Can someone just let this franchise die jesus firetrucking christ man. It should have died after the 2nd game when its novelty wore off and now they're making a 5th game AND remakes? If you tell me now that they're not milking ever last penny and dime out of this franchise, I'm sorry but you're really delusional. :P (Not aimed at anyone particularly, just a generalization.)

Bahahahaha FNAF amiibo... RIGHT, SURE. Even the thought is just stupid :P

Good for the FNAF fans I guess.

And honestly, what's everyone's damage? I'm not in to FNAF at all but if people enjoy it let them enjoy it. Sorry if I come off as mean, but I dislike negativity in general. Though I guess you're entitled to it because forums ask for opinions so you know what just ignore me

Let's just chill and enjoy our respective game franchises.

I'ma have to agree at this point. Now they're just milking it at this rate. Not even Slender went this hard. (And I wanted one more sequel lol.) Although I here the movie is still a thing... Which is long overdue l, but I digress.

Wait even the WiiU?

I don't think so because the wii u is dying

good for Scott.

wonder how much it'll cost. yea sure it's technically 4 games but i can't imagine more than $25 for this unless there's a lot of extra content.

edit: hell you know what? the "remake" comment got me thinking. i remember when i first heard about FNAF and i thought that it was a first person styled game where you could move around the building, hiding, locking doors and turning off lights, etc. i thought "hell that would be a terrifying game."

i imagined a scenario where the player might look down a darkened hallway, and see an animatronic at the end of the hall staring right back at them. as soon as the eyes meet, the animatronic just bolts straight for the player and there's only seconds to act fast and close the door. it doesn't scream at you or get you with a jump scare. it just runs like hell in your direction and you can hear the cogs and gears pumping and turning faster and louder as it gets closer.

just imagining that at the time freaked me the hell out. i know a game like that would probably be a daunting task for just the one guy who makes these but damn this series really has some untapped potential in it's premise. give the player free roam of an entire building and let loose the robots who can move freely around and you'd have one terrifying game.

a terrifying game that doesn't have to rely on jumpscares so much

Because this was absolutely necessary. Can't wait to see Scott tell everyone he's not milking the series again, when he clearly has been since Day 1. I actually have a friend who was as bad as the cultist fanbase that follows it and he now hates the series, even going as far as saying they all clearly sucked, something I had said since day one. Lore is okay, as long as MatPat is covering it.

Perhaps the same could be said about DragonBall Z and pokemon

Perhaps the same could be said about DragonBall Z and pokemon

The thing you're forgetting about both of them is they continue to add more and more new things. Pokemon changed its stance to be 3D. Dragon Ball Super added an entirely new cast of fighters from another universe. Pokemon has developed their gameplay to be more competitive over time. Bandai's Dragon Ball games are constantly improving in most aspects.

FNAF is the same as always. You sit in a position. You look at two or so doors. You look at cameras in every one but 4. You get jumpscared by animatronics, which got very old and un-scary after the second game.

this is so biased. just saying! It can be argued that tried to do something different.

Pokemon and DBZ are still technically the same thingPokemon: Same gameplay, different sprites, plot extDBZ: Same main story, go to namek and fight frieza for about 30 episodes

There is bias because I'm obviously a fan of both. But I've also played all of and completely finished FNAF 1-4. I will admit as much that the 20/20/20/20 modes were still very hectic and shit scary no matter what game it was due to the unpredictability and sheer pace of the game. However the overall flow of the games are all the same. The same could be argued for Pokemon however like I said before, its done many things to shake up that flow, like change the dynamic to 3D, add Mega Evolutions, make the game more competitive, actually add more end-game content in the form of the Delta Episode in ORAS. Dragon Ball actually has been changing, Super so far has had; New forms, new characters, new artstyles, new attires for characters, new stories, new dynamics i.e more depth to the god hierarchy, the introduction of the omniverse, etc.

Whereas FNAF has marginally the same gameplay. You sit in a rooted, scripted spot for 6 in-game hours and spot doors and/or cameras to avoid the lurking animatronics. It doesn't start to get good until around Night 4 in most games because of how predictable and easy the patterns of the animatronics are to memorize and see through in the penultimate nights. However Night 4, 5 and 6 are where it gets unpredictable because they usually have the addition of Golden Freddy to firetruck with you and usually the games have a couple more animatronics specific to the games respectfully to add to the unpredictability. But these aren't really enough to justify how rooted and dull the game is. They could at least allow for some sort of movement, be it in your office, around the actual establishment or the like. Or a means to defend yourself, such as a flashlight, like in FNAF 2. See FNAF could have been so much more. But they stuck to the same gameplay and they're milking it now.

That's just like saying that the mario and luigi rpg series are getting milked because it's reusing the same concepts from previous games.

And yet, we still go to eight gyms, fight an Elite Four and our rival, and Goku still wins the day while everyone else who is not a Saiyan is pointless and redundant.

I would argue that while the core mechanic in FNAF has stayed the same (which is a trend that is found in any franchise. Is there a main title Mario game where he doesn't jump?), each game adds certain nuances that makes them different: The first game focused primarily on resource management, the second on multi tasking with ever increasing stakes, the third on actually using the cameras and other tools to play a game of keep away, and the fourth focused heavily on sound cues.

It is also worth that while Pokemon has an actual company behind it, FNAF is made by one guy, and you're only paying $8 for it. So if you're going in expecting Triple A levels of game design, you were really only kidding yourself.

I'm eternally fascinated how much adversity Freddy can create simply by virtue of being successful. If people don't want to play it, they are under no moral obligation to do so, and yet the mere idea of another title being introduced has people frothing at the mouth like no other franchise can.
