Besides there has always been gods and other assorted things in the FF universe that are named the same like chocobos and numerous enemies and summons. It doesn't really matter. Plus we dont know what theyve changed about the mythos if anything.

Snow is just doing what he thinks is right and is likely being manipulate if anything. Lumina is the one we have to watch out for. Who knows what that one is thinking. I can't imagine Caius wouldn't show up at some point. Although I don't think the timeline will ever be restored. Lightning's goal is to shepherd the remaining humans to a new world created for them by Bhenivelse, not save the old one.

Yall need to calm down. It's Obviously fake. Think. Why would they go through all the trouble with the HD collections and consolidating the series on one platform just to move it to another?

It's purely a business strategy. They release it when they believe it would have the highest rate of purchases is a likely cause, or perhaps to close the time gap between this installment and the next one to make the wait not seem so long. Those are my guesses.

Final Fantasy VIII is fine as it is. While I would agree with some quality of life improvements,everything in the game from a story perspective is far more developed than it seems on first playthrough. The Rinoa=Ultimecia theory has been proven false by the developers and I personally hate that idea. It ruins the good ending. Theories are interesting however. If you haven't heard of the "Squall is Dead" theory. you should look it up. I don't personally like it either but it sure makes sense.

I doubt it since she hasn't been emphasized in any other game as being a major plot point. Besides her personality definitely doesn't show any signs of affection what-so-ever. But it would definitely make things interesting.
