I had a small epiphany when re-watching Re: Coded; Does Sora now know of the existence of Ventus, Terra, Aqua and Xion? We already know that in KHII, he met Roxas and Roxas returned to him. And in KH3D, he knows of the existence of Lea now. 

 

So I was wondering, does Sora (And Riku to an extent), know about the existence of Terra, Aqua, Ventus and Xion, as he met them in 3D? If Sora's memories of hurt are truly coming back to him, he must know about at least Ventus, Terra and Aqua. Unless that information has only been disclosed to Riku since he is now Master Riku, much like how only Aqua was able to hold key information told by Eraqus.

 

Just a quick thought I had, what do you guys think?

Not quite sure if I get what you mean, but to an extent both Sora and Riku know of most of those in pain, to an extent. They both know Namine and Axel/Lea because of the events of Chain of Memories and KH2, they know Roxas because of the events of KH2, they both know of Terra and Aqua from their interactions in Birth by Sleep. The only uncertainties would be Ventus and Xion. Ventus has only made his presence known to Sora, though Sora has never physically met him, while Riku has never encountered Ventus in any form before Dream Drop Distance. In a sense, Ven could possibly feel familiar to Sora due to how long he has been in his heart, but Riku would probably just as easily confuse him for Roxas like he did before. As for Xion, Riku is the only one of the two to have ever physically met Xion before Dream Drop Distance and was the only one close to her other than Roxas and Axel. However with the memory wipe that happened after she returned to Roxas and Sora, Riku likely no longer has any recollection of her, though there is always the chance that memories of her remain hidden deep down within his memory somewhere, as we have established that memories can not truly disappear or be destroyed. Sora might be difficult to answer however. Since she is a part of him, it could be like with Ventus and he would at the very least find her familiar if nothing else, but since Ven has been around longer and Xion was collectively wiped from everyone's memory there would be little left to bring forth the truth of her existence to Sora. There's always a chance that he could remember her through Roxas like in Dream Drop Distance, despite the fact that he wouldn't fully remember her either.

 

All of that said, there already is proof that Sora and Riku have already met, are aware of, or came across all those in hurt at some point or another. As to whether they fully know who they are is yet to be clear. I'd like to think that Yen Sid gave them a quick briefing about them before instructing them on their Mark of Mastery Exam, though we haven't been given much info to go on, beyond the fact that they needed new power to both combat the looming threat of Xehanort and "save those in sorrow". In any case if they haven't been briefed yet I'm sure they will prior to or in the beginning of KH3. At the very least we know that the topic of Aqua will come up in the Prologue, so that's at least one sign of communication.

 

As for whether Sora or Riku are more familiar with them after DDD, again, not much is certain. I mean Sora basically met everyone he had to save, but so far he would only be sure about those he is already familiar with. With Xion, Terra, and Aqua (and maybe Ventus if he was aware of his brief change into him), they would only be more mysteries he has to solve before doing anything else. As for Riku, I'm sure he's well aware or Roxas' need to be saved regardless of meeting him in Sora's dream, but as for Ventus and Xion I'm not too sure. Like Sora, they might just be more puzzles to solve before he knows what to do with them.

He actually left to thank the DE ..after that we can only assume.. Also @ topic i'm sure after Re:Coded, DDD, and events Sora will be completely filled in regardless between what he experienced/saw altogether and then Mickey and Yen Sid preparing everyone for the events of KH3.

That scene was added in the final stages of production. It wouldn’t feel right to have worked so hard raising the Dream Eaters without some sort of closure. Also, since Sora has obtained the power to open doors into Sleeping Worlds, I purposely wanted to show a scene where he used that power.

I'm guessing they got filled in after DDD, because if i recall correctly Mickey's letter only said there were still people hurting, but didn'tspecify who. Pretty much after that i imagine Riku got a haircut and they set off to the Mysterious Tower.

Yep, Sora knows about the existence of these people, due to the letter that King Mickey wrote to Sora right at the end of Re:Coded!  When Sora read the letter, he came to an understanding of these people, and as a result, he knows he has to save them, ya know?  But just because Sora knows they exist, it doesn't mean that Mickey described how Terra, Aqua and Ventus look like, so I'm pretty sure that's why Sora's at a loss when he sees Terra and Aqua near the end of Dream Drop Distance, ya know?

 

Edit: I'm pretty sure he doesn't know who Xion is, cuz no one remembers her, sadly.

This actually just made me realize. What if the events of Chi, are not so much in the Realm of Sleep, but the Chirithy are in the Realm of Light? Or vice-versa being the players can traverse between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Sleep?

Yeah, I'm not really sure. There's a scene in DDD where Sora "thanks Namine." I'm not sure what the correlation between data-sora and actual Sora is, but it seems to go hand in hand, with his conversation with Roxas, and Namine in DDD.

 

He obviously doesn't know Xion, since he asked "who are you" , then shed a tear. He does say at some point (either in DDD or recoded or blank points, can't remember) "I am who I am because of those people" Referring to those who have been hurt.

Just to let you know TT is an inbetween world which is why Sora went there to open and access the RoS. He then used his new gained power to open up the RoS there. Inbetween worlds have the ability to exist for what they are needed for at the time like when Sora needed access to the RoS.
