Well, there are conservatives that think liberals blindly believe liberalism because of their parents, are ridiculously environmentalist, and just in general are uninformed. Both sides are wrong. Each side has their own philosophies that are at the root of who they are as human beings. They struggle to see eye to eye because they fail to see how someone elses opinion is right when it contradicts their internal philosophy. At least for you youre opening up to see the other viewpoint which is more than most people will do. But, alas, I am an independent so I cant give you that viewpoint myself.

For me, Im putting it more as a draw. If you read the transcript of the debate, it looked like Biden won. If you watched it on TV, it looked like Ryan won. There is an interesting balance of the impression they gave and what facts they laid out. A part of me believes Ryans poker face was tactfully used, since he didnt have to provoke Biden to look bad. He was doing a fine job at that on his own. But I felt Ryan didnt bring as much information to the play or counter strongly against Biden. The winner is most likely in the eye of the beholder. Also, the moderator did a much better job than the last one. The only thing that threw me off was the complete 180 when after talking about security and economy she threw that specific social issue on abortion. If she had connected it to health care it would of made since, but she didnt. It felt very random to throw that question in.

I have been blessed to have supportive parents, even if things are still a bit complicated. Granted, I havent told them Im bisexual but thats more because I dont feel comfortable talking to them about it. But they throw out money for me to get materials to make armor and weapons and, if I help out with some stuff at home, they fund my trips with my hamlet. I would say that if anything I was the nonsupporting son when my mom remarried. But after my sister was born I realized what was important and stopped being an ass to my step dad.
