do u kno that lightning can actually survive in space

i was watching a documentary where they say that severe storms all the way up in the atmosphere have lightning that are 30 feet long and go into space

well, yeah. space has incredibly low electrical resistance. but where would it be trying to go? the reason it goes to earth is because earth is an electrical ground. space shouldn't provide that sort of ground... although cloud to cloud lightning does happen, i think... so maybe it's that?

Maybe. I mean, there are so many things about space we don't know. Like we didn't know orphan planets could exist and we only discovered that just recently. So maybe there is a lightning storm out there, kind of like the lightning storm that was in the 2009 Star Trek.
