  1. Any 90's kids here remember Beanie Babies? I just found a really rare one (Doodle) that I've always wanted for $3 bucks at a Farmer's Market. So much for being a valuable collector's item.
  2. Once upon a time the end.
  3. Honestly, after playing a fan game called Pokemon Reborn, I'm not sure if I can ever go back to the original series. Too easy from what I understand, but if I had to pick, I'd say Gen 4.
  4. I've always been partial to KH1's design above the others. It's all... gold and shiny 'n stuff.
  5. If you want mystery, read Umineko no Naku Koro Ni or its spiritual predecessor, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni.
  6. Microsoft, stahp. You already brute-forced two PCs at work into upgrading to Windows 10, and then I come home and have to deal with more of it.
  7. Welcome to the world of Pokeymans. Although, in Pokermons it's just as likely you'll turn the tables on the enemy.
  8. If not Rowlet, I'd probably choose the clown seal. You can't go wrong with a clown seal. But I usually pick the bird options when they're available (Torchic and Piplup were picked for being birbs), so their evolutions would probably be the tie-breaker.

You jerks are going to fill my notifications with joy and sparkles.
  10. This is probably the biggest reason I like Joss Whedon's work in the Avengers films. In addition to kickass action, the characters themselves are so entertaining to watch.

  12. This is just me, but considering your situation I'd say the Go By Myself option isn't a bad choice. I'm pretty unconventional in that I can treat going to the movies as a solo event. You pay more attention to the movie than each other anyway, and sometimes the movie I want to see isn't something that interests anyone else so I don't want to drag them to anything they don't want to see. So no, I don't consider going to the movies by yourself weird or doing yourself a disservice. Admittedly I've probably gotten too comfortable with my own company, but I think there is a virtue in being able to go at it alone for entertainment. I can go do stuff outside and go places by myself, with the bonus of being able to experience it at my own pace. A handy justification for those of who are far from social butterflies. Still, if you made plans and your friend bailed on you on short notice, yeah, that's kind of rude. I'm a stickler for plans and punctuality so if I or someone else makes a commitment, I expect to stick with it. On the other hand, life happens and other things come up, which is why it's nice to be able to make your own fun in case plans get derailed. If it bothers you that much, you could always talk to your friend about how much this bothers you. You could also see what you can do with the friend who lives further away. If you have trouble getting over there, is there any way she or someone else you/she knows can drive you there? Or find another theater to go to if one exists that's closer to both of you, and it's feasible to get to?
  13. Rowlet may have singlehandedly given me a reason to use a Grass-type Pokemon for any reason ever.
  14. Wait, we met on Halloween? That long ago? Oh dear. I think I forgot an anniversary. This is the part where I'd be exiled to the couch if I didn't live across an ocean.
  15. Interestingly enough, me and my (much older) coworkers were talking about this subject just this morning. They didn't think games were childish or to be outgrown, per se, but they didn't have a high opinion of them. That's because Coworker A's husband tends to spend upwards of $200 a month on in-game purchases in his MMO (I forget which), and Coworker B's son or relative apparently hasn't even gone to college yet because he's too busy gaming. Their stance on gaming is negative in general, because they've only experienced the negative sides of them -- the ones where they have to nag their own husband's spending habits, or deal with a deadbeat who won't get off his ass and do something with his life. Obviously I came to gaming's defense, but it's hard to fault them for disliking what they view as a frivolous money-sink when they have house mortgages and kids to worry about. At the least, I showed them that it's possible to graduate college and have a job and still be a gamer. It's just when it's in excess that it comes to be a problem -- when anything comes to be a problem. I can spend $200 on Starbucks coffee and it'd have roughly the same effect as spending it for a game, although Coworker A would probably argue that at least coffee is more tangible than some bytes of data (but that's a debate for another time).
  16. Xion's not my favorite, either, but I can understand why people like her. The reasons for folks hating her are pretty well-covered by this point, but as for why they like her? Well, she might not the most necessary character to the plot, but even I can see her as endearing in her own way. She has pitiable circumstances, yet she's quiet and sweet, and it can be nice just watching her enjoy herself with her friends (seriously, for a series that focuses so much on friendship, how often do you see these characters just sitting around and being friends?). Granted, a lot of characters are nice and sweet and care for their friends, but so what? She's still a cutie pie. And I don't think finding Xion relatable is out of the question. Xion can relate to lonely people, or people who are forced into circumstances where they must sacrifice their own happiness for the sake of others. She wants a life that she can't have, friends who she'll just end up hurting. She's is stuck between a rock and a hard place, grappling with how she might not deserve the life she wants or the friends she has just because of the circumstances of her creation. Her very existence was not meant to be and is just hurting the people she cares about. Running away is hardly the best way to deal with the problem, but I actually find it fascinating when characters do things like that (which is why it baffles me that so many people hate Donald for abandoning Sora at Hollow Bastion in KH1 -- I thought that having to choose his duty over his friendship was a tough decision that wasn't easy on Donald either, and I thought that was one of the most interesting moments of his character, but I digress). You can argue that Xion continually put Roxas and Axel through hoops to find her, and I agree, especially since she never gets called out on the headaches her running away caused, but I don't really hold it against her character. You gotta admit that Xion is not in a fun place to be. And sure, Xion coming back would cheapen her death, but that's hardly anything new with KH. Pretty much everyone who sacrificed themselves or is otherwise out of commission somehow is coming back, or at least is strongly implied to be coming back. Even Goofy got a scene where Sora and co. thought he died. And on a side note, I'd argue that Xion fits the bill as Roxas's love interest or even just a normal friend better than Namine does. I'm hardly a shipper myself, and I actually think Roxas and Namine are cuter together. But, Xion actually hangs out with Roxas. Namine's interactions with him are to tell him that he's not supposed to exist, and the fact that Roxas/Namine parallels the implied Sora/Kairi can be taken as shallow to some -- if they're only in love because Sora and Kairi are (most likely) in love, then doesn't that mean their relationship is nothing more than a reflection of someone else's -- something that's not really theirs? If Roxas/Xion is a thing, at least it's one that can stand on its own merits. And I just wanted to begin another paragraph with 'and.'
  17. Well, I got it off (mostly). I guess life is worth living again.
  18. Ahh, those were the days. Actually, no they weren't. School bites. Hurry and graduate and get jobs, then you can go to coffee shops and write Kingdom Hearts fanfiction on your laptop while the students around you are studying for physics and chemistry or other important things that aren't KH fanfics.
  19. A piece of band-aid is stuck to my sock and I can't peel it off. Things like this is why I hate life.
  20. Birthday happy. Burn everything to the ground in the name of cake.

    Yes.
  22. I am disappointed by the lack of Kiki's Delivery Service in the options. Not that I'd vote for it, mind you, but c'mon, it's Kiki's Delivery Service. I would say Princess Mononoke, but I haven't seen it in ages, so Spirited Away gets my vote. The bathhouse would be a cool place to explore and all the different kinds of spirits would give the setting its own vibe.
  23. Either the real Earth is going a great job hiding all those mako reactors, or Gaia's solar system just happens to have 7.5 other planets with the same names and sizes as ours.
