Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX- announced for PS3, releasing 2013

They probably won't change the gameplay. However, it is very likely for the cutscene skipping part.

Dang, that trailer impression was awesome. I can't wait to see the thing for myself. The low-quality gameplay footage was nice also, I guess... I love how it breaks out of the usual border that's in the trailer for all the other games. It also seems that Sora's face has changed to the one he has in KH3D... Was that done to make it match with the newer titles, so is the Osaka team working on this?

After showing Sora and Namine on Destiny Islands, Lexaeus, Larxene, Vexen, Marluxia appear in succession.

I have a question; do you think they'll update the combat mechanics of KH to be more similar to KHII? I really love reaction commands, and there better be a skip cutscene button, if I have to see Riku stab Maleficent ONE MORE TIME IN MY LIFE I will have to slap a hoe.

 

final Mix has the ability to skip cutscenes. so unless they decided to remove that, you should be fine

 

Why would they make an HD Remix just to sell just a few more copies? It isn't a remake, it's a remastering. There's is a strong possibility for this to reach other countries, at least NA and PAL region.

So you're pissy because people are going to buy a collection for a game series that they love for their own reasons, simply because you BELIEVE that Square is milking the franchise?

 

Like I said, it's not so much about milking, but the ignorance of the fanbase. All of my animosity would go away if Square were to release 2.5 in 2013 as well, instead of waiting a year.

Hey, I'm going to buy both either way. Why? So I can relive my childhood and get extra content as a bonus. I never got the Final Mixes.

 

Now, while you say Noruma doesn't want Final Mixes to come to the West, that's old news. This is a HD collection, new console, old games, one bundle. He'd be ripping us off if this remains Japan exclusive and he probably knows it. Chances are, this will be released over here as well.

 

Besides, we don't know if there will be a 2.5 but if there is it's still more games graphically updated for our enjoyment. As a fan, I would buy it. So would others and they would happily buy it as fans too.

We're happy, Square Enix's wallet is happy, and they can make more excellent games.

Everybody wins, so don't chose to lose out by complaining about something so trivial. Just be happy. I've heard that's the key to happiness.

you keep saying it would be over-pirated but never why. theres no reason kingdom hearts would be more pirated than any other game on PC. if the worst company ever that everyone hates like EA can maintain profit on PC than so can kingdom hearts.

 

as for JRPGS, the only thing that really strikes me as japanese about kingdom hearts is the art style, thats just it. all the gameplay resembles any other action RPG, and did you seriously just say american RPGs arnt cutscene heavy? clearly you have never played mass effect.

 

Games that sell well on PC generally have an online component. This requires a legal copy of the game. Thus motivating people to buy legal copies. KH doesn't have this.

Piracy is massive. I live with other guys and the only pc game they have legally bought has been Diablo 3. One of us download, say, Skyrim and give it to everyone else. It's cheaper, easier etc. Piracy is rampart. Accept it. KH coming to PC is a terrible idea. Keep the series console exclusive. Square is only releasing the browser game because it's a FTP; so they will make their money through micro-transactions.

By now, you all probably know how I feel about this world....in fact, MANY of you have even given me your opinion on it....

 

HOWEVER....due to the announcement of KH1.5 Remix, I now have to wonder....

 

In the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix portion of the game....could we really see Deep Jungle 2013???

 

Think about it! The world has been erased from KH history since KH1, the only game its ever offcially been in....and now that KH1FM is coming to an HD port on the PS3 (along with Re:COM and Days (is it the full game or just HD cutscenes? I fogot. lol.)).....how is it gonna play out?

 

The rights to Tarzan were stripped away from this series right after KH1 died down and we moved on to COM....so if KH1 is being released again...what's Squeenix gonna do? PULL IT OUT OF THE GAME?! THAT'D BE MADNESS! D:

 

DJ haters....go ahead and rant, but, you gotta admit to yourselves.....that'd be like taking 1/8 of the story out. I'm just Super Saiyan.

 

And, yes, I know, the plot of the worlds don't matter that much....considering it's all about what happens in the orginal worlds that matter....BUT STILL......

 

Come on, people, think back to what ever age you were, when you picked up that PS2 controller and shoved the KH1 disc in for the first time...you remember how cute it was to see all your favorite Disney pals? Donald and Goofy? Mickey and Minnie?

 

And when you got to the Tarzan world....you can't tell me it wasn't SWEET when you found out that the apeman could be in your party? (first ever world exclusive party member, mind you. Real talk.)

 

Now, again, this is debatable.....Some of love DJ as much as I do....some of you don't.....and that's fine. However, this isn't about whether you like the world or not...this is about if its gonna be in the muthaflippin' game.

IMO: It's not likely that a lawsuit on game content can be thrown out the window so easily (i.e. DBZBT2 BGM in DragonBall Raging Blast 2....DB fanbase, you know what I'm talking about), so really, it's possible that we'll just brush on by the world....like, they'll mess with the coding and all that so it won't appear in game....if that is possible....IDK, they're Square Enix, for Christ sakes!

 

Okay, I;m getting frantic right now, so I'll leave the rest for you. Pro-Deep Jungle or Anti-Deep Jungle? Should in be in KH1.5 Remix? Would it matter? How would it be done?

I see no reason for SE not to use the Deep Jungle. Nor am I so sure why people would hate it also. I certainly loved it even though I would get confused where to go half of the time. The only reason I picked up KHI was because it had Disney characters on it; that's how this whole obsession of mine started. I'd always love to see more Disney worlds like DJ in the series, especially since we haven't seen DJ since KHI.

I hated Deep Jungle so I couldnt care less. However, since we don't know the legalities in the original contract we don't even know if this will even be an issue .

Your forgetting that Kingdom Hearts lost the right for the world and the characters within it.

They wouldn't use it because they lost the rights to use it...that's exactly what this topic is about...

 

After KH1, The Edgar Rice Burroughs Estate (ERB's the dude who wrote the Tazan novels) told Squeenix and Disney, "You know what? You can't use the image/elements of Tarzan anymore."

 

That's why only scans of a Deep Jungle world exist in COM...because at that point, the rights were already lost.

Just have to say real quick, I was 15 when i started KH (I started dealing with video games later in life) so I can't claim much excitement over teaming up with Tarzan, or Donald Duck, or any other Disney character.

That being said, you might understand why I'm neutral on Deep Jungle, it was a world, it took me a while to navigate it well, but I liked sliding on trees. My biggest complaint is its conspicuous absence from CoM and Coded. I would hope it's in 1.5, just because that would be so clearly missing, even worse than in the other games. It didn't do anything grand or the story, aside from remind us Sora's still really looking for Riku and Kairi, but he shouldn't drive.

The only real important part of this world was that they found a gummi piece which was speculated to belong to mickey and was to warp the gummi ship from one place to another. Other than that this world wasnt that important story wise unless you count the moral of the value of friendship.

My money's on.... maybe. I'm sure they could reacquire the license without too much trouble. I doubt whoever manages ERB's estate would take unintentional infringement personally.
