  1. Option 2 is tempting, but option 1 is probably the better part of valor.
  2. Terra managed to pick up the boy. It wasn't quite as easy as he had thought it would be, but he was confident he could keep up reasonable speed while keeping the kid comfortable. If he had to run, the boy was gonna have to be thrown over a shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Before Aqua put her robe on the boy, Terra got a better up close look at him and his wounds. It made his blood boil thinking about how these wounds were obtained. How could this kind of evil still exist? Following Aqua carefully, the young Jedi focused his senses on the here and now to get them out of this. The voices he had heard earlier had faded, so they were likely safe on that front. His mind wondered on to the workers the thief had called upon before. Would they find more people under his employ? "Aqua, do you still have your comlink?" Terra asked in a low voice, hoping to not have his voice carry to any unwanted ears. "Maybe we could get Donald to move the ship closer."
  3. Niner didn't look up from his diagnostics on the Elemental Cannon for a few seconds after Admiral Chandler had spoken. He finally tweaked a setting, then looked up. "Oh, Admiral." He said in a surprised tone, though it was hard to say if it was genuine or mock. "Didn't see you there. Yeah, let me see what you've got." Taking the data pad from Admiral Chandler, Niner pulled out a stylus from a pocket. Not all touch screens worked with his metal fingers, so he had taken to using a stylus on everything to save time and embarrassment. He had been expecting some sort of theorem or request for some new technology he'd have to invent. What he got was a simple, little desperate plan. He had to admit, he liked the simple part. When it came to plans, Niner was all about simple. Less chances for Mr. Murphy to be proven right. It took only a few seconds of what others would assume was frantic scrolling form him to consume the briefing. "Nice and to the point!" The robot declared, handing the datapad back to he Admiral. "I won't even mention the percentile chance it will succeed." He glanced back at his cannon. "I should have this hunk of junk ready to go when the rest of the team is ready." He said, turning back to the Admiral and jerking his thumb at the older elemental cannon.
  4. {Fiona & Nyx: Lux City; Backalleys} Fiona started awake in the back alley of a strange place. How long had she been out this time? What had Nyx done? There was no obvious destruction nearby, but that didn't mean much. <Finally, you're awake.> Nyx's voice spoke into the young mage's mind. <I've been waiting for what feels like ages!> "Where are we?" Fiona asked as she struggled up to her feet. <I think this place is called Lux City.> The Witch responded. <You'll love it, Fi. Lots of new people. You might be able to find some new spells to try and get rid of me with, heh.> Fiona gritted her teeth at the taunt from her "mind mate". No matter what she tried, she couldn't exorcise the Witch. Hades, some of the dark magic she had tried only seemed to make Nyx stronger. "And how many of those people did you kill getting us here?" Fiona demanded, looking around for her stuff. She found her pack and staff strangely right next to where she had woken up like they had been placed there rather than turned up by way of her recall enchantments on them. <Ugh, none.> Nyx answered, sounding disappointed. <I had to get us here quickly, so there wasn't many opportunities for enjoying myself.> This surprised the young mage. Nyx tended to be impulsive, just looking for her brand of "fun". That she was so focused on getting here without spreading a little misery was...concerning. "This...about your old friend?" Fiona asked carefully. <Well, you weren't doing anything about it.> The Witch said, a little venom in her voice. <If you had just done what I said, I wouldn't have had to take control.> "Right." Fiona thought. "You're so considerate like that." She picked up her staff and slung her pack on her back. It would seem Nyx had carefully brought these with her too. Was the Witch trying to be nice? "So, where to?" Fiona asked, curious despite herself what Nyx was planning. <Just start walking.> came the order. <I'll know it when you find it.> {Malcolm: Lux City; Market} Malcolm smiled to himself as he replayed the interview with the guards in his head. While he expected that some of the testimony was suspect and he would be looking into their employer closely when he was back on duty. But they did describe Raven and gave a direction he ran in. The fact that he was accompanied by what sounded like a younger teen worried Malcolm. He would need to proceed carefully to make sure the teen didn't get hurt if Raven turned violent. As the detective entered the market place, he felt an old necklace around his neck pulse slightly. It had been a family heirloom, one that no one could decide whether it was magical or not. It had apparently felt something, but what? Continuing on, it didn't take long for Malcolm to come across a small group of young adults and teens. Three boys, two girls. While he absorbed details about the other four, Malcolm's attention focused on Raven, recognizing his lead. So, one of the teens was likely the one seen with Raven at the docks. And now there were more. "Take it slow and easy." Malcolm thought, taking a few deep breaths. He approached Sky, Land, Sea, Raven, and Nallan with a friendly smile. "You alright?" He asked, looks at Sky. "Any problems?"
  5. {Destiny Island: Outside the Palace} "Describe this noble." The guard ordered Aurion. "Was he behaving erratically?" The helmet head moved slightly to looked at Aether. "And what about you? You see this guy?" Before either of the duo could answer, there was a commotion of a couple more guards running up to join them. "What are you doing?" One of the new guards demanded. "Get them back to the palace for questioning!" "Sorry, sir! Just trying to get a lead on the assassin before he or she disappeared!" The first guard said snapping to attention, but keeping careful grip to her arrow rifle. "Who are you, soldier?" The senior NCO asked, suspicion in his voice. "What's your operating number?" The first guard sighed. "It's 113-butt-out." She answered matter of factly an instant before she dashed forward and clubbed the senior NCO with her arrow rifle. He went down without a fuss, but his partner had good reflexes. He had his arrow rifle up and firing, but the "guard" grabbed the muzzle and forced the weapon up as it spit bolts into the sky. She lashed out with a punch, which the other guard managed to block.
  6. Terra waited for the boy to answer, feeling helpless. For all the teaching Master Eraqus gave him, he still didn't know what to do here. If the boy was to scared to talk, then either he or Aqua would need to scout ahead for a way out. But that would mean splitting up, which might not- Something danced at the edge of Terra's perception. Was it the Force presence he had felt before. He caught Aqua's bewildered look, guessing she felt it too. The revelation that this boy was a force user caused the young Jedi to look at him with a look of surprise. "The Force must have led us here." Terra breathed. "To find him." A sound of a distant voice echoed down on of the corridors out of the chamber, reminding Terra of the here and now. "Okay, if you know the way out, lead the way. Let me carry him, I'll be able to move faster."
  7. With the slaver complying so nicely, Terra waited until he was in position before using the Force to push his head into the wall with enough force that should knock even a big alien out cold. With the slaver slumping Terra turned off his Lightsaber, but kept his finger near the ignition switch just in case the big guy was hardier than he looked. He gave Aqua what he hoped was a reassuring look, but his own worry bled through. "Hey." He said to the boy, his voice gentle. "I'm Terra and this is Aqua. We're gonna get you out of here, but we'll need your help." Terra used his off hand to help support the boy with Aqua while keeping his saber arm ready. He pushed gently to get the little group moving towards an exit, giving Aqua a look to make sure they were on the same page. "What's your name?" He asked the boy, still trying to be gentle and soothing.
  8. (Ah, my bad. With Calamity Ganon referenced, I assumed there was once an intelligence behind Xehanort. Hmm, that throws a bit of a monkey wrench in what I had in mind for Fiona and Nyx's story. I'll PM you and maybe we could come up with a substitute.) (No problem. Heh, as a slow poster myself, I can't really fault someone else for it.) {Malcolm Callik: Lux City; in transit} Malcolm walked the Lux City streets as he considered where to search for his lead next. The first place to check was the Landing Pads, where Raven had been spotted before. This search would have been easier if Malcolm was working a regular case, but he wasn't. He knew better than to try to get resources to investigate a boogieman organization who he suspected to want revive an ancient evil some considered to merely be a fable. No, he had to do this alone, relying on his own pocket and what was volunteered. That's how he got Murphy working for him. Young officer looking to be a detective someday and had wanted tips from a pro. Well, he was certainly going to learn the virtue of patience doing tedious tasks Malcolm himself didn't like. After a while and more contemplating, Malcolm arrived at the Landing Pads. At first, everything looked in order, but he began to notice a few signs of a tussle. Including some gentlemen coughing and covered in a fowl smell. "Excuse me, boys." Malcolm said pleasantly, pulling out his badge and showing it off. "Detective Callik of the TCPD. I have a few questions." He made sure the guards could see his hand was within easy reach of his sidearm, just in case.
  9. "Firstly, for you to keep your hand away from your blaster." Terra said in a cold tone. He didn't dare spare a look back at the boy, but he could guess from what he was hearing that Aqua was comforting the boy. It became crystal clear to him that there was no way in the Force that they were leaving that kid here. But getting out of here with an angry slaver and possibly an even angrier thief was going to be interesting. "Secondly, I want you to move to that wall" he continued, nodding his head to a wall facing away from the door to what Terra was hoping was the way out "and put your hands on it. Don't move until I say." Using his lightsaber for emphasis, he herded the slaver to the wall he indicated. "Aqua, if you and our new friend will pass behind me, we can get out of this...thing's hair."
  10. (With Scrap at the beach and him wanting Henry to join up with Mariel and Sif, a delay with Everyth actually works out. Unless I'm holding you up, Elrandir?) {Mariel: Mystras Camp} "Trapped." Mariel answered promptly. "Though I didn't really try to go back at first, there still being some loose ends that kept me busy for the first few hundred years." The Guardian Angel eyed Everyth carefully. She had missed the aura around this one. Another augmented human. Though something was off about the aura. A side effect? Everth's observation of her behavior caused Mariel to tighten her jaw. She didn't like being read like this. "It stood to reason to be cautious." She replied carefully. "He saw the real assassin, is a leader on an opposing side of the assassinated queen, and is vying for peace. Any one of these is worth taking extra precautions." Forcing herself to relax, Mariel cocked her head to the side as she continued to study the raven haired human. "So, as a bodyguard yourself, who is your responsibility?"
  11. {Malcolm Callik: Lux Town; Apartment Complex} Malcolm walked quietly down the hall of the apartment complex, eyeing apartment numbers. He stopped in front of one and knocked on it after a brief pause. "Lux Town Police Department!" He said in a clear loud voice. "I have some questions." He listened carefully for any sounds coming from the apartment of his current lead, a young man only known as Raven. He expected some sort of escape attempt, but was prepared for it. After a few moments of silence, he raised his sleeve to his lips. "Murphy?" he said softly. "No one jumping out of windows, sir." Rookie Officer Kyle Murphy answered through the older detective's ear piece. "Copy." Malcolm said, once again softly. He knocked on the door again, once again declaring that he was with the LTPD and he had questions. Still no answer. He did hear a door creak behind him. He turned quickly to see a pair of suspicious eyes peering at him from behind thick rimmed glasses. From what little he could see, he guessed the person he was looking at was an elderly woman. "Can you keep it down, young man!" she asked, sounding irritable. "Some respectable people like peace and quite." "Sorry to disturb you, ma'am." Malcolm replied, pulling out his badge. "I'm Detective Malcolm Callik of the LTPD and I'm looking for the man who rents the apartment across he looks like-" "I know what he looks like!" the elderly woman snapped. "He's out, so stop your banging and yelling." She slammed the door, leaving Malcolm alone. Well, that was pleasant. At least she had given out some valuable information. "Suspect not at home." the police detective said into his cuff as he walked down the hall to an exit. "You keep an eye on the apartment while i follow up some other leads. Do not approach on your own. Call me when you see him and then hang tight." "Yes sir." Officer Murphy said, sounding a little crest fallen. Now, to figure out where this Raven character was.
  12. {Azra} Azra raised an eyebrow at Vita saying he looked lonely. He supposed it looked like it. He actually liked being alone, but it was sadly a dangerous thing to be. Particularly where they were now going. "I suppose it is the education possibilities." He answered Vita's question. "Then, a wide open world afterward." For a moment, he imagined running and hunting through new forests and glades. He pushed the thought down hard, not having time to indulge his more primal half. Still... "Some of the scenery might be nice." Azra added a little reluctantly. He looked back at the black haired girl, wondering how she managed to maintain hope in the Badlands. "Tell me," he began in a lower tone, "Are you worried about how we will be received at the Academy?"
  13. I like the modern key look, but it is still gonna have to grow on me. RIP Way To The Dawn.

  15. {Mariel: Mystras Camp} Mariel let out a breath with the end of Raiden's speech, thankful for the lack of attempts on his life during it. Part of her felt she should stick close to him to ensure he was safe through this unstable time, but that was a stop gap measure. The only way to ensure safety not just Raiden but many others was to find the true killer and bring them to justice. The Guardian Angel had to admit she wasn't the best suited for this task, but she had to try. She would need to meet back up with Sifrei and see if he could still aid her. Perhaps his colleague Rabiyu could offer insight on their culprit. There was also the case of the person Alastor had taken from the crowd that worried her. Deciding to check on the Storm's possible capture, Mariel started to head for the tents when she was approached by Everyth. Great. Complications. "Not his court, no." She answered, wishing she had taken the form of an elf or something. "I was a scout hired for the reputation of my family." She paused a moment, considering trying to maintain some semblance of her cover, but decided against it. "Only no family, just me." Mariel continued. "I have been living in the world below since the last time humans and fey fought."
  16. "I should have thought of that." Terra thought as he moved over to the grate with Aqua. He was about to step out of the dirty clothes silo when the commotion started heading their way. He shared a look of appreciation with Aqua before the boy came into view. The whole scene played out, causing knots to form in the young jedi's stomach. The fires of anger that had flared when Aqua had been pushed down the chute rose again inside Terra. How could such cruelty and evil be allowed to exist? Well, as a Jedi, he would not allow this to stand. As Aqua came out of the silo, Terra slipped past her. Her call to stop was punctuated by the snap hiss of Terra's lightsaber igniting. Moving with practiced ease, the young apprentice was next to the slave driver in a blink, his orange blade arcing up. Lightsaber met whip as it came down, slicing through the torture implement. As the majority of the whip spun harmlessly away, Terra moved back, standing protectively between the slaver and the boy, his blade pointed at the big alien's chest. "Or be stopped." He almost growled, his eyes daring the slaver to try something.
  17. Ina looked excited about the idea of going on a high sea adventure. Waves, weird sea life, sun, and so on and so forth. This was going to be epic. She followed Saros and Moana to the secret cove of ancient ships. An odd feeling of awe swept over the Keyblade Apprentice. She could feel the weight of history in this place, like each ship could tell a thousand stories. It was about this time that it occurred to Ina that she had no idea how to sail any of these things. She had spent her whole life in Radiant Garden, away from seas and ships. As much as she would love to go on the high seas herself, part of her recognized that she might be more of a hindrance than a help in trying to pilot a vessel. "I guess I'll be part of the airborne group." Ina said, somewhat reluctantly. "I can even teleport in between to keep us in contact."
  18. {Destiny Island: Outside the Palace} The soldier approached Aether and Aurion, but stopped before she was within striking distance of either the assassin or delivery boy. "Just a few questions." The soldier asked, moving her head like she was trying to see behind the duo. "Did you see what happened here? Did you see anyone usual? Behaving oddly?" Though the soldier was wearing a full face helmet, a trained eye could see her stance was tense. Perhaps more tense than normal even for this situation. {Silas Ironhart: Destiny Islands; Safe Room} Silas backed off as the medics went to work on Francis. He had done his part, now he had to let them do theirs. Another group of medics came in with guards. This new group of medics started checking on the guards for signs of life. "Sergeant!" The Crown Prince called out, waving over the new guards. "Secure the assassin then take her to the cells." "Yes sir!" the Palace Guard Sergeant snapped, ripping off a perfect salute. A duo of guards moved in on the unconscious Omicron. Before they got to her, her body convulsed once as a power inside her reacting to the close proximity of another user of that power. A few tendrils of Void power emanated from her briefly, then vanished, leaving odd damage patterns under her and a few "scorch" marks on the wall beside her. Silas looked shocked despite himself. He prided himself on his knowledge of magic and elemental manipulation, but he had no idea what had just happened. "Pull her away and bind her." he ordered, approaching the damage left behind by the spark of power. The guards hesitated for a moment, but complied with their prince's orders. They dragged Omicron a little ways away from her former resting place, then shackled her hands and feet. As they did so, their Sergeant put in a call for a power dampening collar to be brought up from the armory. Silas ignored all of this as he studied the residue of power that had come from the assassin. Or, more precisely, the lack of it. What was this?
  19. {Azra, Annistha & Zather} "Thanks" Annistha and Zather said in unison, the former sounding excited and the latter sounding glum. The twins headed to the back of the ship to stow their gear, leading to another glaring moment between Zather and Azra. The blue haired bi-morph walked to the side of the boat and looked out at the water. The path to a new life. He already had plans for it, though he would need to be ready to adapt. And the twins would be of unwitting help in that. Azra was still in thought when Vita called out to him. He turned and gave her a faint quizzical look. VIta was someone he didn't feel like he had a good handle on. She seemed rather innocent and sweet, but on an island of villains, one learned not to go on just what was outwardly apparent. "...Very well." he answered, heading over to Vita's side. "Though I am sure others would be better company." With their bags put away, the Twins moved back to the main part of the ship. Zather immediately took a seat while Annistha ran to a rail and nearly leaned out over it. "How long does the trip take, Mr. Duck?" the Light Twin asked as she looked out at the horizon. {Val} Val shrugged to Fiona's question about Riku's Replica. "No idea." She said. "But they stay out there anyway. Maybe he's dealing with guilt?" Going back to the paper, the oldest Villiers sibling started reading a story on a hikers being saved by a hermit. The hikers were out of towners, so she didn't know them. But she did have theories about the hermit. Someone staying away out of guilt. Like replica like original? "Wait, what?" Val said, realizing Fiona had still been talking. She replayed the last few moments in her head to get the question. "Oh, well, yeah." She answered. "These kids need all the positive reinforcement they can get. That means good role models and friends. I can help with one of those."
  20. Yeah, sorry. I've been sick lately and caught up with another hobby. I'll try to get my butt in gear and keep things going. I'm alright with you using my characters.
