Kingdom Hearts 3D Remake included with Kingdom Hearts 3
AnHeiressofaSOLDIER replied to kingdomlanelover's topic Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re MindI could see this, actually, and have thought about it myself. I mean, 3D has to be included somewhere.; it's too important not to be. And the fact they aren't including it in I.5 and II.5 seems fishy to me. I think it would be a great idea, honestly. It would just be that added bonus to make people even happier, you know? And 3D is pretty much KHIII part 1, anyway. It would make sense if it was in III. And just imagine what all they could do with it! It's also likely, seeing as how the PS4 has a touch screen (thus the Reality Shifts could still be in there), and that both seem to use Flowmotion. (Perhaps they'll test the 3D version to come up with the new version of it?) So, yeah. I could definitely see it. And seeing as how Nomura loves to use symbolism, I could imagine him teasing it in the III trailer. Especially since the former part of the trailer could be seen as advertisements for I.5 and II.5

What is the Biggest Question that we will never know in KH?
What the factoring heck is Nami?! Axel was reading a freaking "The Truth About Naminé" book in Days. What does that mean?! (Also, does anyone know if they kept that scene in the HD version of Days?) Just what is up with the Haunted Mansion in Twilight Town? I'm sure there was supposed to be some sort of story behind it, but it never was revealed. @Admiral Antoine I agree with you one hundred percent. It still will never happen, but I just have to wonder why. It's just sloppy to leave that plot point untied when it was so apparent in KHI (and some of the others). I mean, their romance doesn't have to be over the top: Kairi could just give Sora a favor to where in battle, but they just need something to happen. Something to get over the white elephant in the room (and to get Kairi and Sora to stop being so awkward around each other). I just don't want It to be a loose end anymore (or a severe case of the "What Happened to the Mouse" trope). Plus, it could show the characters are aging and becoming more realistic. Nomura said that Sora would be more mature in III, and this could be a good way to do it. Just please don't steal even more of the small role that Kairi has. And you know, some people think a romance in KH would mess up the pace and feel of the series, but I think if they just did very small things, it would be fine. Heck, I think it'd help the pacing, actually, as KH needs periods of rest in it. All I'm saying is that there doesn't need to be a Tidus/Yuna level of romance, but just a little something to make Sora and Kairi's interactions more bearable. (Seriously. I miss seeing them act like they did in KHI, like with nice little banter between them. What happened to that?) Also... I know some people think Nomura doesn't like romance, because of that one interview, but I don't know how accurately you can actually take that. The interviewer had asked him, randomly, about Sephiroth's love life of all things. To that end, I can easily see why he was like "WTF kind of question is that?" And gave his: "I don't care who loves who" spiel, but you have to remember: that question was entirely different from asking about Sora and Kairi (or something), that has actually been hinted at and has relevance. And let's not forget Nomura also stated we could view KH as a way of seeing Cloud/Aerith together again (or something like that), and that Noctis/Stella seems to be happening in XV. To that end, I don't think Nomura's completely opposed to romance in games. It just has to be done the right way. Sorry for going off on this rant guys, but it's something that's bothered me for a long time. Just ignore this, if it pleases you. I was just thinking out loud...

Weekly Jump reveals Snow’s role in Lightning Returns
...Why do I get the feeling Snow's going to be all Caius like in this game? It reminds me of this vid, actually. Is he going to screw everyone else over to try and save Serah? I could kind of see that, to be honest. Also, is it just me or does Light look like she's fighting Snow in the upper right hand corner pic? Jeez. It looks like everyone's going crazy in this game: Noel, Snow, Lumina (who has Serah's face)... poor Lightning. Her life sucks. Here's hoping Square's not lying about the happy ending this time! I'm really looking forward to this game even more now:) And I'm just going to come out and say it: Snow looks really hot here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way, either. Major props, Nomura. He looks SO much better here than he did in the XIII-2 design. Also... I think Snow might have stolen Riku's long locks. So THAT'S what happened to Riku's hair. -shot. shot. completely shot.-

How did you find out about Kingdom Hearts?
The "Disney's Secret Lab" commercial that they first aired for KHI. The idea that you could "control the Disney movies" sold my sister and I right there. We didn't even have a PS2 at the time! But we had our parents get us one for Christmas just for KH, and I haven't looked back since. I've played every U.S. released KH game, and know I always will, too (buying game systems in the process, undoubtedly). KH has impacted my life in an amazing way, and that's why it'll always be a part of me and vice versa. It's been a great ten years (and more than half of my life)! LOL.

Square Enix Teases E3 2013 With Poster
Edit: This image is completely fake. Just compare 1:06 in the video below to the picture above. 'Nuff said. -sighs sadly- ...Is this supposed to be a joke (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm seriously asking.) On one hand, this looks suspiciously like the tree from the Timeline video. , However, it's somewhat different, too. In all honesty, someone probably just edited that image and is messing with us (since I, sadly, doubt KHII will be at E3), but then again... I have no idea what to hope, think, and feel anymore! -pulls hair out in aggravation- If this is a jest, please don't do this again until after E3, guys. After all these years, my heart can't take this anymore. And you know, the "EIII" thing especially makes it seem fake. I thought it was "E3", but then again, if this is real, Square probably did that to tease KHIII, and gah! I'm so confused. Brain hemorrhage. Brain hemorrhage!

Madoka Magica DVD Help
Oh wow. I didn't even think about that! I'll be sure to give it a try as soon as I can, though. Thanks a bunch!

Madoka Magica DVD Help
That's what I was thinking it was. Thank you so much for responding and telling me I was starting to fear I was just never supposed to have a working version of this DVD or something. LOL. Knowing it's just the DVD player makes life so much better! I'll just have to watch it on my PS3 from now on. It sucks, though, because that means I have to watch it on my smaller and non-HDTV. I'd play my PS3 on the HDTV, but for some weird reason the sound from the games/console work, but there's no picture with it. You don't happen to know why that might be, do you? ^_^ Thanks again for the help! -Shanna

Madoka Magica DVD Help
So, if this isn't the correct section for this post, feel free to move it, Mods. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you could help me? See, I bought the third DVD of Puella Magi Madoka Magica a little bit ago, and for the most part everything was fine... except when I got to the last episode, it would skip a lot, and sometimes wouldn't even play at all. So, like any other person would, I inspected the DVD, and tried to clean it for fingerprints (and keep in mind the DVD was brand spanking new when I bought it, so it hardly should have got damaged during its first use). However, that seemed to make it worse, so that episode eleven wouldn't work, either, and sometimes the whole DVD wouldn't! Oddly enough, though, it did work on my PS3 perfectly, but there were also other DVD players I tested it with, and they wouldn't play it all together. Even weirder: there are days when the DVD seems to be working better (like it plays the first three episodes without a problem on that first DVD player, anyway). But no matter what I do (except for when I use the PS3), the last episode never plays right. Now this is where it gets weird. I bought the DVD again, and watched it over at my friend's house, and it went off without a hitch. Now that I'm trying it on that same DVD player from before, though (the one that originally wouldn't play episode twelve and started this mess), the SAME EXACT THING IS HAPPENING. This is just spooky. How in the world are both of the DVDs doing this, unless there's something wrong with ALL the disc threes created? And like I said before, it worked perfectly well on my friend's DVD player. Anyway, I haven't tried to clean the DVD this time (and once again, it shouldn't need it, because it's pretty much new), and I haven't tried it anywhere else (mainly because I'm afraid to touch the damn thing at this point), but I wonder if the same outcome would happen on my PS3 and the other DVD players again. So does anyone have any idea what's going on here? Have you had a similar thing happen to you before (maybe even with Madoka, specifically the last disc)? Do you think it's just really weird, bad luck? Do you think both discs (hell, maybe even all versions of it) are messed up? Do you think it's the DVD player? What can I do? This was my favorite disc, too, and-- gah! This is like a freakin' nightmare. Maybe I'll just wake up and realize this was all a bad dream. But if you could give me any help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm seriously about to pull my hair out in frustration, and I don't want to buy a THIRD version of this DVD, in the off chance it would work. At this point, I half expect it to behave exactly the same way. -sigh- Oh! And I suppose I should mention it's the Aniplex English version (that also has the Japanese dub w/ English subtitles) that's doing this.

If you could, would you rather skip Roxas's prologue?
Yes. OMG, YES! I used to like it (and still do to an extent), but it's so slow, boring, and redundant. Seriously. With Days' existence, and knowing all of Roxas' story and then some, it's completely pointless now! It doesn't help that Xion herself was pretty much going through an elongated version of "Roxas' Twilight Town" in Days. It's also made bad by the fact that KHII is just so hammy, cliché, and silly at times. Don't get me wrong: I LOVE KHII, but they tried way too hard in that game to be epic, when really it just seems forced. It's like what NTom64 says about the Ansem/DiZ conversation here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy8rWxA8fCU Or when Sora and Kairi hug in KHII, he jokes, "Real emotion in my Kingdom Hearts game? Get it out. Get it out now!" And then when Sora's crying about Riku he's like, "There we go. Back to the bullshit." Oh, KHII. Just why? Anyway, moving on since I'm getting way off topic: Another thing I'm worried about is KHIIFM in II.5, actually. Mainly the scenes from Days that are in the game. In some ways... I sort of wish they'd leave them out. I'm probably going to get killed for saying that, but it was fine before Days existed. But now that we can just pop in the Days movie and see the scenes whenever we want to, it's really tedious and annoying. Especially since if you're playing the games in chronological order, you just saw the Roxas vs. Riku scene like five seconds ago, anyway. You don't need flashbacks in a game if you have an entire entry about those flashbacks.

What year were you born in?
1992. The year Aladdin came out. 'Twas a great year, as that was a great movie. Yay for being born in the golden era of Disney! (And a time where Aladdin wouldn't have been taking in by the CIA. -points to video below- LOL.)
-
Which title are you looking forward to more?
II.5. Even though I'm so psyched to play KHIFM finally (as the original Kingdom Hearts is my favorite in the series), and the Days movie... I am so done with CoM. Seriously. At this point, a lot of us have already played two versions of the game. (Maybe even three, for the people who played Re:CoM with KHIIFM, in thinking that it wouldn't be released in the U.S., only to have to pick up the English version when it did come out). I'll play it in I.5, of course, but after that... probably never again. CoM was never my favorite game to begin with, and the only way I ever see myself touching it after I.5 is if the "next new version" had holograms or something (but probably not even then). Don't get me wrong! I'm glad the game's in the collection, of course (and that countries who didn't get Re:CoM originally can finally play it and whatnot), but... Anyway, back on topic. I'm very excited for II.5 because it has two main titles in it (two of the best in the series, actually), and the Final Mix versions of them, that I've been wanting to play for years. And seeing all the cool stuff they added to II.5, it truly is the best FM out there, and so worth it's money's worth. Not looking forward to Coded, though. At all. But I guess if it's like the Days movie, and keeps its funny moments, then it's fine. If only DDD was part of the deal... oh well. This collection will still be amazing, and it'll most likely (finally!) tease KHIII. So yay! Plus, I'm sure they'll port 3D in some way or another eventually.

Best PS3 J-RPGs
I really like Eternal Sonata. And even with as much (unjustified) hate that they get, I really love FFXIII and XIII-2.

Rank the series
Oh, dear. I'm afraid I'm not cool enough to rank the games in all these categories myself (seriously: major props for that Weiss). LOL. But I will attempt to at least rank my overall favorites (mostly in story) and in gameplay. So going with overall game (and story?), and my enjoyment/love for it: Kingdom Hearts I, Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts II (though I do like KHII, and sometimes think it beats BbS for me, since BbS was almost too much like KHI... there was so much silliness to KHII, however, that I have to rank it like this right now), Dream Drop Distance (I don't know so much as for story as for overall... well, maybe, but I did have some issues with the plot), 358/2 Days, Chain of Memories (it's strange; while I do think CoM has a better story than Days, and maybe even DDD, that game frustrates me to no end. Probably because the entire time I want to scream, "No, Sora! Listen to Vexen! You're about to eff everything up for numerous games to come, and Nami's replacing Kairi with herself in your memories." For reasons like that, I prefer Days over CoM. Plus, I really enjoyed 358, and it's change of pace, and don't think it got as much credit as it actually deserves), and Re:Coded (no surprise there, as this game really had no overall relevance to the plot). As for gameplay... It's probably BbS, 3D (why'd they have to get rid of command melding, and make you level up through your Spirits?! Otherwise, this game would have easily beat out BbS for me!), KHII (if it wasn't so easy, and Reaction Command heavy), KHI, Re:Coded, Days, CoM... Those last three were really hard choices for me. Because while in ways I love Re:Coded's gameplay, and think it should be much higher on the list, things like the Eliminators, difficult System Sector stuff, and unneeded padding in the Castle Oblivion level, make me really dislike that game (sometimes I dislike it even more than Days' gameplay). And though in some ways I think Days' gameplay should be ranked after CoM, I could just never master the card system. And though the controls were as clunky as hell in 358, I understood they had issues with it, and do like how they at least tried to make it like the traditional KH battle system. There are days I really enjoy the Days' gameplay challenge, actually, but other things (like having to wait until all the Heartless are defeated to be able to access things, which they fixed in KHII. I don't know why they brought it back for Days)... not so much. Anyway...

Should Kairi have been in DDD (KINDA A SPOILER!)
Hahaha. Thanks a lot! And glad you guys liked (and even agreed) with what I wrote. For more info on my thoughts about Kairi (if you're interested, of course), you can actually read an editorial I wrote about it all here http://www.khinsider.com/editorials/Kairi-The-True-Forgotten-Girl-in-Kingdom-Hearts-3275#comments. Thanks again:) P.S. I'm a girl, but I know it's an easy mistake to makeXD

Should Kairi have been in DDD (KINDA A SPOILER!)
Honestly, Kairi definitely should have been in DDD more (she should be in the entire series more, actually). As this was the ten-year anniversary game, it's inexcusable how little she was in it. Granted, there was coding for her KHI model found in BbSFM (when it originally was going to have a KH3D demo in it), so maybe they were going to have her more (even playable, possibly), but couldn't because of time constraints? Still, Square-Enix has really dropped the ball with Kairi, and I hope they get it right soon, but at this rate, I'm afraid they're going to just screw it up again. She has such potential and could be a great character, but honestly, I think some fans write her better than Nomura does. And there were so many opportunities she could have been in 3D. Like, when Sora was falling into Darkness he could have said Kairi's name (in realizing he would never see her again and was breaking his promise, remembering how she'd saved him when he became a Heartless, etc.), and it would have been a great tie back to KHI! Or they could have had Riku go get her when things seemed the worst, and had her try to help Sora. If nothing else, they should have at least had Sora look at his lucky charm once, or maybe have had her there watching them take the MoM. Seriously. I still get why she didn't go. DGM were there, and they didn't do anything. They were just there for moral support. And what happened to the "I'm sick of being left behind" girl? Why'd she let them go without her? This would have been a great time for her to see the worlds some, seeing as how they thought Xehanort was gone and stuff. -sigh- I just don't get it. The only thing that makes sense is if they were trying to make the fact "she's a wielder and Light" shocking, but it just came off as stupid to me. We already knew she could use a Keyblade, and most of us had guessed she was one of the Seven Lights. And don't even get me started on the raft thing... It would have just been so much better if she'd gone to the Tower earlier, and had begun her training that much sooner. And has no one learned not to leave Kairi alone after what happened with Axel? Jesus, people. So much for the "take care of her" crap and all that. -sigh-
-
Kairi's game
I still say the best thing would be for her to be the tutorial character in III. I mean, it would make sense story wise and it would cover her training in a satisfactory way, I think. Really, I think the idea's just too good to pass up. It would give her more screen time that she deserve early on, appease those who want to play as her without being too sidetrack-y, and it would be a book end. KHI had Sora have his "Awakening", KHII was Roxas', so why not Kairi for III? And going along with that, if we play as her first, maybe that'll make Sora at a higher level when we get him (kind of like the Roxas to Sora transfer in II). That would also make sense with the story, seeing as how since Sora's pretty much at Master status... he really shouldn't start out at level 1 again.
-
what is Yen Sid doing with Kairi?
They're going to train her to wield her Keyblade properly. Since she's now a target of Xehanort's by being both one of the Guardians of Light and a Princess of Heart (the Princesses makes up all the Light in the world), her knowing how to defend herself is a necessity. And frankly I can't wait to see her in action. I think she could rise to be an amazing hero. Kairi's always had a lot of potential, and I truly hope she gets her time to shine now.

KH Ladies Fanclub
So, I don't know if anyone's interested in reading this, but I just posted an article on KHInsider about Kairi's treatment in the KH series, and my thoughts on it. It can be found here. http://www.khinsider.com/editorials/Kairi-The-True-Forgotten-Girl-in-Kingdom-Hearts-3275 Be sure to tell me what you all think about it... if you feel obliged, that is. I'm actually a bit nervous. This is the first editorial I've published, so... Also, thank you so much for making this thread, KaiSo. The KH ladies deserve so much more love than they get. I personally love them all, and hold many as my favorite characters in the series. So thanks for having this positive forum about the girls; they get too much hate, but maybe this is a step in the right direction to change that now.

OTP Thread
Sora/Kairi, Roxas/Xion, Neku/Shiki, Joshua/Rhyme. My four favorite pairings of anything and everything, and that'll never change. These four are love to me, and I'll always adore them an insane amount. (Though I do like other pairings, too. Just not near as much as these four.) Also, Javelin434, I completely agree with you on your KH pairings, but I'd throw in Terra/Aqua, and maybe Hayner/Olette, too.

If you were any KH character, who would you be?
Xion. Without going into too much detail about it, we're both INTPs, so I can relate to her a lot. It also works well, seeing as how she's my fav girl in the series (and my second fav character, in general). Though honestly, it is odd that I like her so much, seeing as how we INTPs are rather self-loathing, and tend to hate characters like us; we usually like characters opposite of us. Anyway...

AnHeiressofaSOLDIER's comment on FireRubies1's profile
I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards it not being accurate most likely, but it wasn't bad (and I don't know if I ever watched another version of it), so I'd give it a try. I did enjoy it:) And you can always try watching other versions later, if you need to. Or have you tried watching the British or just a subtitled version?

Any Magical Girl Fans Out There?
LOL. The Sailor Moon anime is indeed flawed, but I still love it. Probably for nostalgic reasons and that it was my first anime (though the manga is miles better). But Sailor Moon is just awesome. It was the first anime where a team of magical girls (in matching outfits) fought the forces of evil together. And look at all of the amazing stories it has brought:) And you should so watch PMMM. It's amazing. I haven't connected to something this much in a long time. It just completely took my breath away, and I don't regret a minute of it. I love the characters, story, music, animation, plot twists... it's all superb. It's easily become one of my fav animes now, and I love its fresh approach to Magical Girls. And thanks for the info about Tokyo Mew Mew; I'll keep that in mind when I check it out. Most people think the manga's better than Mew Mew Power, so... I think you'll like Winx Club (if you're not watching the 4Kids version of it, that is). I used to really be obsessed with it, but fell out of it when the movie didn't come here for years. I really should get into it again, though. I do sort of feel I might be a bit old for it, however, but that might just be me being silly. I really do enjoy WC, for what it's worth.

Deep Jungle would make a one good Flowmotion world.
Actually, I'm almost 100% certain that the tree surfing (and Wisdom Form in KH2) is what led to the creation of Flowmotion. At least, I think it seems that way... -goes to make comparison pic I've been planning for eons-

Any Magical Girl Fans Out There?
Hahaha. I love Magical Girls! Right now I'm totally obsessed with Pullea Magi Madoka Magica (it's become one of my favorite animes ever, as well as one of my fav Magical Girl ones). Other ones I love are: Sailor Moon (THE magical girl anime, as well as my first anime ever and favorite one for that fact), Winx Club (though I know it and some of the other ones I'm listing here aren't animes), Cardcaptor Sakura, Prétear, Magic Knight Rayearth, Wedding Peach, W.i.t.c.h., the Tenchi OVA series: Pretty Sammy, etc. There are so many great Magical Girl animes. And there are still so many I need to watch/read, and I can't wait to do so: Mermaid Melody, Tokyo Mew Mew, Princess Tutu, etc. Hell, even things like Totally Spies and The Powerpuff Girls can be seen as Magical Girl shows. Also, the dresssperees in FFX-2 were so Magical Girl-esque. LOL. Needless to say, I love Magical Girl stories. They're so similar in some ways, but also different. The stories and characters are great, the emotions are really there and there's just so much to enjoy and love about them! Here are some cool MG amvs I've found lately, if you're interested (though I'd stay away from the second PMMM one if you haven't seen the anime, as the amv has a ton of spoilers).
