Fire Emblem: Return - RP Thread.

Posted

Long ago, two dragons entered into conflict. Grima, the fell dragon, who desired destruction and ruin of humankind, and Naga, the divine dragon who helped the humans against the evil forces of the fell one. Grima was sealed by the Exalt, using Falchion, the legendary weapon, alongside the Fire emblem. With victory for humans and the divine dragon, the world flourished once again; however 1000 years later, Grima was resurrected, bringing chaos to the once peaceful lands.

Once again, humans took weapons against it, and with the help of allies from different timelines, the world was saved once again, this time, finishing Grima for good, the lands of Ylisse were once again at peace. But nothing protected these from the hate and darkness inside humans, that´s how the once known Halidom of Ylisse fell down, both Falchion and Fire emblem lost in history, and the Voice, suddenly became silent... until now.

The continents of Ylisse and Valm, coexisted in the 500 years after the so called War of the Fell Dragon; since then many nations emerged while others vanished into history, nowadays in Ylisse exist the Kingdom of Dormus, ruled by King Ephidel, a nation flourished with the touch of steam technology, Varius, the green valley, and their council in the city of Tellus and the legendary Regna Ferox, land of warriors ruled by the Khan Lord Ragnar.

In Valm continent the old guardians of Chon´sin guided by Yang Chen, the light theocracy of Nazzir, blessed with Primarch Valder´s guidance, and the Principality of Rossane, ruled by centuries by House Virion and his head, lord Firion. Recently the kingdom of Dormus, once a provider of peace, has become a menace, as suddenly started to attack the nations of Various and Regna Ferox, with unknown motives, the land once again struggles with war. In the near frontier with Regna Ferox, a group of mercenaries, hired by Dormus Royalty prepares for a battle, one that truly has a long story to be told.

PROLOGUE: Dormus Test.

In a near campside a man, around his 40 years, awakes in the dawn, he needs to receive a few people coming from the city of Dormus, as mercenary, his duty is with his clients, in this case, however..

"Sigh.. I shouldn´t agree with this, but if the old man says this is needed..." Braid, the leader fo the mercenary group said, as he walked out of his tent, in the distance, four people came in the roadside, soon they reached the campside. With a grin smile, he reached the four people coming: " So you are lord Reiner and lady Arcelia, huh? Welcome to the Feroxi Frontier".

"So you should be Braid, I suppose there´s no need of introductions then" Reiner said as he went down of his horse walking next to the man. "So I suposse we need to take your test, as you sent in the letter" "Hell right, if you prove your worthy we will follow you to hell, after all your mission is not a field of roses, trying to sneak into Feroxi lands.. call it a suicide." Braid said with a suspicious look over the two royals. "Alright then we will start soon, prepare yourself, as I prepare my group for battle" Finished saying Braid walked inside the camp, reaching a group of people in the center, "Alright you have 2o minutes to prepare to battle, this will be an battle exercise so be ready to be mocked down by me! HAhaha"

----

Alright everyone! lest start with this! Introduce yourself to your members of the team, and prepare to battle, know yourself better and please Riki, we trust in you.. don´t kill us. Battle will start as soon as everyone talk to each other.

Ei looked at her and bowed to her "I'M SO SORRY! I was so focused on the fight that I forgot." He said to Yany. When she looked like she was about to fall he walked up to her but she caught herself, and when she said about heading back to camp and talking about her race a bit more he smiled."I would love that."

Back at camp Yany sat on some food supply boxes relieved to rest. Yany looked at Ei "Well take a seat Ei & I i'll start" said Yany as she gave a moment for Ei to be seated "I guess i'll start by telling you the Taguels are a race that can shapeshift into a werebunny creature. We can also hear a persons heart beat, so I can tell if your nervous or lying. One thing we Taguels need most is our beaststones, The beaststones bring out our true power & without them we can't transform into our beast form. I've spoke plenty of me & my race for now, what about you Ei? what has your path been like? what have you experienced? what has made you you?" said Yany as she begun to eat some carrots she took from one of the food supply boxes. Yany saw just outside the camp that the night was come in fast.

"We shouldn't bring much Derik, or we might bring unwanted attention. A single blade should be enough for this mission. Bring your Killing Edge. It's an excellent weapon, and more than sufficient to take down whatever resistance we meet." Ryonne told Derik. He looked back to the Khan and bowed his head. "We shall do so quickly and efficiently. Do not worry." He said to his ruler. Rija looked Ryonne and Derik up and down. They both seemed like capable warriors, with plenty of experience under their belt. A Myrmidon and a more standard person, mercenary by look. She nodded to herself.

"Khan Ragnar, would it be a problem if I accompanied them? I wish to see the gemstone safe myself." She looked to Ryonne. "And please, do not think of me as a burden. I am strong in my own way, even if I do not have the same warrior's heart as you Feroxi warrior." She said, hoping that he would not think of her as a burden. Ryonne's attention was drawn to her. He nodded slowly. The woman was a Knight, dressed in Nazzir armor. He could only assume that it was her news that made him want to send people to the gemstone. Enemy soldiers alone would send him into such distress.

Armad continues keeping a close eye on people. Eventually he walks up to Reiner when he can find a chance to at least speak quietly with him. "Please tell me you have checked each of theses..... Mercenaries for their backgrounds. I dont want any people who are a threat to the princess slipping through the cracks." He whispers

"I see. I don't suppose about we are to take any Armorslayers or Levin Swords then. Might be a tad easy." His hands folded and moved back behind his head, a mildly bored expression on his face. "I just hope I don't get too bored by the enemy units and swat them like flies in my sleep." he stated, walking out of the room and towards his own room. Plastered about the walls were many, many weapons, from lances to tomes, he had a little of everything. "A man has his trophy's, afterall..." he bluntly stated, grabbing his sheathed Killer Edge from the corner of the room and strapping it on. With that, and a Vulnary on his belt, he slammed his door on the way out and walked towards the entrance of the castle.

Ei looked at Yany and thought 'She looks like she is really enjoying talking about her race.' As Yany was finishing up and asked about himself he wasn't sure what to say, "Well, there isn't much to talk about. I was raised and forced to learn to wield a sword, and after 19 years it became second nature so I opened a dojo to teach kids how to wield a sword... Now that I think about it I guess I am doing the samething my father did to me, I-I have to go." Ei said standing up

Faaron quietly returned to his tent. "What kind of group is this?" He muttered to himself. "They all seem intrigued by eachother... Should i be impressed? Fires burn and blades cut while axes split and spears pierce... Nothing too interesting about that. Its just logic..." He mutters clearly not seeing the big picture or filling the blanks with personality. He sighs as he lays down and stares at the top of his tent. "At least they can smile...."

"By chance, what do you mean?" Brooklyn calmly asked. "I'm just another man, like you all, I just have your lives in my hands, that's all..."

Meanwhile, in the Feroxi capitol...

Derik scratched the back of his head. "I see. What weapons are we approved to bring? I hate being poorly armed." Derik didn't really care why or what the goal was, it was a fight. A fight meant he got to test himself as a warrior, that was all he cared about at the moment.

"Very well, any assistance is well received. You three will go alone, so be careful. Feroxi troops are stationed in the temple so it shouldn´t be a problem for the time being. Now if you excuse me, I have an army problem to confront now at our frontier." Ragnar said as he abadoned the throne room.

Gules temple, an ancient location in Ferox. After the War of Grima, Regna Ferox kept his gemstone in that place thanks to it´s hard location under the north mountains. The group advances under a side route to avoid attention. After two days, they finally reach the temple gates, however, the silence surrounding the place is an ominous call for bad omens.

"Alright Braid, we will enter the temple, and take the Gemstone, meanwhile you will make an distraction to make Feroxi troops avoid coming here." Reiner said as he walted outside Braid´s tent. "Very well prince, and be careful up there, I don´t like the lack of sound coming from that place." Braid said as his face turrned to his troops getting ready. "Be careful with the maggots, they need to live for me to mock them up hehehe" Braid finished as he and his group left. The snow began to fall, as Reiner took a look to the place. It was a mountain path, leading into a gate created in the middle of the mountain, on the other side, the temple stood. "Seems.. easy... right? hehehe" Reiner laughed... nerviously, but then someone came next to him.

"Hehe, just relax a little Armad. We are on a mission but that doesn´t mean you need to be this formal. Besides... you and I know that Arcelia can take care of herself... despite her childish.. naive.. and somewhat making me nuts... but that´s ok, these are good people, trust me" he said with a grin that you can almost laught at him. "Alright we need to keep moving. Said this the group started moving reaching out the pillar gate.

(Ok guys, you can talk once before reaching the temple (And the battle). So, get yourself ready, because this will be our first real battle).

Armad grimaces at the response. "Not exactly what I was hoping to hear... Im still going to keep an eye on then until I'm absolutely positive that your right." he replies before he gets back onto his horse and then making sure the soldiers are ready to move as well.

-Alexander Crad-

Alexander didn't like cold, at all, he was used to the heat of the desert plains of Varius, he wore a scarf, some thick fur clothing as well as having his armor on, and he was still shivering, "At least I won't die of hypothermia, I hope." He whispered to himself in a wasted attempt to cheer up, he walked over to Catrain and Penna, "You know, I knew i'd be cold from what we were told, but I didn't know it would be this cold" he said as he frowned, "how are you holding up?" he asked.

Yany listened closely to every word Ei said giving him her full attention, but then Ei stood up suddenly "Wait!" said Yany grabbing Ei's left hand in a hurry "I'm sorry if I arose any past pain from your heart but..." said Yany having trouble finding her words. Yany then let go off Ei's hand "W-well I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Ei" said Yany quickly leaving the tent "Why did I grab his hand?...Why do i feel so strange around him? I should get some rest to put my mind at ease" said Yany as she found her tent, Yany entered her tent & quickly went to sleep.

The next day Yany had already prepared herself quickly before the group was heading through a snowy mountain terrain. Yany wasn't much effected by the cold weather since Yany was a Taguel her body has fur to keep herself warm through such cold areas like this one. Yany stayed near Ei as the group walked on almost like she was making sure if he should stop moving because of the cold weather she'd be the first to help him. Yany stared at Alexander's shivering body with eyes of annoyances "If you can't take the cold you should turn back man-spawn, also all that clothing will slow you down should we battle the enemy" said Yany feeling like hes not acting like the warrior he should be. "I sure hope the rest of this group has a better mind set then this man-spawn" said Yany to herself as she then noticed Armad, Yany eyed him like he was a total stranger to the group before approaching him "Your name is Armad correct?" said Yany.

Armad, currently on his horse, turns his attention to the taguel. "Aye it is, and yours was Yany, correct?" He rreplied,

Faaron wasnt fareing any better than Alexander, having a bit more of a sheltered life he never really went out in the cold. "This is ridculous..." He muttered to himself as he too shivered in the cold. He eventually pulled out a traveling cloak and put it on over his clothes. Putting the hood up.

Brooklyn merely scoffed at the rest of his team. "Some of the coldest parts of Valm make this a small lake in the middle of the summer months to me." he laughed at the ones who were cold, with a little bit of amusement from the groups chatting, it was making a decent day. He felt a little more at-home in the cold. "I wonder how mom and dad are doing..." He thought.

Armad, currently on his horse, turns his attention to the taguel. "Aye it is, and yours was Yany, correct?" He rreplied,

Yany nod her head "Yes, I didn't say anything earlier but I couldn't help but over hear your conversation with Reiner & how you seem to be concerned for the safety of princess Arcelia. Tell me man-spawn, why such concern?" said Yany confused.

Yany nod her head "Yes, I didn't say anything earlier but I couldn't help but over hear your conversation with Reiner & how you seem to be concerned for the safety of princess Arcelia. Tell me man-spawn, why such concern?" said Yany confused.

Armad seems taken aback. "Its because I see my duty as protecting the princess to be the ultimate form of justice and would gladly give my life up to protect the throne. However that job becomes difficult when spies" he puts a lot of emphasis onto this word as he is now suspicious of the taguel for being one, "thieves, and assassins slip through the cracks. So i suppose in summary i hold concern for those who hold the throne because i fear that without them i am lost." He looks ahead. "And now its your turn, taguel? Why do you ask such a question?"

As the morning came...Arcelia slept. Like, screw mornings.

Getting up like a zombie, she wandered around trying to find food, and finally found a quiet spot under a tree and sat down to eat.

Lenord was doing his best not to succumb to the cold, as he walked with the group. He was holding a fireball in his head to try to keep warm. He looked at everyone in the group with a smile. He was excited, despite feeling the icy cold air. "So, guys, where are we headed?" Asked Lenord, asking everyone a question.

He was excited, despite feeling the icy cold air. "So, guys, where are we headed?" Asked Lenord, asking everyone a question.

"We should be near Gules temple. According to our sources, one of the ancient gemstomes of lore is there. We were sent to secure it, as the reports indicate the Feroxi wants to use it´s sealed power as a weapon, or so we were told." Wolt replied, as he reached Lenord. "I´m seriously hoping to get it fast and retreat.. I dont... like ... achoooooo! ... cold... snif."

-Evelyn Boon-

"Out of all the places...it had to be cold, didn't it?" Evelyn said to herself as she moved forward with the others through the Snowy, Mountainous area. Cold did not slow her nor did it bother her too much, but one cannot deny the unpleasantness of Sub-Zero Temperatures, especially this high up.

"Ohh, if only I had someone to warm me....oh great, now I sound stupid." She said, laughing at herself a little. "I wonder if Fire Tomes could be re-purposed as....no no, that would be a lot more than just Severe Burning..." She noted to herself.

Yany listened closely to every word Ei said giving him her full attention, but then Ei stood up suddenly "Wait!" said Yany grabbing Ei's left hand in a hurry "I'm sorry if I arose any past pain from your heart but..." said Yany having trouble finding her words. Ei looked at Yany when she stopped him, "I-It's fine, I just hate that I turned into someone that I didn't want to." He said to her with a smile, "Night, see you tomorrow." Ei went to his room but never slept he just stayed in resting in his bed, he turned to his weapon and thought. 'Will I be able to help these people out?'

Ei never got a wink of sleep, but because all the disipin his father put him through he never needs to sleep, as he was walking in the snow he walked with his normal clothes like it was summer. He looked around and saw all the people having trouble staying warm, 'Weak... Every last one of them.' He saw Yany and notice she wasn't even a little cold, he watched as she walked over to one of the people on horseback and smiled 'I'm glad she is talking to someone else, and meeting a new person. It also seems like the guy is responding well to her.' He thought as he continued walking with his hand gripping he sword.

-Arcelia-

Arcelia, done with her food, went wandering around. Bored for the moment, she came upon Evelyn.

"My favorite mage. Haven't become a magecicle yet, have you?" She asked, ruffling the girl's hair.

"Sleep well?"

Armad seems taken aback. "Its because I see my duty as protecting the princess to be the ultimate form of justice and would gladly give my life up to protect the throne. "So the royals are your guiding light then? hm...interesting" said Yany before Armad asked his question "Oh, well I...I haven't spend much time around your race before & thought I'd learn more from this group & from what I over heard from your conversation with Reiner & your concern for the princess Arcelia I thought I'd learn why as I'm starting to feel concerned myself for someone in this group also" said Yany turning her head slightly eyeing Ei for a moment before turning her head back to Armad. "However I must say man-spawn, your appearance doesn't show a trustworthy look & from what I gathered from your conversation you seem to be the type of man-spawn that doesn't trust anyone. Being that your race tried to exterminate mine you'll understand why I don't trust you either, that's all I wanted to say" said Yany. Yany then turned her head eyeing Ei once more "Impressive, most impressive Ei" thought Yany seeing how the cold weather wasn't effecting Ei in the slightest. Yany then thought to herself again "Wonder when we'll reach our destination?".

"I was not part of that crusade and I wish to have no connection to those hellion." Armad replies, spitefully. "However, I suppose its only fair that you wouldn't trust me... My ancestors bestowed that fault upon me so I Guess i should try to fix that... for starters I'll just say...Im sorry for all the grief our people have caused you and I do hope we can come to terms one day." He says before he returns his attention to the road ahead

Faaron was fareing any better than Alexander, having a bit more of a sheltered life he never really went out in the cold. "This is ridculous..." He muttered to himself as he too shivered in the cold. He eventually pulled out a traveling cloak and put it on over his clothes. Putting the hood up.

Maggie was getting bored. Walking silently through the snow was no fun, even if they did find a legendary gemstone out of it, so she decided to find someone to annoy.... I mean, converse with. The princess was even more annoying than she was, she had talked to Lenord before, Catrain had a big scary dragon that would probably dislike her and decide to eat her, Armad had stated a few moments ago that he didn't like spies, thieves, or assassins, so she decided getting on his nerves was a bad idea... Finally she decided to go talk to the bard. What was his name again? Oh, right. Faaron. She walked over to the hooded figure and poked him on the arm. "Hello there. You are looking rather chilly today." She was an icicle herself, but had decided not to show it, suppressing her shivers and walking with a slight spring, added to a smile normally did the trick. "How have you liked this adventure so far?"
