    but its still linear. you go from point A to point B. not to say i loved 9 i did never beat it though, got to the huge giant purple thing on disc 4 i think it was and just kinda stopped

    Storywise, it's a bit linear, but you can travel anywhere at anytime when you don't want to follow the story, basically. There are even hidden places you can't go to unless you divert from the story.
