Take this with a grain of salt, a big one, but I was thinking about it and

 

The trailer we just got for 2.8 was relatively short, just under 3 minutes, then of course we saw the release month and whatnot. Then there was a one second delay and we got the stuff about KH3 news in winter 2016.

 

Now, keep in mind that this trailer we saw for 2.8 IS THE OFFICIAL E3 2016 TRAILER. It is the trailer that they would show off at E3 2016. There are 2 possibiliities

 

1. Square Enix removed the KH3 segment of the trailer and are saving it for E3 2016, and that announcement is at the end of the KH3 trailer. The JF trailer had 2.8 first, then KH3 attached to the end, so perhaps this is the same situation and Square are saving KH3 for the Sony conference.

 

Think about it, just because it said '"Announcement" doesn't rule out the possibility of recieving some footage does it? An Announcement is completely different from footage.

 

That KH3 logo that appeared with the news update it could be the ending of KH3 footage that they removed from this 2.8. KH3 has been at every E3 since it was announced in some shape or form, 2014 we got the teaser, 2015 we got a trailer, unless this little update at the end of the 2.8 is our KH3 dose for this year's E3.

 

We know that Square aren't having a conference so no one can get interviews with them or anything like that. Perhaps the update is attached to a trailer and it's basically telling us

"You've gotten a trailer, no more news until winter"

 

I think this "Announcement" is not the release date but the announcement of a special KH event in March, the series 15th anniversary where KH3's release date will be unveiled. Anyhow, the content of the "announcement" is irrelevant in this thread.

 

 

2.There is no KH3 trailer at all because they want us to get hyped for 2.8 which is extremely plausible. But they need to keep the ball rolling, a small KH3 trailer and then no news until December won't make us forget about 2.8 at all.

This is why they put that at the end lol. But still people will expect something there...

They probably will give us some news (I'd be surprised if they didn't) at E3. Nothing huge, maybe a new world or something. I'm guessing the December announcement will be something along the lines of a realease window.

That still doesn't change anything dude, I already know that KH3 has appeared, but the point is that it has appeared saying that we will have news of it in Winter, not now.

What I'm trying to say is that having a message saying that we'll have KH3 news in winter doesn't really mean KH3 has appeared at E3.

I'm usually the one who has low expectations and tells people to keep their hopes down. I stand by my word, I think KH3 will be at E3 but I'm aware that i'm being hopeful and reaching a lot.

you might be right. It might not be considered an appearance at the actual e3 but I still consider it news because they're informing us on when to expect more kh3 news to arrive. I jump to conclusions to quickly, my bad. >,<

My personal opinion is that based on that screen at the end of the trailer we will not get any KH3 news (sadly) at E3. Fast forward to D23 Japan and TGS and we get LOTS of news for KH3: multiple world announcements, character reveals for the different worlds, gameplay videos, and perhaps a release window (even it is as big as "sometime in 2017").

If you think about it SE never really said that they aren't going to show more kh3 stuff at e3. The only said that they I will announce more kh3 stuff in winter. I know my idea is flawed, but at the end, we all will have to wait and see who's right or not, I mean e3 is right around the corner right?

I have faith we'll get something but I'm not going to challenge you because I'm probably wrong There's gotta be a few wishful people.

At this point I honestly don't think we'll see KH3 at E3. If it does, it'll only be at the Sony Conference. I do agree with a lot of your points though.A trailer isn't an announcement. I would consider the Big Hero 6 reveal an announcement, but not a trailer. They could just drop it at the conference and that's it.While I don't believe it will be at E3, I also can't believe Square would go a whole year without KH3 info (the last time being Jump Festa). Having a trailer next week would help keep the hype alive.

There is no D23 this year in either California or Japan. The D23 conventions happen every other year, so D23 won't be until 2017.The trailer clearly states winter, and TGS is in September, which is not winter. So that's a no go as well.

You won't see any footage or see any official announcements about it.  The most we will see/hear is what Nomura drops in interviews.

I don't understand how the FF7 port was a troll. Yes, it seemed like a troll to a majority but it was a legitimate product that is still being sold and is a source of profit for Square Enix. I wouldn't call that a troll at all, even if Hashimoto knew a remake was in the works. What did you expect him to say? "Oh, by the way, a remake is in the works just so you guys don't get pissed like I know you do." PS Experience was a relatively new event at the time, so the announcement wouldn't have gained as much attention as it would have at E3, where, as you know, it was one of the most viewed reveals of the conference.

 

The Kingdom Hearts coverage at E3 didn't seem like a troll to me, either. I mean, think about it, would you really show KH3 before the mobile game that you want to be successful? I would think you'd want to peak people's interests first before dropping the major bomb that is KH3 on them. Maybe Hashimoto enjoyed it, but that doesn't represent Square Enix as a whole.
