Takeharu Ishimoto confirmed to compose for Kingdom Hearts 3D

Takeharu Ishimoto, a composer who works for Square Enix, has confirmed that he will be composing songs for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts title for the Nintendo 3DS, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. This was nnounced via an interview on Famitsu.com. Ishimoto's past composing work includes Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and the The World Ends with You-- which, of course, will see some of its music appear in Kingdom Hearts 3D.

This doesn't mean he will be the only composer though! It is most likely that Yoko Shimomura will return to compose for Kingdom Hearts 3D as well, and possibly Tsuyoshi Sekito, who also worked on Birth by Sleep. Thanks to Kingdom Hearts Insider for the tip.

He assisted Yoko Shimomura in composing BBS's soundtrack, which is a great thing since I love the BBS soundtrack.

Great news! I loved the music in TWEWY and Crisis Core, this guy is awesome!

I don't the BBS soundtrack much. It annoyed me a lot. I like Yoko's old work from the other Kingdom Hearts games. I love the music for Days and II. The music of those games had so much feeling in them I almost felt like crying and jumping up in happiness at some points.

Shimomura will return. It's just that she'll have some assistance from a composer who helped her with BBS's soundtrack.

I liked more of the battle songs from BBS, I think, but more of the ones that Shimomura did on her own for the other games had that heartrending aspect to them that you just couldn't not feel close to you.

He composed:

"Shaded Thruths"

"A Date with Fate"

"Unbreakable Chains"

"Enter the Void"

"Enter the Darkness"

So pretty much the majority of music for Vanitas' scenes and an extra one I think was in Olympus. I especially like that he has done the music for a villain. I wonder if this is the kind of music he'll be making for DDD too.
