We all have this video game you love, but it might as well be the only one in existence or it crash-landed into your backyard because of how little people actually know about it. For me it was The Munchables, a cute game where you eat alien invaders that look a lot like food, but so far, I haven't seen another person who knows it.

Final Fantasy 9 seems a bit underrated to me. I've personally never played the game yet but it seems to be one of those underrated games to me. Along with Xenoblade Chronicles. That is another excellent game yet it seems to be really underrated.

Lego Island 2! A few people know the game quite well but not enough people. Easily one of my favorite old video games of all time.

Huh, I never heard of that game before?  What system is it for; it sounds fun!

 

For me, there are two games:  Star Ocean 4 and Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, both for the PS3.  I love these games so much, but I don't know anyone else who likes them.

Zelda II The Adventure of Link,the black sheep of the Zelda series, I really like this game,but,I think most people overlook this game because its a side scroller,but it plays more like a Zelda game then people might except it to. Some of the series staple like visiting towns,the magic meter or Dark Link were introduced in that game and its not much,but most of the sages in Ocarina of Time were named after the towns of Zelda 2. The game also kept a lot of elements from the first game too like exploring a world full of secrets,items in each dungeons,there's lot of dungeons to explore with unique bosses,heart pieces,the Triforce,etc. The difficulty of the game might also turn some people off and its true that this game can be very unforgiving at times,its definitely the hardest Zelda game,but to me its not that much harder then the original,if you try hard enough you should be able to beat it.

Megaman Starforce series. Very underrated for an RPG and misjudged for those who played the Battle Network series simply because you're limited to 3 spaces. (Technically not true.)

Klonoa 2 could be considered underrated I guess. The Klonoa series in general deserves some more recognition as it has some pretty enjoyable and at times, trick platforming. Also the soundtracks for the games are always pleasant to listen to. 

I'll also say Nightmare Ned, which was this old PC game from the 90's based off a Disney show. I didn't see much of the show but the game was the stuff of nightmares for a little kid, at the time. I played it recently and while it turned out to be very short, what stands out to me the most from the game is the soundtrack. The tracks do a great job of conveying the mood of each level of the game. So I guess you could say it's underrated for that. Meh also the levels are usually creative and interesting to meander around in. 

I've played a ton of games like that (The whole indie scene on Steam led to me finding a ton of games that aren't very popular), but my favorite example of an underrated game series would be the Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents series. It's a really weird rhythm game series on the DS, and two of the three games were only ever released in Japan. I've rarely met anyone who knew about it before I told them, but whenever I did get someone to try it, they always loved it right away.

 

Xenoblade is pretty underrated, too. Smash introduced some new players, but I still think that there are a lot of people who know nothing about it.

ah, I have the Second one. I love that game!@topic:To be truly honest, the most underrated game I have that I can think of would probably be... Well, Drawn to Life? Not too many people liked it just because you "had to be creative". Not necessarily true. There were many options you could go with to just get the game done:A) Completely fill in everything you had to draw. This is called the "Lazy Creator" in my opinion.B) Choose a design or theme and make everything like that! (I used my favorite character as my theme, but I did a little bit of other stuff for some parts, such as weirdly outlined buildings you had to fill in)C) Playing Drawn to Life: The next Chapter? Just stick with the templates given! Make it just another Platformer. XDYep, Drawn to Life was a great game once you figured out everything's mechanics and the bosses.

Rogue Galaxy , Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series , Klonoa

Lord of the Rings War In The North. Up there on my list, and it has mixed reviews. I feel that it was really good and deserved more attention than it received. I did find out by replaying it last year, before Shadow of Mordor came out, that some people are still playing/replaying it which made me kinda happy.

Going off into cd territory here, but Darkfall for PC. 

It's a sort of action/explorer/horror game, with a lot of heavy (and non-subtle) Lovecraft references, set in a hotel built over train tracks where 9 people vanished with no trace. It's different due to the fact you have to think while playing: information is given to you, but it's broken up, or confusing at first, so you have to piece it all together to reach game end. 

I literally have met one person who played it. And I've never met anyone who's played Light's Out: Darkfall II. 

I'd say it's almost CRIMINALLY underrated. 

I love playing kuri kuri mix for the ps2. The controls are kind of off putting but it's a wonderful multiplayer game.
