  1. I'm not saying you aren't right that a small-scale boycott like this won't do anything or that playing with a dictionary/learning English isn't an option (or a good idea), I just wanted to clarify that it's not completely unreasonable. Sorry if I sounded like a jerk.
  2. You must be extremely ignorant when it comes to other country's educational systems. I don't need translations any more, but you can bet that some random Italian or Spanish kid will need 'em. Even over here in Germany where we have somewhat satisfying mandatory English classes, not everyone, especially not kids, speak enough English to fully enjoy English games. You guys over there really are in a good place. No dumb dubs on TV, learning English is encouraged a lot earlier... Save for Scandinavian countries though every of your neighbouring countries is infected by dubs, translated books and slow education. And even if that wasn't the case, you can't EXPECT anyone to pick up another language. So no, it's not ridiculous. Get off your high horse and embrace reality. I don't need translations, you don't need translations, loads of other people don't. But there are more that do, so let them have their little protest.
  3. Damn USK. Ruins every cover of every game ever. If it doesn't come with a flippable cover without their obnoxious logo, I'm definitely buying out of the country.
  4. Damn USK. Ruins every cover of every game ever. If it doesn't come with a flippable cover without their obnoxious logo, I'm definitely buying out of the country. EDIT: That was the wrong that. Please delete; I can't seem to be able to do it myself. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  5. Lucky for those who speak English, really. I don't know if the cartridge will be multi language, so I'll rather import the UK version than buy it in Germany. Can't play anything but KH1 and KH2 (fantastic dubs) in German any more. Definitely sucks for everyone in Spain and Italy who doesn't speak English, though. I imagine most long-time fans are in their twenties now and speak English, but it's a shame that so many kids will miss out on a good game because of budgeting issues. There were really fantastic voice actors in KH and KH2, no question. And I don't know your playing habits, but after playing KH in Japanese and English for a lot longer than I played it in German during the first years, I just couldn't go back any more. Why "hatred"? We're just not as big of a market, it seems. It looks very mainstream, having big companies behind it, but KH is very niche. I think they have trouble marketing it to anyone but fans and kids, and kids these days aren't really into this stuff any more. =( Imagine they would have done something like this back in 2002. How many of us wouldn't be here? I know I didn't speak a single word of English back then. Scary thought.
  6. If that's an assumption, why didn't you mark it as such? I'm not too sure about this site's spoiler policy, but if it's actual knowledge from the next game, I think it would be adequate to mark these as spoilers, especially before the world-wide release in a topic relating to a previous game.
  7. It was on the game's European release date. The strategy of luring people to buy the game using FF characters really worked.. I was 13 back then, turning 23 later this year. It's really fantastic to see that out of all the things that changed during the past decade, the KH series has been a constant thing for me. Whenever I play it, I can't help but feel like I'm at home.
  8. Would you mind to elaborate how this moves the topic forward? I can't help but feel like I'm missing something. "Too" and the additional full stop made me suspicious, so I figured it was some kind of meme I'm not getting, but my research yielded no results. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  9. Back when I was still writing shitty articles for my school's news paper and spec scripts for various shows, nobody told me about writing groups. I wish somebody did, so I'll tell you: Join a writing circle if you want to grow as a writer. Even if it's just NaNoWriMo or something related to fan fiction. It REALLY helps. Of course there's nothing wrong with just sharing stories the way you just did. Just a little hint your future self might be happy about.
  10. You mean someone finally figured out how to plug a TRS plug into their 3DS and their sound card? That shit really sounds like rocket science to me.
  11. Thought you had to sign an NDA for that.

I miss my school days. It's been almost 6 years now, wow. I'm not saying that school isn't horrible, though.
  13. With a sigh at most. Playing KH2 on critical with Zero EXP active really takes the frustration out of losing. I'm a fairly capable player, but doing stuff like that probably showed me more game over screens while playing this series alone than some other people see in their entire lifetime throughout their entire library of games. Other than the tediousness of MF, BBS really wasn't enough to get under my skin. I lost to Vanitas' LS a lot but had a lot of fun doing so.
  14. 3 months? This should bring back painful memories for some of us.
  15. That's what I meant.
  16. I'm so tempted to continue this, but I fear my e-balls will be gone afterwards..
  17. Well, for the chance that it was an actual KH song, do you remember anything about it? The key(s), maybe a single melody or even just the tempo? If you don't know about that, why don't you try describing the song? Not with technical terms, just the mood or whatever. Maybe someone recognizes it then.
  18. In that case I probably can't help you. Just try doing a search with your favourite search engine for one or two lines of the song's text, if it had any.
  19. Vanitas' LS was definitely the bigger challenge (when not using certain exploits), but MF took me a lot longer. It's a very spammy battle. Some dodges and blocks I had to do were completely based on luck or on mashing buttons. I still can't get over how boring this fight was to me. Especially after all the excitement that previous extra bosses put me through.
  20. Just to make sure I understand this right. Was it a gameplay recording with the game's music in it, or was it something another person made and added whatever music to? If that's the case, just search for the bits and pieces of the lyrics you remember. In the first case, though, JTD95's question should definitely be answered. Then we can figure this out.
  21. Of course you are missing out on something, that's not the question you should ask yourself. It's from a series you seem to enjoy, so every word of every game's script that you didn't read would be missing out, right? You probably want to know if it's well-spent money. But to answer this question, you should really either just look up what kind of content this game offers or tell us what your minimum expectations are. You can get anywhere between 10 and 200 hours out of this game's contents, really. And it's not as much of a collect-a-thon like KH2 and especially BBS were, there are actual things to do. Smooth and varied gameplay, nice dialogue and a story that's easy to follow. It's not too engaging, but it is also easy to play for a few minutes and then put it away. It's customizable in terms of difficulty at all times and a true portable game. A quality one at that, even if you'd completely remove "Kingdom Hearts" from it. (Not considering the Japanese import I played beforehand I paid around 20€ and got more out of this game than I expected. Of course, if you were to spend 20€ in digital PC game purchases your playtime would far exceed Re:Coded's, but let's assume you're in it for KH, not money:playtime. I'd say "have a go". No need to hurry, though. If you look around enough you'll definitely find a good deal and make it even more worth it. Even if it turns out to be not your kind of game you at least have another part for your collection.
  22. Heh. I also want to congratulate you on your choice to seek out international conversations. When I was your age I couldn't speak coherent English, so I was bound to the terrible German forums and chats. You'll definitely have some fun here, it seems rather nice.
  23. Enjoy your stay, Kairilein. When I was in school nobody else there cared about KH either, so I know how you feel. I can help you with that. There are set dates, a fee (I think 26€ a lap) and some more regulations, but you can drive your own (or rental) car or bike there, yes! You can also buy and, from what I remember, rent on-board cameras, so that's kinda cool for everyone with a certain need for speed.
  24. Thank you! I'm glad I found some people who think in a similar fashion. And right under your avatar it says "Translating Team", so for whatever you translate for whomever -- thank you! Languages are a fantastic thing, but barriers can get in the way. Helping to remove these is a fine move in my book.
