Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PS Vita)

Posted

So I was just thinking of getting one of the two games for PS Vita. Which one would be a better choice? Oh and I have never played either of the games ever before.

Depends.

If you get easily bored of Turn-Based Combat then FFX/X-2 is not for you.

I got that game and I have been postponing it so I can play something else. The battle style is too boring for me. :P

Metal Gear collection for sure. They are amazingly funny and entertaining and challenging. Kojima is an absolute genius.

I say both. Legit masterpieces in gaming. Although i slightly prefer mgs over ff x...

So I just found out that PS Vita version of MGS HD collection doesn't include Peace Walker HD but the PS3 version has it! Why would they do that? :P

Downloading the HD collection on any console only nets you MGS2 and MGS3. Peace Walker HD is separate unless bought in a store and even then I think it comes with a download code.

Yeah I just checked. But still it looks like that PS3 version has the HD version of Peace Walker and PS Vita has a simple port.

I would say get X/X-2 if it is the Vita. I would recommend getting the Legacy Collection of MGS on PS3 since it pretty much includes ever MGS game made.

Well, otherwise, it's a space issue or something. The HD collection on Xbox Marketplace doesn't come with PW either, it's separate.

It depends, but I've only played Metal Gear so far, so that's what I voted on. X3"

Wait, the collection is out for VITA now!? O3O

It's been out for quite some time now.

Am I the only one who voted Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster? Lmao.....

Get Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster! They're soooo amazing! Some of the greatest JRPGs ever made.

Fun fact: Motomu Toriyama and his team made them both in the same division Nomura and his team made KH1 & KH2.

It's been out for quite some time now.

Finally! A use for my Vita! What's the difference between this one and the PS3 version?

There really isn't that much difference between the PS3 and Vita version. The only difference I could point out is that Peace Walker HD is part of the HD collection for PS3 while the Vita version only has MGS2 and MGS3 (you can buy Peace Walker seperately on the PS Vita's PSN store).

Oh, so then you would have to purchase MGS and Peace Walker separately then? Well that's too bad, still, better than nothing. Does Portable Ops have a PSN version available...dare I ask?

Well, the MGS HD collection and Peace Walker seperately on PS Vita, yes. And as far as I know, Portable Ops isn't on PSN.

Portable Ops & Portable Ops + are both on the PS Store.

AH, I see. Welll thanks for the info. I figured that the game wasn't on PSN since the game is pretty rare and hard to find.

Well sounds like everything I need to bring Metal Gear to my PS Vita is on the store. MGS3 still has Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in the menu, right?

Yes.

Yes.

Ok good, I guess all that's left is to save up to get all of that then....or Christmas, either/or.

Hmmm interesting number of votes and suggestions. I wish I could just get both games together but I think I'll get MGS HD and later whenever I have enough money, I'll get FFX/X-2 HD. I'm just also wondering if playing MGS HD collection games on PS Vita is enough to set me up for MGS V?
