As a child you have no need for money. As an adult you have need for money and you don't always have enough money to meet that need. You only have true freedom if you have the money to afford the gas lol You do have some independence but technically you become dependent upon your job in order to continue living the life style you've grown accustomed to. Book 1 and the equalists had the same feeling, but I felt Book 2 went so far into the spiritual thing that it was too much. I was fine with it until the final battle, that was pretty lame. I mean, sure atm I felt it was kind of cool but like a day later I realized how stupid it was.
