I found FFVII realy good and thought about buying VIII on PSN but I heard that FFVIII was realy bad and I heard that the story was realy lazy done so.

A lot of people absoletly love ff8. Due to the standard set by FF7 at the time and the impact it had on the gaming world, it was extremely difficult for Squaresoft to make a better game and surpass ff7. Peoples expectations were high, very high. So FF8 was criticised alot by FF7 fanboys. I've had a little go at FF8 and it seems pretty good and a lot of people seem to love it but others seem to hate it too. It's nothing like FF7 though.

^^ This.

I thought it was amazing. The story is anything but lazy. It was a lot more ambitious than other entries in the series which meant it worked for some people not others. I loved it and consider it one of the best stories in the series only VI being better in terms of story. Overall I preferred IX but you can't go wrong with VIII.

FFVIII is great, you should play it.The game has some problems of course, but they are not as bad as some people exaggerate them to be in my opinion, its still fun to play.

Honestly it depends on what you're into, what you'll put up with, and what you like/dislike about the Final Fantasy series. I haven't played this game yet, but I prefer to give it the benefit of the doubt since a lot of FF fans really like it. That and my experience with people who don't like it tends to give me the impression that most people who do are pretty picky and rant-hungry. But that's just me, I might not even be a good source of advice since I haven't even played it. Just do what you think is a good idea and then form your own opinion based off of that, though I guess I would probably recommend at least trying it first.

FFVIII has enough good moments to make it worth playing, but overall I find it to be one of the weakest entries in the series.

FFVIII is an amazing game. Very good story and really makes you think. Don't miss it.

I'd personally argue that it's not all that great, but you're free to have your own opinion. If you like newer Final Fantasy games, there's a decent chance you'd like VIII.

That junction system is confusing. I would look up a guide or something about junctioning because the game tutorials weren't that helpful

Noted

I love it, but I know now that's mostly due to nostalgia. The story is not amazing, IX's and X's are examples of better stories. The junction system is cool, but easily broken, and actually hinders your ability to cast magic. And Squall is a massive twat at the start.

But Triple Triad is really good, the music's terrific, and if you like it, you'll be enthralled.

I'm two hours into the game. It's kinda eh mah but I keep playing and it looks good

Question where do you have to go again with your teacher? you know the one you meet at the beginning of the game

All mainline games are very good!

FF8 is a very polarizing game, the only way to know how much you'll like it is to play it. The only thing I'd suggest is not letting ti be one of your first RPGs, since it's pretty complicated and dumps everything on you at the start

I also recommend playing the game with a guide, since there are a lot of secrets you'll definitely miss without it
