Comments from the head of BD2 and director of FFXV, Hajime Tabata makes Moogle DLC seem likely.

Featured Replies

Good. This way, people who want Moogles can have them, people who don't can ignore the DLC, it won'the delay development and it will fit into the world better (since Moogles won't just be running around)

I was saying on another site that Moogles would have to be hidden from the general public since it would be difficult to add a sentient, non-human race to a "Fantasy based on reality" unless most people never came in contact with them. Adding Moogles would be like adding Ronso or Viera so they'd have to be careful with how they're encountered.

Even the Behemoth is realistic because it's very similar in structure to a smilodon or saber-tooth tiger, which did exist at one point.

i think its going to appear as an item or cameo not a legit moogle

they did say any dlc released post game and that aren't costumes or additional stories will be completely free of charge.

How the hell did you read that and think it would be DLC?

They never said that.

No one should have to pay for Moogles. There should be pompoms and batwings right from the moment you boot up the game.

Good. Moogles are just one of those things that need to be in a FF game.I don't have a source at the moment (I might come back later), but I thought Nomura (when he was in charge) said that there WOULD be Moogles in the game. Didn't he say something to the tune of "The Moogles in Versus (XV) will be similar to the ones found in Type-0", or something like that?

The Tweets in question:

"Hi Tabata here. Congrats Moogle! I’d like to thank everyone that voted. I will think of a fun little way to feature Moogles in #FFXV (1/3)"

"Importantly, at this stage of development I will not be making a trade off with the other work remaining in order to fit them in. (2/3)"

"So it won’t be a very chatty Moogle, but will be done with a suitably light level of development work as a fun little #FFXV extra. (3/3)"

... Not sure how DLC would be "fun", but I guess it's possible.

They never said that.

If I remember correctly, they have mentioned free DLC, but as far as I know nothing's confirmed in that regard.

yes they did, i think it was in an active time report. If i remember correctly it was either pax or tgs, and tabata specifically talked about free dlc and costumes.

If this means legit moogles, why are they DLC to begin with and why do I have to pay for what has been a stable creature in the series since FF4?

1. Moogles aren't in game yet because they weren't sure how they'd fit into the more realisic atmosphere they're going for and if they add them pre-launch it will only delay development 2. It was mentioned that, should there be story DLC (airships and the like) it will always be freehttp://www.siliconera.com/2015/09/18/final-fantasy-xv-director-on-chocobos-moogles-and-more-from-the-tgs-2015-atr/From TGS 2015 "Should they add content [features, mechanics] to the game via DLC, it will always be for free. For example, if they are to add airships through DLC, it will be a free download."8th bullet point.

The article is wrong, it was written before an official translation of the ATR went up.

In the official translation the only DLC confirmed to be free is the Airship.

Only because that was the only DLC confirmed at the time to begin with. Doesn't mean it doesn't apply to other DLC.

Watch the ATR with the official subs.

Most of Nomura's ideas were scrapped.

Technically there's been a good number of mainline titles where they don't really appear. They weren't even going to include Moogles here but thousands and thousands of peoples said they wanted him.

Regarding the realism point, that's thrown out the freakin window the moment you realize that the goblins inside the caves retain their classic design from the older Final Fantasy games heck it's thrown out the damn window the moment you summon Ramuh to aid you in the Behemoth hunt quest

Yeah, they haven't said "A Fantasy Based on Reality" since Nomura left.

I'm okay with this considering it won't halt the development of the main game.

Yeah, which, let's be honest here, won't really work well.Sure modern aesthetics work well but don't tell me that the game is realistic when I see ancient dragon deities flying around, cartoony lookin goblins filling the caves and a fluffy animal saying Kupo is running around cities and towns

Yeah, personally I would have liked them to scrap the reality stuff. It's still there and combined with the open world is making it bland.

Yeah,it doesn't feel as colorful as other entries, heck looking back at the trailers the color choice look damp and moody,on top of the fact that Noctis and his crew are wearing the exact same color of clothing which, maybe it's just me,but in the heat of battle it can get a bit confusing
