Depends on the ability. Like when you are fighting VLS with aqua, You CANNOT dodge his attacks with Firewheel but you can if you use regular Cartwheel.

Vens heart in Sora did NOT give him a keyblade. There was no Inheritance Ceremony so he didn't get a keyblade. Ven's heart just ALLOWED him to use Riku's keyblade. And Terra, Ventus, Aqua, and MX's keyblades are all forged from there heart not passed down. Similar to Riku's current Keyblade. Sora's took the form of the KK instead if Earthshatterer because it was HIS heart.
