Final Fantays XV is 65% complete

Posted

Final Fantasy XV is still a ways out if today’s presentations hold any meaning. Despite words from director Hajime Tabata that the game was progressing as planned, Square Enix decided not to announce a release despite plans for one already laid out internally.

Speaking to DualShockers, Tabata said the game is now 65% complete and “all the plans are now solidly in place both for development and marketing. Everything is ‘proceeding very well’ and development is on target.” The game – according to him – is on target for completion.

Additionally, Tabata confirmed the new swamp area shown today – which takes place in the second half of the game – is around 70-80% complete and that there are many parts of the game in the same state.

Didn't we already know this?

Tabata said this to DualShockers, I don't think that was covered in my other thread.

He said they were 60% done in February.  This isn't very promising to me, even considering that some of that time was spent on Duscae.

Only 65%? 2016 release is looking really unlikely now.

So between February and August (six months) they only progressed five percent? Sheesh.

I though it was 55%?

well even with that conversion rate, that's 10% per half year, so the game at this rate is still two years away

assuming nothing goes wrong, and production stays constant

FFXV and Dissidia are fitting ways to celebrate the 30th anniversary.

I have also read from another article (forgot where it came from, but it was not a bogus news site I assure you) that Tabata, like Nomura, knows the release date, but won't tell us.

honestly for a 10 year old game to just be 65% done is just sad

Tabata told us himself.

I though it was like 75%. For the improvements and bugs.

Tabata told us himself.

He did? Then what's the release date then?

Waiting till about Paris Games Week to tell.

Hmm, 65%?  Well, by December, the game could reach 75 or perhaps 80% completion if things go well!  Maybe the game will end up releasing late next year!

Aw man! Do we have to?

I think they restarted most of the game or all of it when moving to PS4/Xbox One. Or something major happened that made it take extra time.
