There could be characters not in Beacon at all, be them antagonists or otherwise. One RWBY RP I was in, had my character qualify for Beacon but turned down by Glynda because of his age. He had to go to Signal Academy instead, but tried going along with the students at Beacon As for the teams, the only worry is having them even. The roleplayers choose their partners over the course of the RP

Not much, really. If your character goes to the Magic Academy with a few others, the first class ended and now they're in second— sparring inside or training on their own outside. If not in the Academy, then you can do whatever, really. And also the Dark One inside my character is whispering stuff into the hearts of others, and if the RP doesn't die, provides foreshadowing of my schemes.

He did the sweets and candies first, just to his liking. He would share of course, but he kept anything chocolate or blueberry-flavored at the bottom, to savor. Those were his favorites, after all. He set it down and covered it with a cloth, proceeding on with a basket of meat, of fruits, vegetables, etc. He could only carry so much, though.(...A scavenger hunt.) Noah thought in his head, (It's debatable if we have time to hunt for items when on a mission...hopefully one of us will stumble across it.) He looked to the others in his group, continuing on with what Robert and the voice pointed out. "We really need to get moving. If you're hungry, grab something and go."

As stated above, video game characters are not only to be correct. Even when they help you, can be proved wrong and deemed liars. That being said, 63/64 is all the souls possible to collect in one play through, but is not all the souls. He wasn't lying, but it was a different context than you saw it as

Well this is late but YES I signed up for a few that died. However, I don't agree with already existing RWBY characters being used. Originality is better, generally, and we wouldn't want to change the past or personality of a character not fully developed yet

Whatever they're plotting...they couldn't be driven out, they would come."Calm down." Margaret told Aisling, taking a syringe from the first aid. "I know it's not his fault, and that it's Dante's," She said, drawing venom from the bite marks on Joshua. She then swabbed them with cotton, and bandaged them. There were bites all throughout his body though...not big, just abundant. "But he did it so long ago, apologized for it, and didn't finish explaining why he did it. I wouldn't forgive him either, but he's at least being sincere. Something to be grateful for, but not to forgive."
