I'd say it's all subjective based on your experience with it. I can't say that much though since I never played it. Always been curious though.

 

I mean, for me I would argue that KH2 was the greatest RPG on the PS2, but that will differ from person to person. How you count it might differ too, like does an Action RPG count as the same as an RPG? Does the RPG have to be 3D or 2D? Etc, etc. But considering the popular positive opinion behind the game (FF X just to be clear), I wouldn't be surprised if it did receive an official honor of that nature.

Well I'm glad you think so, I haven't had the pleasure yet. I'm still busy trying to save up to even BUY a PS4 at the moment. As soon as I have one though I'll be sure to pick it up when I'm stuck between releases of my fav franchises.

While I did enjoy X a lot, I wouldn't call it the greatest RPG of the ps2. I enjoyed KH a bit more, but I can understand why others would prefer X. To each their own.

I personally resonated more with Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, so that was the best PS2 RPG for me; but that doesn't take away from the fact that FFX is still one of the best RPG titles I have ever played.

I really loved X and it was among my favorites for the PS2.  However, the KH games still hold my favorite titles for the PS2.

Hm, in my honest opinion, Dragon Quest VIII is the best rpg for the PS2, followed by Kingdom Hearts I and II. Final Fantasy X doesn't even come close to being one of my favorite games.

I still prefer XII over X.
