...Man created barbecue sauce.

but ...god created man and idea.

From a religious view: Say that if God (or whatever higher being they believe in) wouldn't have given us the ability to digest meat if we weren't allowed to eat it. Another claim is why didn't God smite the first man to kill an animal for consumption? Anyone who has read the Bible would see that at first God regularly appeared to humans and interacted with them such as making miracles and destroying bad things. So if a man eating an animal was a bad thing why didn't he warn the first man to do so of such a thing?

From a regular view: Make a stand and politely tell them that meat is an important part of your diet and if you were to become a vegetarian your body would suffer a "crash" from being deprived of the nutrients in meat and that it would be very unhealthy to switch so suddenly.

I wanted to be a vegetarian, because my father is one, and I feel bad that both his side and my side of the family is full of meat-eaters and my dad was the only one. Then again my dad is also somewhat of a hippy, but still. Were all Christians around my family. At least I was a vegetarian for about a summer vacation's length, then my mothr finally cracked me with her nagging that I diddn't get protein. -.-' ah, oh well. Anyways, things'll unwind around ye soon enough.

Yeah, from a vegetarian point of view don't let them "make" you be a vegetarian. If you want to be one that's one thing, but obviously you don't. Tell them that by pestering you they are just making you angry, and even more turned away from being a vegetarian. I have come to the conclusion that I enjoy being a vegetarian and not bugging other people about eating meat, because when people bug me about not eating meat it is not fun. Fredfredbug4 made a good point that if you switch suddenly you will get sick. You can't just stop eating meat after your body is used to it. You have too gradually stop eating meat, otherwise you could end up extremely sick. Like near death sick. Also I am not religous, but from that perspective I don't see how it connects to being vegetarian. Just a suggestion, you should tell them you will try to eat as much organic meat as possible. As in grass fed, nicely treated animals. It's much nicer to the animals and it would show your attempting to make an agreement with them. You don't have to actually do that, but you can lie and say you will.

p.s. Stupid meatenarian!!!

Moo?

all i read was houston.

i totally don't live there. derpppp.

I don't get the vegetarian thing. As Fredfredbug4 said, I don't think God minds. On top of that, didn't Jesus eat fish? Which is, like, an animal? I think you'll make it though, lol. Just look at pictures... xD

pfff tell them mankind did not climb to the top of the food chain to become vegetarians.

If you don't like to be a vegetarian then just block out what they say and keep eating the way you want, it's your life and it's what you want to eat, just try to explain to them if they are willing to listen, but hope it all goes well.

yea thxs ill keep that in mind until the heat of the moment since their very strict. im probably gunna sneak in meat anyways. me and my secret stash of beef jerky! :D

Well, if you don't want to become a vegetarian, don't become one. herp-a-derp

It's as easy as that, my friend.

Your parents shouldn't make you do anything. I would agree with Cricket; even though you shouldn't disobey your parents I don't think you should listen to them with this one. It's not a proven fact but I heard that you could actually get sick because with the way some digestive systems work, some people can't tolerate eating non-meat products all the time. I love animals so I tried to stop eating meat once(I feel so bad that we have to eat their bodies!) and I felt sick two days later. I sadly went back to eating meat and then I felt better. Also, meat is one of the best sources for obtaining protein.
