Hey, everyone. I was wondering; should second visits be a thing in KH3? If so, should they be set before or after the battle against Xehanort? If not, why do you think so? Please leave your thoughts and opinions in the reply section below.

I wouldn't mind it, I enjoyed it in KH2.

I liked it in KH2. I just don't want one half to be weak or filler, while the other half is interesting and important. That felt like a lot of KH2. I did enjoy how it kinda made it feel like an anime in a way (you can even see where the midseason finale would be). I'd say some worlds should warrant a second visit, but we don't necessarily need to go back to all of them.

It would depend on the world size. It the worlds are huge then maybe no second visit as we'll have enough for one visit.

 

I would be more happy if each world had it's own interesting side content.

Well clearly if they return they should be BEFORE the final battle with Xehanort, because then what point is there in continuing story in KH3 after the final battle, aside from a secret boss or two?

 

Also, this might just be me, but I think it should be taken a step forward and have third visits with each world. Why?...well, no other reason other than it's Kingdom Hearts THREE, so it would be fitting. I mean, KH1 mostly had single visits for most of the worlds, then KH2 had 2nd visits for most of the worlds (sticking with the number theme oddly enough), so in KH3 it would make sense if you had 3rd visits to most worlds. I mean, you'd have to stretch the plots out for each world for that to work, so it might not be a necessary or viable idea, but it could still be interesting. I mean they kind of did it with BBS already with 3 characters having single visits to each world where you see pieces of the story advance each time or simultaneously, so theoretically it could still work in KH3 even if you only play as Sora (though I'm still hoping for multiple playable characters in some form...).

 

So yeah, I'd be up for multiple visits to worlds. Though I'd prefer three visits, at least two should be fine.

Exactly! KH2 had WAY TOO MUCH Filler in its Disney Worlds. Whether it be the 1st or 2nd visit (or both). 

 

So only 2nd visits IF:

• The 1st visit was Fillery
• The 2nd visit makes a contribution to the overall plot.

It's one of the big reasons why I didn't enjoy KH2.

If they make more characters playable, then 2nd visits won't be "filler". Each visit can somehow be important.

2? Nah, 1 is fine. The worlds are going to be big so 1 visit is sufficient enough. KH2 2nd visits were just fillery.

well seeing how right now i'm finding it hard to imagine how just one visit to a Disney world would tie into the story well, i can't really begin to see how multiple visits would work. 

 

i wouldn't mind a second visit though, so long as it isn't some lame B story. i feel like it would work well if the first visit was more focused on just experiencing the story that comes with the Disney world and then after some big plot revelation about Xehanort's plans, Sora and co. would have to go back to each world and this time the story would be more focused on the new Organization and something they're doing in each world.

 

KH2 actually sort of did this but it wasn't very well done, imo. the Organization's reasons for being in the Disney worlds were a bit too flimsy for my liking. 

 

ah wait i just remembered we can't actually kill any of the new Organization members because there has to be a fight of 7 on 13.

 

damn. Nomura what's your plan, man? maybe one visit would be good enough, actually. 

If there's a point to do so then yes. I just generally like traveling back and forth a bit rather than straightforward like in BbS. Some worlds can have a second visit, a singular visit or even a third visit for all I care. As long as there is a point to it and that it is engaging. Unlike Unchained X where you revisits the same worlds a million times and the plots are equally engaging as watching grass grow.
