be featured.

I really hope Nomura does mean "new areas", because it makes more sense in terms of story to return some other worlds of the past games and I want them to see in beautiful graphics.

I'm pretty sure Nomura meant to say that almost all worlds will be new.  Keyword: ALMOST.  What I'm thinking here is that while the majority of KHIII's worlds will be new, I'm guessing that at least five or six of them are worlds from previous games. (And I'm just talking about the Disney worlds, because I'm pretty sure that the non-Disney worlds, such as Castle Oblivion or Twilight Town, will definitely appear.)  Gahh, I can't wait to see which worlds will be in the game!!!!

Treasure Planet and Port Royal round 2 for the win! :D

There's a chance Destiny Islands, Yen Sid's Tower, Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion, Twilight Town, Castle Oblivion, and the Keyblade Graveyard might return.

Where did he say that he wanted more worlds than Kingdom Hearts 2?

In one of the many interviews he did after E3. Of course how many of the words will actually make it into the final product is unclear.

I do think it's probably gonna be both . We saw new areas at Olympus .

it means NEW WORLDS!!

it means NEW WORLDS!!

Just not necessarily new Disney movies in general, cause i'm holding out for stitch again, but this time with Lilo

it means that there's going to be mostly new worlds in kingdom hearts 3. I don't see any vagueness in that.

New worlds will appear, such as the one from Tangled, also there will be present some old worlds, in which new areas will be explorable. That's it.
