Seriously why? The random section should be taken seriously. Although you can make a thread about anything, but this is also a place of seriousness. I can't post anything without people thinking it's a joke.

It wasn't really intended for jokes, but because people started using it for jokes, I guess everything in this section is a joke. Maybe we do need a miscellaneous section, just to separate the serious posts from the joke posts.

 

Plus, you do tend to make a lot of posts in this section that are made to be taken as a joke.

I think I see where you're getting at... I mean, if it's something in real life like a life or death crisis, you should probably put that in the Introduce yourself & Forum Lounge. I guess it really depends on what it is the topic will be about. It also depends on how serious your topic should be taken. However, if one were to make a huge rant about something like videogamers, how people treat a certain character, or otherwise, it would most likely end up in the random section, regardless of how serious they were when they made the rant.

 

If you really really want to know where to put your topic to ensure it is taken seriously, ask someone or maybe a moderator. If they approve that it is fine, then they will more than likely help you find the right place to put that topic. But careful, sometimes when you show a topic you want to make to a moderator, and it is hateful to someone (worst case scenario being against moderators), they will tell you to not even post it at all. Really think about that last part carefully. Moderators don't WANT to crush people's fun, it's just their job to ensure the safety and appropriateness of the site for ALL members.

 

Haha, look at me ranting on about this. See what I mean? But that's basically how it works. I hope that cleared some of this up for you.

I still say we need a Misc. section for topics on more serious, non game/media related things. 

Like if you wanted to talk about something worrying you, that doesn't fall under "Introduce yourself", or if you were posting about something important to you.
