It's been quite dry recently, there's really nothing to talk about.

 

I hate Sora's guard in KH2, it's so firetrucking irritating when he tries to be all cool and block and do some weird little jump twirl thing. The guard in BBS and DDD was simple and didn't take as long. Sora is mr show off with his KH2 block "OH look at me i'm so special! I can twirl and block! *gets killed by shadows cause his guard took too long.

In regards to the speed, even thought it's slower than, say, Limit Form's Guard, I think the actual guarding animation lasts a bit longer than the latter, so that's kinda nice imo

As for the twirl, it's kinda funny to do when you're in first-person mode

But have you seen him open a chest? Motherfiretrucker is just trying to show off

 

okay, I'll be honest here, Sora's guard command kinda sucks in my opinion because it doesn't quite work perfectly with certain boss fights

(Granted V&As eternal i-frames were the broken part but the game has no mercy for Terra)

This is an interesting post. KH2 Guard is probably the best one since 1)

 

At least it gives you invincibility frames if you block an attack, unlike the other games.

 

And 2) it's not as clunky as Guard in KH1. Granted, Limit Form in 2FM fixed that problem.

I personally don't see any problems with his guard. It may be more of the players fault of not being able to time the guard correctly since some may not have the reaction speed to keep up with Sora's guarding animation and in turn, get killed by the enemy. Its just simple timing is all.

man Aqua guard is were its at, but if i have to chose i guess limit form's guard is second.

The way Sora guards in KH2 potentially sets up an environment for a fractured wrist...but video game characters don't get fractured wrists to they? Conclusion: If your job is a being a Video Game Character, you are protected from fractured wrists.

They've got this thing called wrist insurance. All the stuff happens in the menu.

Um, I think if you block and you still get hit, then it's just that your timing was slightly off. .-.

I've never had a problem with Sora's Kingdom Hearts II guard!  I mean sure, he does some fancy footwork to go with the guard, but hey, I never had any problems with it, ya know?  Maybe Nomura was just trying to go for a cool animation to go with the guard, ya know?

Barring unguardable (but still Reflectable) boss attacks, I haven't had many issues (if at all) with KH2(FM) Guard.

Also, don't blame Sora for him being flashy. He just wants to be King of the Keyblade Wielders. Bad One Piece reference, but a reference.

Well it may be slow, but let me ask you this, is it even worth dodging enemy attacks if you can't look like a pimp? I don't think so.

You know. I didn't mind the block too much. The chest opening is what really bothered me. I mean especially the big ones.

I've noticed this topic show up every now and then, and I figured I'd see what the deal was.

 

I'm grateful for Block/Defend. At least it exists, right? Just imagine playing KH2 without being able to Guard...

To debate the guard itself, I personally like it. It's quick and flashy. Sure, I wouldn't/couldn't pull of a guard like that in real life, but it still looked cool to me.

 

My favorite guard is Ventus's Guard. (Ahahaha, could you tell from Ventus being my favorite KH character? )

I'm pretty sure Sora's guard is the way it is because there is already a "quick guard" in the game. It's the attack button, timing an attack to block/deflect is faster but more risky than guarding, that's how you catch those attacks that the guard can't block.
