So in the older 2.8 trailer Mickey said that he saw Aqua in the Realm of Darkness before. Now watching the new trailer the question came in my head again. Why would Mickey leave her? This has probably been asked before in a thread but I was wondering what are your thoughts on the situation?

It is a very interesting situation indeed!  Maybe circumstance forced them apart when they reunited in the Realm Of Darkness!  Or maybe something happened in which Mickey had to take leave...I dunno, but that mouse has been full of secrets during the series, so I'm sure something happened between him and Aqua! What, however, is definitely the question!

Aqua may have had her own reasons to stay. She may have wished to remain there until Ventus/Terra could return. Other speculation says that she may or may not have mistaken Mickey as some sort of false memory due to the distortion caused in the RoD.

Yea you are so right this damn mouse has had so many secrets. I love Mickey and everything but if he left her there for some dumb reason he's cut. LMAO

chances are, what most likely will happen is Mickey and Aqua will be parted by some inescapable force and Aqua will be left behind.

 

or alternatively she chooses to stay behind for some personal reason and Mickey decides to respect her choice.

 

that second one doesn't make sense though because she wants to get out and save Ven.

Im sure it has something to do with Mickey having to help Riku in Castle Oblivion, and since Aqua met Riku and understands his significance, I'm sure she understands why Mickey would have to leave to assist him.  Still, I'm not sure why he still wouldn't bring her with him.  Especially since hes leaving to go to the castle that she technically created, but I'm sure Nomura has a plan for this

Good point, but I wouldn't question Mickey Mouse.There's some information we don't know that will fill this gap. Hopefully 2.8 will give us answers.

Then again Castle Oblivion is an Inbetween World so maybe he just used that to get into the Realm of Darkness.

That's a really good theory!

For me, mickey is acting as the Nomura in the game. If he saved her, there won't be aqua's part of story in 2.8, and it hinders nomura from making the story more complicating

 

EDIT: don't forget about the ending of bbs though.. if mickey wasn't there, the battle would end really quick.. also in Kingdom Hearts 2 if Mickey didn't hide the truth about Riku, Sora would find riku, FASTER. So basically, Mickey is the one who is causing the game to be really.. complicated

I'm still trying to figure out how Mickey got into the Realm of Darkness in the first place.

I assumed that it's around the same time at the end of KH1 where Mickey and Riku close the doors and trap themselves inside.  Especially considering he's wearing his CoM outfit in both the new 2.8 banner and the "Birth by Sleep Vollume 2" teaser at the end of BBSFM.
