Xigbar's|Braig's role in KH III?

Recommended Posts

I often have KH conversations with a friend and we both see Xigbar as a "wildcard" one who no one knows much about and definitely can't trust. While our talks are mostly just theories (probably born from lack of extensive KH knowledge) we came to the theory that Xigbar/Braig will end up betraying Xehanort in some way. He just seems to sketchy too loyally follow Xehanort's orders. My theory is probably already proven wrong but I just wanted to know others thoughts on this.

I also apologize for my shoddy writing x-x;; I'm mentally exhausted, haha.

Xigbar (no longer Braig because he is a Xehanort and part of the Organization) is a Xehanort and he helped in trying to make Sora the 13th darkness so he will continue to play that role as a darkness until his end.

Edit: This post is my 1600 post!

I see! But what I meant was that Xigbar would still be evil and everything but he'll also be a completely different antagonist. Like, he breaks away/betrays Xehanort only to do his own schemes and chaos. I'm sorry if it sounded like I meant he would turn into a "good guy" xD (Also congrats pm 1,600 posts! :D)

Same as he's always been, the the anti-Revolver Ocelot. I do hope we still get to see him flaunting his swagger and confusing the hell out of Sora like old times tho, but I'm sure we'll get more glimpses of his vulnerable side like we've seen in BBS and DDD. But I do still want him to be bad ass at the same time.

And no, he's pretty loyal to Xehanort. He's been compliant with all of his plans so far up to this point, it wouldn't be consistent if he just betrayed him out of nowhere like that. If anything, I see his loyalty to Xehanort as a parallel to the Hyenas' loyalty to Scar. They will follow him because they know that he is more powerful than them and he can provide them with what they want, just like how Xehanort is a million times stronger than Braig and he can give him the power he seeks, the power of a Keyblade wielder. The hyenas only turned on Scar because he sold them out and he was vulnerable. He basically betrayed them. I would only see Xigbar doing the same thing if Xehanort betrayed him in some way. However, I don't see how that can happen. He's already accepted the roll of becoming another Xehanort in order to wield a Keyblade. Kind of impossible to harbor treacherous thoughts when you share the same heart and mind as your boss. Xigbar is in it for himself, no question, but I think he also knows his place in all of this. He knows that the only way to get what he wants is to comply with Xehanort, or else get thrown away with the rest of the trash.

I been thinking WHAT IF Xigbar already had a keyblade of his own even during BBS. WHAT IF Xigbar is a lost master, specifically the traitor, and the original owner of MX's keyblade. WHAT IF Xigbar is a time travelled from the Keyblade War era to the present times where there are barely any keyblade welders left, thus having less lights blocking his way to the X-blade and a very powerful darkness driven man (MX). WHAT IF Xigbar xignorted MX since childhood, since I doubt Xehanort had pointy ears since birth.

But hey that's just a Nomura. A Nomura playing us like a d@#* fiddle!

I too, have always thought of Xigbar as highly suspicious!  I mean sure, he's a villain, so he's supposed to be suspicious, but there's just something about him that makes me feel that he's going to pull off a hell of a stunt near the end of Kingdom Hearts III!  He's in on Xehanort's plans for his own personal gain, and you can see he'll follow old man Nort as long as he has to, but I think that once Xigbar believes Xehanort has served his purpose, I think he'll try killing him, ya know?

I don't think he's capable of betraying Xehanort. I think Xehanort is smart enough to realize that Xigbar is untrustworthy so he probably but some kind of failsafe inside his heart to prevent people like Xigbar and Saïx from betraying him as long as they're norted.

I'm also a little curious about Braig. What was his motive to follow Xehanort in the first place and why was he so loyal to him even before he got norted?

He wants the Keyblade. Edited by Isamu_Kuno

xigbar will be the true final boss of KH3 of course

I wouldn't be too surprised if that would be true. Stealing Xehanort's uh... power (for the lack of a better word). However, I think, that Xigbar's true plan will not be a part of 3 but in the next game. After all, Sora and co only "know" the he's posessed by Xehanort.

Maybe, just maybe, Braig is a modern Parallel of Ephemera. He uses the bonds that he makes with other hearts for his own gains.

Thing is, aside having a Keyblade of his own, we do not exactly know what intrigues Braig to ally Xehanort.

I've actually had a theory that Xigbar would betray Xehanort and (while this might be out there) join in the fight for light.

What makes me say this?

-Xehanort caused his scars in Birth By Sleep and only stick to his side afterwards by being intimidated by him. Like in the cutscene where he tries to shoot Xehanort after the fight with Terra. He's even said that in the secret ending for 2.5 that he finds Xehanort intimidating.

-In Dream Drop Distance when Sora gives his speech about his friends we see all of them around him and Xigbar steps back and grows a face of disbelief.

But that's just my theory. He could just do t out of spite for what Xehanort caused or stand by his side till the bitter end.
